Had a really nice day. The temps reached 80 and the day went really smoothly. My eating was ok, but again, my choices could have been better. On a happy note, I received an email today telling me that the application was received successfully! Wish us luck that good things will come from it... after last night, it would make a great story for her to tell her kids someday!

Tomorrow's goal is to concentrate on my own health and try to plan something fun and relaxing.

1. Keep calories around 1200. Yes, Yes

2. Eat clean. Yes, meh

3. Drink 80-90 oz. of water daily. Yes, Yes

4. Flax seed oil, Vitamin E, calcium and vitamin daily. Not all of them. Yes

5. Make sure scholarship apps get out this week. Ugh. YES!

Mern,

"Quinn, OMG, I hope last night is funny to you now. I'd have KILLED had I been in your shoes last night, but reading your post today was like something from a family sitcom TV show. I was giggling aloud over the crickets on your laptop. Oh, my Lord, one of my grandkids eating another's sub would send someone to death row. I hope you had a great day today and that your elder issues were handled with ease. Best wishes with the scholarship applications, too."

I know! That's what I told my mom... I felt like I was on a sitcom! And yes, I can laugh about it today. In fact, everyone in the house was laughing at it today, thank goodness.

Thanks for the best wishes... Some of the scholarship opportunities that she qualifies for are between $100,000 and $150,000. It would be such a miracle for her to be chosen, but the competition is really tough and she knows it. I've never seen a kid work as hard as she has for so many years. My fingers are crossed that good things will come to her.

Quinn, so glad to learn you WERE able to laugh today about your frustrating day yesterday. Refreshing to learn you also see the sitcom in life.

Golly, you must be so proud of your daughter for working so hard at her education. That would be so wonderful for her to be rewarded with a great scholarship. I'll keep my fingers, eyes, and toes crossed for her.

Will catch you all tomorrow. Signing off and going to bed right after Dancing with the Stars is over at 10PM.

Quinn, I totally empathize with the amount of work it takes to fill out applications for colleges and scholarships - as someone on the other side of it, it really does pay off!

Mern, gotta get in that DWTS! My dad watches that show, which forever blows my mind - it's so un-dadlike! Too funny.

My day was pretty good. I made my first foray into the university healthcare system today, which I knew would be kind of confusing, so I was putting it off, but when you gotta pick up prescriptions... It was about as confusing as I thought it would be, but I think I'll settle in here fine with new doctors and new ways of doing things... My calories are a lot better today. I worked out today - the fitness center here has a 20 minute time limit per machine, so I've taken to getting off the elliptical and doing the treadmill for the second 20. I've got a love but mostly hate relationship with that thing - running is so exhausting to me, but when I'm done, I really feel like I worked out! Today I ran about 16 minutes at 6 miles/hr and 4 minutes at 7 miles/hr. Anyway, here's my check-in:

1.) Stay under 1550 calories/day: 2539/1359
2.) Drink more water than I normally would: OK/Fair
3.) Take multivitamin: Yes/Yes
4.) Work out 3 times: 1
5.) Finish Astro 502 HW by Wed: Done
6.) Finish Astro 542, 501 HW by Fri: so hard... but I'll get it done

Oh, I have a runny nose today and have been sneezing so much. At first I thought it was allergies but it doesn't look like that anymore. Still I had an all green day so I am pleased. I will hopefully just sleep this off.

2. Exercise 4 times: Yes, Yes
3. Additional daily squats: Yes, Yes
4. 3 Liters of water: Yes, Yes
5. Report everyday: Yes, Yes
6. Go to sleep before midnight: Yes, Yes

Mern, you also had an all green Monday and your Tuesday is excellent as well! I haven't watched DWTS in a while. Do you have a favorite this season?

Nailkita, I hope all goes well with your dad.

Joanna, your scale is bunkers, great job on your goals today.

Quinn, glad you got the applications done. Hope you find something relaxing for you tomorrow.

Almeeker, glad your children were not there when the accident happened and I hope no one got badly injured. Good job on your goals.

Mike, good thing you called off the fight, specially if you were fighting on your own. The balance part of the squats is so hard, at the moment I feel them more on my core than my legs but today I felt I did better with them.

Mern Thanks for the nice words.

Joanna My scale doesn’t know what its talking about sometimes either I wonder some days if it’s getting even with me for standing on it.

Quinn Even with the bad day you had you still made great food choices yeah you. Crickets are horrible to lose in your house my son had a gecko and crickets would climb out of the cage and chip from random corners of the house I have been on many search and destroy missions, I hope you find them all soon. I chuckled at the sub eating I have heard this fight yesterday but it was cup a soup I was thinking really you are 20 year olds fighting over soup worth 50 cents I of course minded my own business not worth getting in the middle of that one. I am so behind on reading today glad your Tues was better.I hope your daughter does well with her scholarships.

Mike The not talking diet I am finding really challenging, sometimes I wish I could just say what I want but I know I am a little obsessive right know. I really hope my hubby and daughter will get on track with me but it needs to be their choice not me forcing them or it won’t stick. The healthy food in the house helps they like easy and fast food so the washed fruit on the kitchen table and precut vegetables in the fridge disappear fast so baby steps but steps in the right direction.

Amy I am so glad you and the kids were not home I hope no one was hurt.

Main 80 Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well.

Well the end of a busy day. I left the house before 7 this morning I felt a little deprived that I didn’t give myself time to check in and that made me smile. Four weeks ago I thought the idea of being part of a forum or diet support group was a little crazy and today I was feeling like a part of my morning was missing so for that thank you all !!!! It’s midnight here now so most have you have been in bed for a few hours but I still wanted to post even though I am a little behind. Have a great night talk to everyone tomorrow.

LOL, oh no I've created a monster.

You are so right about that. Before the forum I would have thought it was crazy too, but it really helps to have that daily dose of motivation, okay maybe more than one dose.
