Amy I bought a food dryer yesterday so after I catch up on the forum I will exercise then go pick herbs and begin my first drying experiment. I am excited it came with some basic instructions so I hope it turns out well.

Nailkita I am glad you enjoyed your treat night! I laughed at your decision to bring desert to Thanksgiving, I made the same choice. I am thinking apples; you remove the core and some of the flesh scoop frozen yogurt into them and sprinkle with cinnamon and pecans they were on the cover of a magazine my daughter reads they looked cute.

Mern If God was a woman it would be us who could lose weight by simply kicking out a bad food. My hubby lost 20lbs a couple years ago by not eating potato chips and not drinking beer for six weeks granted he put it back on as soon as he started eating them again but boy I was jealous.

Quinn Your story is why I am here. I also put a lot of my weight back on slowly one mistake at a time so it makes me happy to see you are here maintaining. I hope once I get back to my goal I will be well into the habit of logging in and this will be my new place to go instead of the fridge.

Terri I looove getting my hair done so you just sit back and enjoy. I think you should move that to the top of your list and the only reason I’m looking at you like that is out of jealousy my greys are showing and I am trying to postpone getting mine done until as close to Christmas as possible. Yeah to 161.

Jjeand I am so glad your daughter condition is treatable with medications. My understanding of Supra-ventricular Tachycardia is that she will be able to live without restrictions and it shouldn’t do any long term damage what a blessing. I sure hope you can get a new specialist it’s so important she has a doctor she trusts and can be honest with as she will be seeing him for a long time and let’s face it they are still kids they don’t always make heart healthy choices. Please take care of yourself I know what worry can do to your health so take a hot bath, have a nice cup of tea and go to bed early.

Joanna Good luck on giving up coffee I do not think I could do it I would probably chew coffee beans if that was my only choice in the morning.

Have a great day everyone

Mern, did you post numbers for yesterday?

Ann, oh Ann... what can I say? Where are you? Did you disappear? Are you slacking and too ashamed to admit it? Make some goals and get busy! NO EXCUSES, REMEMBER!

Good Lord, girl!!! Life without coffee??? Makes me cringe just thinking about it!!! I found a good creamer (Walmart brand) when I stopped using half and half a couple of years ago. Sometimes after dinner, I'll throw a Splenda in too just to have something sweet instead of a higher calorie choice.

Had another good day. Spent the afternoon shopping for birthday gifts for husband and daughter. It's hard to have a bad day when it's 80 degrees and sunny!

1. Keep calories around 1200. Yes, Yes, Yes

LOL Thankfully, the crickets have been eradicated, thanks to our 16 month old kitten. My 6'4" husband has actually held him up to our vaulted ceilings to get any moths or other bugs that are out of our reach. It's hysterical to watch... but pretty darn effective.

Oh, and by the way... your grandma called... she wants to know why you haven't called her yet... LOL

I, too, am totally jealous of your garden. It's a lot of work, but you just can't compare the quality compared to what you buy. FIL just dropped off about 8 lbs. of carrots for me tonight. We have a barter system of sorts... I cook and bake things for him that my MIL won't make (most recently a cinnamon coffee cake) and he supplies me with veggies. I love that man. I haven't had to buy potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, corn, cucumbers, beets or carrots all summer.

Like you, I do have to get to the apple orchard... my German background requires lots of dishes made with apples in the fall. Hubby has Friday off... he's tall...weather is gorgeous... sounds like a plan! lol

Long story short... to all of you single ladies... marry a tall man... they're good at killing bugs and picking apples...

Awwww... I'm vertically challenged as well.

I was just looking through some recipes for Halloween and I thought that I'd pass this site along. You know how all of the treats for Halloween are full of frosting, chocolate and fat?? Check out these recipes. I know that they're not exactly health food, but they are pretty cute.

Quinn Thanks for the link the strawberry ghosts are awesome.

Mike I married a short guy he kills bugs just fine and as for apple picking that’s why ladders where invented. My green might not make it until the weekend my best friends brother is in a band and they are playing in a local bar tomorrow and it's hockey season(not a fan but my hubby and friend love the sport)so a couple glasses of wine may be in order.

Amy Thanks for the advice and for being someone I can learn from as I embark on a new area of my life (see below). I hope one day to be as skilled as you, every time you post about your garden I think one day I will be able to do that.

I dried parsley today that I had grown myself. For many of you this may be second nature but for me it’s a major step. I have always loved to cook and I am an organic girl who buys local, but also a workaholic so I bought everything I wanted I never really thought twice about it so when I lost my job I panicked what will I do now. My husband laughed and said I would figure it out he grew up with a Mom who did everything by hand gardened, canned, raised chickens etc. I have spent the summer making baby steps towards this amazing homemaker skill that I do not yet possess, but right now I just want to run around and show everyone my jar of parsley.
