How White Tea Helps Boost Your Weight Loss Efforts

Depending on the type of tea you choose, you may be able to soothe your stomach, boost your weight loss or improve your skin.

Green tea is commonly touted in health circles for containing not only caffeine but a compound that improves energy without the buzz of coffee as well as its ability to increase your feelings of alertness. And compounds in green tea are also known for improving your ability to lose weight. By some accounts, it can even help to clear up skin issues like acne. Black tea also has health benefits that include helping with recovery after a workout and stimulating weight loss. But it turns out that white tea is even better at aiding weight loss than its black or green counterparts.

Bernadine Tay, global tea curator for Wedgwood explains to PopSugar, "White tea actually stops new fat cells from forming.” While there are a lot of studies to back it up, it’s still a little-known secret that drinking a few cups of white tea a day can help with weight loss.

White tea has all the same benefits of green and black tea, including have tons of antioxidants, and then some, thanks to minimal processing. It is made from the Camellia Sinensis plant and has a pale yellow color when it's brewed.

Like other weight loss aids, you can’t just drink tea after having a double bacon burger and thinking that it undoes the damage, but having a cup with each otherwise healthy meal can help your body to break down fat and prevent storing new fat. So don’t rely on white tea as a solution to overhauling your body, but if you still have a couple of pounds left to drop then it just might help.
