Full body exercises are some of the best you can do for an efficient workout. By engaging more muscles with every movement, you increase the number of calories you burn AND target the fat all around your body. If your goal is to lose weight and get in shape, it's worth doing lots of full-body exercises!

Here are the best for you to do:

Burpees

Burpees are killers simply because they engage your legs (the squat portion), your core (the plank portion), your upper body (the push-up portion), and even give you great cardio (all the jumping around). It's probably the best of the full body exercises you can do!

Swing Squats

This is a kettlebell exercises that engages you upper body to swing the weight while your lower body drops into a squat. Your core is forced to work to keep your balance as you squat and swing, and you'll find that using heavy weights for this exercise will give you a very solid workout!

Turkish Get-Up

For those who want to target nearly every muscle in their body--with the focus being on the core--this is the exercise for you. You start lying flat on your back and slowly transition through different positions until you are standing on your feet, and then you reverse it all to lie back down on the floor. It's much harder than you'd think and a great full body workout!

Deadlift to Overhead Press

This exercise doesn't engage your legs as effectively as some of the others on this list, though it does force your hamstrings to work. The deadlift portion of the exercise hits your back, shoulders and biceps, and your shoulders, triceps and chest are engaged when you press it high overhead. Great exercise!

Medicine Ball Slams

If you've got a medicine ball lying around, this is the exercise for you! Basically it involves raising a medicine ball high above your head and slam it to the ground as hard as you can. The movement works your upper body very effectively, but if done right, you'll feel it in your legs as well.

Heavy Rope Workout

Grabbing two heavy ropes and slamming them against the floor can be a great alternative to regular weightlifting, and it makes for an excellent full body workout. If you dip into a squat as you slam the ropes into the floor, you'll find that your legs will feel the burn along with your arms, core and shoulders.

Lunge-Curl-Lean-Press

This exercise comes from the P90X program, and it's one of the most effective full-body movements. Basically you grip a dumbbell in each hand, step forward into a lunge, curl the weights to your chest, lean forward to engage your core, and press the weights overhead. It's a wicked arm, core and leg workout that will have your muscles burning in no time!

These are seven of the best full body exercises, and you'll find that doing them regularly will help you to build some pretty impressive overall strength!
