7 day motivational thread (new year, new week, new you!)

Mike Awesome post, lots of info even if you don’t have teen drivers which in 8 months I won’t have any more and the high premium we pay will go away. Do you have an opinion on how much liability and uninsured motorist protection we should have I am not sure if the insurance is the same here but I am open to advice. What kind of phone do you use I am going to upgrade mine but have no clue what type to get and I know you use your phone a lot to log onto fitday?
Unfortunately for person "B" (excuse me for being blunt) if person "A" doesn't have a pot to piss in, he may not collect above the limits of the policy. That's NOT TO SAY that he SHOULDN'T. He probably won't pursue it and if he does, he may get a judgement that's not worth the paper it's written on b/c person "A" probably won't hold up to his end of the deal.
However, lets say that person "A" works in the oil field, make $150k a year, has a nice amount of assets and only has 25/50/25. He's probably going to be taken to the cleaners.
Uninsured/Under insured motorists is different between states. In Louisiana there is no such thing as UM Property damage if you have collision coverage. In other words, someone hits you and destroys your car and has no insurance, or not enough insurance, the UM coverage that your paying for doesn't help one bit for that (you could collect for bodily injury, disability and pain and suffering depending on your coverage). The damage to your car would fall under your collision coverage, in which you'd have to pay your deductible. Your insurance company should subrogate against the other person to recover your deductible (which you may or may not get, back again to the "pot").
My clients that have some assets to protect usually go with 100/300/100, if they have a good bit of assets often they'll go with 250/500/100 + a $1m umbrella.
Clear as mud?
As far as phone I have an iPhone4. I love it. I hated it at 1st b/c it was my first smart phone and it didn't come with a owners manual. I'm pretty analytical and it drove me nuts that it didn't with one. There are still a lot of things that I'm learning about it that I wish I would have known from day 1.
And Mike I agree with the others, what this heck is it with you and King Cake. I thought that was only for special occassions . And now it seems that it is back in the house... DUDE!
Foodwise yesterday was not quite the disaster it looked to be. DH prepared a wonderful smoked chicken alfredo. And if there is ever a diet busting dish it is anything alfredo. Fat and white flour fetticini. Yeah, I know you can do WW pasta, but with such a delicate dish, it really calls for a good fresh regular fetticini. And along those lines, I want a pasta attachement for my KA mixer sooooo bad! But pasta is a pretty bad trigger food for me, so there's this good and evil thing going on in my head.
I'll have to go back and find my last goals post (I usually save them to the desktop, but since I use 3 different computers, apparently I never put this week's goals on this computer.)
Check-in later

King Cake is a Mardi Gras thing. The stores and bakeries only sell them for maybe 3 months a year. I guess you can say that it is a special occasion since you wait the better part of the year for them.

All business expenses pulled, logged, matched up statements and receipts; categorized all; errands run. That should NOT have taken all day. Time to log in the food and move on to the next task. Sometimes I just don't get myself. Huge to-do list, so what do I do last night? Pull out a huge jigsaw puzzle and start it. Avoidance? Denial?
Tori, have a good time this evening! Pics if you can; a good description of the evening regardless .
Darlene, rest up and feel better!

Tori. Hope you are having a wonderful evening, relax and enjoy, you sound like you would be great fun to go out with.
Darlene. Hope your insomnia ends soon, I'm not finding it too easy to to get to sleep these days either and it's beginning to show
I have had a lovely day with my sister and BIL but it's times like this that I kinda miss my BF especially when I think that he would really enjoy it too. Don't know if I've said how I'll he was over Christmas when he was home with me and ended up in hospital when he went back to England. They have diagnosed him as diabetic so he is now trying to come to terms with that. I was very surprised that he was only in hospital for 1 day and night and then they discharged him with BM sticks and an insulin pen and more or less told him to get on with it. He had an appt yesterday at a specialist clinic and they increased his insulin and gave him some more medication and an appt for two months from now. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems a little casual for such a serious condition.

Lizzie, sorry to hear that! I hope he is able to come to terms with it soon. What a big piece of unwelcome news to drop in his lap. It's possible his care providers are so cavalier because they see it so often. Still, it is very significant to the person diagnosed, and hopefully they remember that.

Time really got away from me. Here it is almost 4PM and I've got so much to do. Haven't exercised yet and have to go pick up GD in half and hour from her boyfriend's and take her to work.
My day has been STELLAR as far as food goes. Nutritious stuff, a little light on veggies, but trying to keep the net carbs very, very low today. Made some low carb chocolate mocha flaxmeal muffins to put in the freezer (can't have any today) and made some low carb black soybean stovetop "baked" beans to have with dinner tonight and DH really loves them--he had no idea it was health food until I told him what was in it.
No way I can catch up, so quickly:
Amy your treatment by the receptionist at your doctor's office is horrible. If I were you I'd be sure the doctor knows, possibly say the receptionist should apologize to anyone she treats that way, and possibly even look for a new doctor (if you can choose your own) for being denied medical treatment until you got the mammo and bloodwork IF that has nothing to do with your prescription for which you needed a refill.
Tori, have a great time on your date with Cuter-Nicer! I'm big on time out for kids, too, for bad behavior that happened before I could stop it--in a place where they can't watch TV, read, or listen to music. During their time out they are to think of what they did wrong and before they are "released" they must TELL me what they did wrong and how they SHOULD have acted. Someone here, several months ago, said making the kids write an essay about what they did and what they SHOULD have done is a good idea--I think it was Cassie or Amy.or maybe April. Don't know for sure who said that but it's surely a good idea--but not for my seven year old grandson just yet. If the bad behavior CAN be be prevented (as in the case of my 7 year old grandson who doesn't want to help get his own breakfast) I tell them what the consequences will be and if they choose to disobey, then I tell them I'm sorry they chose to punish themselves. I try not to yell because I don't want the kids to know they are able to "push my buttons" but I'm not always able to do that.
Mike, my veggie beef soup is PRETTY much the same each time I make it--depends what veggies I have on hand. Several batches ago I measured what I had on hand to put in and used FitDay to figure out the nutrition facts for me. I entered it as my homemade veggie beef soup and use it as a good enough estimate each time now because I make soup by "dump and taste method" rather than by careful measuring. I'll bet you make yours that way, too. Well, at least you logged your Blast! LOL
Cassie, I HOPE my head is harder than my 7 year old grandsons--close contest, though. LOL I wanted the estimate on the Cracker Barrel fish because I'd like to be able to work it in to a good day's report occasionally, even if I have to eat just 1/2 portion of it--which I WILL because DH and I figured it's about 9 oz. and 17 freakin' grams of net carbs per portion out of my 25 grams net carbs allowed per day! But I could eat half and bring the other half home and continue to substitute green beans for the fries/chips that come with it. Congrats to DS for getting his permit and to you for living through another milestone. Looks like you got a ton of stuff done today. Good for you. I hate doing chores I dread to do. Congrats on your self-discipline.
Running out of time here. Hope to catch up more later.

Fit4luv Congratulations on your 4lb loss!
Mike My new plan has 3 million liability and we thought our insurance lady was overreacting a bit but I guess I never considered the bus scenario! Yes it’s good info I can tweak what you are saying into what she was trying to say and although the rules seem a little different the theory is the same protect my butt because if it’s my fault they are coming after my $$$. Thanks for the phone info.
Cassie Puzzle’s I am in I love a good puzzle on a rainy weekend sometime we do need to avoid our lists and take care of our need for rest and relaxation.
Lizzie Sorry to hear about your bf condition I agree with you it seems like the help was a little too casual I hope he plans to see his own Dr. maybe that will help. I hope you get some rest soon also. Sleepless nights can affect so many aspects of our lives I have always been so envious of my hubby he hits the pillow and is out for exactly 8hrs he wakes up with no alarm and fully rested and has never had an issue with sleep. I on the other hand never sleep more than 5-7 hrs and have struggled with insomnia since I was a teenager.

Mike,
More King Cake?? What the heck is in it anyway?? I've got to try one.
Guess what tomorrow is?? Saints vs. Detroit!! Can't wait! Remember what I said... wrap Brees up in a ton of bubble wrap, and you should be fine. Oh, and watch for crotch kicks from Ndamukong Suh. What a piece of work he is! A little 25 y/o piece of crud. I'm betting that the Detroit coach will throw his headgear to the ground at least twice, as well. I can't wait to see them lose... lol.

One quick pic before I head out....
It's kinda dark but it was the best I could do. I haven't finished my hair and makeup when I took it, so that's not the best either. OOOOHHH and I had to pick something from the closet because when I got home from shopping. Cause guess what I found! The damned security tag was still on the sweater and the top that I bought was just barely too small. It fit everywhere but across the boobs, go figure! It's what I get for not trying it on while in the store, but everything esle that I tried on was in that size. But as any woman knows, never trust the tag, always try it on!!!! UGGHHH!! Oh well....here goes..........
