8 Delicious Ways to Use Garlic in Every Meal of the Day

Garlic is full of health benefits, here are some ways to increase your garlic intake!

There are many health benefits linked to garlic consumption including being associated with lower cholesterol, improved circulation, heart-healthy benefits, reduction in cancer risk, and lower blood pressure. The phytochemicals found in garlic, Sulfides, are associated with maintaining a healthy immune system, and heart health. In addition to providing phytochemicals, garlic can help you meet your daily needs for Vitamin B, Manganese and Vitamin C.

But for many garlic is just an essential part of cooking!

1. Try rolling whole cloves into the crust of your homemade pizzas. When it bakes it will cook them to perfection! Chop garlic about 15 minutes ahead of time prior to cooking it to fully activate its phytonutrients.

2. For those of you who have not tried Elephant Garlic, these large garlic bulbs are perfect for roasting until they are soft and blending into your mashed sweet potatoes or using as a spread for toast!

3. Garlic Salsa: Dice garlic into small pieces and blend with cilantro, chilies, peppers, vinegar and even consider adding small bits of your favorite fruit.

4. Add flavor to your olive oil by dicing garlic and adding it with pepper, let it sit for a while before use to let the flavors fully mix into the oil.

5. Throw a cup of garlic cloves into a blender and blend until smooth, then add your favorite vegetables, fresh pepper, sea salt and vegetable broth to make a garlic based soup. Adding cream or milk as desired. Simmer until your kitchen smells like garlic and it is heated.

6. Roast garlic and then mix into your favorite vinegar, and oil blend for a delicious salad dressing.

7. For fish, poultry, and meat combine garlic with rosemary, thyme, crushed pepper and lemon for a zesty flavorful meat rub.

8. Try freezing garlic for easy additions to dinner meals or even your morning vegetable juice blend! Garlic will last indefinitely if you place them whole in the freezer in an airtight bag, you can remove cloves as desired. Chopped garlic will also stay well in an airtight container.
