For the record my Tuesday night report card was on page 9, we've been yaking it up today. Sorry I'm to blame for much of it, sleep deprivation makes me sort of loopy and apparently chatty. I did well with health goals, less good with other stuff. I'm hoping that I'm back on the train, I've been trying to force myself into better habits before the school year starts so that I can hit the ground running. If I focus now, that should help.

wowgirl, I'd heard the term asexual before, but never considered that it's a sexual orientation like straight, bi-sexual or homosexual. Mostly I've heard it used to describe single cell life forms in biology class and middle aged women with children that have lost interest in sleeping with their husbands. Forgive me, I used to work in a very male dominated environment. Actually I think I might know a handful of people that are asexual (or very nearly) and I wish you luck in finding someone that understands you and can love you for who you are. I think love can be very hard to find no matter your sexual orientation.

Mern, I don't know how you can stop at one piece of sugar free chocolate. I bought some for a camping trip to put on my s'mores, and once the bag was open it was gone, I ate them all in 1 sitting. 1-2 is great, 30 less so. I used to work in an extended care facility (nursing home) when I was in college. One of our favorite patients stripped down to her birthday suit and danced through the halls pretty much everyday. And a couple of our favorite gentlemen would whistle and applaud, and if they didn't make any noise about it, she sometimes got all the way to the street out front! The funny part was that in her lucid moments she was sweet and polite and rather prudish. But it could have been worse, the guy down the hall from her used to um, well take matters into his own hand - morning, noon and night. Having him on your roster was like a form of punishment. Sort of gave the expression "dirty old man" a whole new definition. BTW I love your shoe tradition, and I wish you and my mother were friends so you could give her that great idea.

Quinn great job getting through a shop with mom, minus the meltdowns. I can't say that my BTS shopping trip with the kids yesterday was that successful. Great job on your A- and today's A. You go girl!

Mike is that "Tony" Horton or "Tim", be honest now.

On the subject of female hormone induced forgetfulness, I have that issue too. Prior to my first pregnancy I could keep track of whatever projects were going on at the office, 15-20 at the same time, I never kept a calendar, didn't take rigorous notes at meetings or in my college classes, I didn't need to. I could remember everything. But once I reached 20-30 minutes pregnant my brain flew right out the window, I think? Dunno, now I have to make lists for everything, which I promptly lose, and when they do turn up I'm like, "Hey, where did this come from? It's a very good list!". Although I can honestly say I've ever baked an hysterectomy or put my coffee in the freezer to warm it up.

Cassie are you still in a funk? I hope not. I've been thinking of you, as I spent my day with a complete lack of energy. Tomorrow will be better, right?

Amy, it's Tony. Not sure who Tim is. My favorite quote on health care come from Tony Horton.

Your poor health is ruining this country!

It's not the Democrats and it's not the Republicans, it's YOU! Your inability to move your ass and eat right is a burden on the rest of us. If you've turned things around, I thank you for your courageous effort. Just keep going. If you have not then find a way. Now! I'm tired of listening to all the whining and finger pointing from people with no discipline and bad habits. Good Health Care starts with YOU taking care of your health!

Tim Hortons is a chain of food porn establishments, they make doughnuts and coffee loaded with tons of yummy empty calories.

Hey almeeker, I've heard it described as an orientation, but I'm not sure it's the best term. For me, I'm asexy (asexual :P), but bi-romantic. So I'm asexy, and bi and the same time.
I've been spending a lot of time on AVEN, and have actually organised a meet up in Melbourne. So far it's just me and one other person, but to be able to talk about it, and get some clarification, jeez I can't wait!
I was worried about telling you guys (don't hate me for being cautious!) because there's a topic on AVEN about bad reactions, but you guys are wonderful, don't know why I was worried!
So thanks again for the kind words, your report card looks good, now go get the mani-pedi!

Mike, love that quote! Writing that one down for sure.

One of the best things about this forum is that we are all about getting and being "healthy", and it's not just about exercise and eating right, I think we also tackle mental health and just what's good for the soul. And let's face it knowing yourself and being honest with yourself and others is very good for your mental well being and your soul. So run with it baby, we accept you just the way you are.

I didn't realize how much I'd missed this forum until I started posting again, from now on I'll do my best to reply to all of you and be a more active (in more ways than one!) member of the forum!

Feeling guilty and hungry all at once, so I thought I'd post instead. Made a big, fat parenting mistake today... you'd think after 28 years, I'd have this figured out by now.

To make a long story short, I thought my daughter was being a stuck-up, "mean girl" by blowing off a friends calls, texts, etc. and making up excuses for not hanging with him. I told her I was really disappointed in her yesterday. Then when it happened today, I got really upset and told her that I thought her snubbing him was absolutely horrible and that she should apologize. Well, after 2 days, she finally told me that this kid has been doing a lot of underage drinking, womanizing and just making horrible decisions all summer before college and she didn't want any part of it. So, I basically yelled at my daughter for not hanging around with a drunk, tail-chaser!!

Kids really need to come with an Owner's Manual!

Where's my pillow....??? ...and my wine?? I knew I should have bought several bottles.

Quinn, you're not a mind reader. If she would have thought you were badgering her too much, she would have told you sooner. Now put that bottle down, we already know you're daughter doesn't want to hang out with a boozer.
