Trying for 100
There are unusual circumstances for me - my body is not a runners, but a football lineman's. I am 5'10" and weighed in at 310 lbs when I started. I have lost 10 lbs so far. I have made a conscious decision to ignore the BMI Index as it fails to take into account body type (trainers opinion) and will instead shoot for a 15% body fat. A trainer once recommended that method for me and that means 212 lbs so I am shooting to lose 100 lbs over a period of 14 months.

I am 32yr old female stay at home wife / mother
I started back on fitday May 17th at 170 lbs
Today i weighed in at 164 lbs
my goal is 145-150 lbs by Aug 23rd my 33rd Bday
I am basically on tract but this past weekend i went from 163 to 167 back down to 164 i think it might just be water retention tho.
More then weight loss i want to loose inches. My REAL goal is a size 8/10 pair of jeans.

Needing a fresh start
I am 43, female and just tired of being big. I am at 280 and would love to get some weight off before I go back to meet my new first grade class in August. I am going to try to just get started. Any comments would be greatly appreciated or suggestions.

4 lbs down only 49 to go
AGE: 29-female
Starting Weight: 203 lbs
Height: 5ft 6in
Goal: 150 lbs
I tipped the scales 2 weeks ago at 203.5 lbs. I can't keep going at this rate. I have 2 children and a family history of obesity. I commit to losing 53 lbs. When I weighed in this Monday I was 199 lbs. I lost 4 lbs.
1000 calorie diet, road bike 6 miles 1x per week and lots of water.

Female
Age: 29
Starting Weight: 250 lbs (6/11/2010)
Goal Weight: 150 lbs (9/15/2011)
Mini-Goal: 175lbs (5/20/2011)
Average loss per week: 1.6 lb
Daily Activity Level: Mostly sitting, desk work
Current calories: 1600-1800 per day
Current Exercise: 40-60 mins slow to medium-paced walking per day 4-5 days a week, another 30-60 mins 1 or 2 times a week on the treadmill going 1.5-2 mph on a 7 incline. Another week or so of this and I'm going to mix it up a bit
My first weigh-in last Friday resulted in a drop of 5 lbs, so I'm now at 245lbs. I know that's not going to be typical, but I'm still happy with it.
I'm doing this for weight loss and for PCOS, which is an insulin resistance disorder. I didn't know that it was a cousin to diabetes and what "insulin resistance" was and for the 7 years since I was first diagnosed, I never knew why I felt so crummy or why my hormones were so out of wack. Not only do I need to lose weight & exercise, I have to monitor my percentage of carbohydrates & really limit the "bad" simple ones (white flours, processed sugary snacks, etc).
I currently aim for 50-55% carbs, 25-30% protein, and 20-25% fat daily. One day, I hope to get my carbs down even more, but for now I'm happy with the changes I have made & realize this is a permanent change, so I don't need to do too much to fast.

My goals
I just hit my first goal today!
My husband and I have been on the paleo diet for 2 and a half weeks now. My starting weight was 208 I'm a 5'9" female, so my ultimate goal is to be 140. My first goal was to get to 200, which I hit today! so I'm down 8lbs in a little over 2 weeks! Weight loss has never come easy for me, but has been especially hard since having my daughter 3 years ago. Now that I'm creeping up to my day of delivery weight which was 214, I decided to make some drastic changes. I love the diet, I feel great, and am seeing success! My mini goals from now on will just be 10lbs at a time. I would like to reach my ultimate goal by the end of this year, but even if I'm well on my way by then I'll be happy!
