I guess we are falling to the summer temptations. Mine was a kind neighbour offering beer when I finished cutting my grass. How could I say no? Calories okay as I weet light on dinner, however I have not made it to the Y this week for my weights. Will do it tomorrow and maybe it will be an excuse to escape family on Friday or Sat! Mary

I think the easiest time for me to lose weight is in the summer because there are no holidays and I don't feel as hungry in the hot weather.

Terri, almeeker and Cassie,

Add my name to "The Crash and Burn Club"!!! Today, I not only crashed and burned, but when the flames went out, I lit it on fire again. (OH, Cheese Puffs... did I hear you say Cheese Puffs... YUM... OMG! Make me stop!!! lol )

I had both of my emotional triggers in one day. The first half of the day was an unexpected celebration (insert lots of bad food here). The second half of the day was a stressful medical procedure that turned out fine, but led me to a "stress release binge" at 5:30 when it was all over. Two binges in one day... ugh... Not even bothering to log today. Looking for a "do-over" tomorrow. Right now, all I need is a stomach pump...

Sounds like a fresh start for all of us tomorrow!

I haven't read any of the posts today. The wife of cousin of mine from out of state called yesterday and said they were in town and would like to visit. I suggested we meet for dinner tonight and come back to my house for dessert and coffee--which we did and it worked out perfectly.

The house was such a mess due to my slacking off horribly with my grandkids on vacation. It took me four and a half hours to get the house company-ready and throw together a super carby Jello No Bake peanut butter and chocolate dessert. Then I ran to the store to buy a sugar free angel food cake which I served with sliced strawberries sweetened with Splenda. (Thanks for that idea, Mike!) I didn't tell them it was sugar free, but told them it was partially homemade because I made it home from the store with it in the back of my car. All day I had only eaten a slice of tofu, a salmon steak, and a serving each of broccoli and green beans, so I enjoyed a slice of the sugar free angel food cake and strawberries myself.

I haven't logged my food, but I'll bet I come in under all targets. Exercise was informal, but got plenty with all the housework done at a quick pace.

I hope you all did well today.

I'm really tired, so will catch you all tomorrow.

Default Speaking of food porn, this one is healthy!

Tonight I made dinner for a friend. Here is my salmon dish I was talking about a few days ago. I also grilled zucchini and made a 3-colour baby potato salad (which I did not have but which my friend loved.) I just can't stop grilling everything! I think I'm going to try grilling brussels sprouts tomorrow. Is that crazy? Somebody stop me...

Default Wednesday check-in

i had a fabulous day off! I love having days off! I went to the Y and did 75 minutes of cardio then I walked to a friends house and it's 5K there and back. My feet are kinda throbbing right now but it feels good!

I also made a delicious and healthy dinner and even enjoyed a glass of rosé and still came under my calorie limit! I finally did it! I finally hosted a dinner and resisted the urge to pig out! FINALLY!

1. Eat between 1100-1400 calories per day. YES 1124/ YES 1210/ YES 1174
2. Calorie deficit of 550 or more per day. YES 936/ YES 850/ YES 1300!
3. Exercise 5 hours. 45 min./75min. (total so far: 2 hours)
4. Take my multivitamin. YES/ YES/ YES
5. Eat over 30% protein. YES 42%/ YES 33%/ YES 33%
6. Drink minimum 10 glasses of water per day. DONE!/ DONE!/ DONE!
7. No sugar. YES!/ YES!/ YES!
8. No wheat. YES!/ YES/ YES

Other goals:

1. Put up the new shelves.
2. Put up the solar blind in the kitchen.
3. Water the flowers. It's raining!/ YES/ YES
4. Wash the living room pillow cases.
5. Edit first cut of friend's wedding video. Started it!

Quinn, those recipes sound great. I love pumpkin pie, but I definitely have an issue with portion control too, especially when it comes to dessert!

Sheila, if you have a smart phone, there is probably an app for that. I use one called Couch To 5K for people who want to learn to run. It tells me when to run and when to walk while one of my chosen music playlists is playing. I love it!

Hope, "Mr. Eau Du You Wear Too Much Body Spray?" You kill me!

Cassie, reaching maintenance calories is hardly what I would classify as "Crash and Burn!" Your plan to increase your exercise is a good one and you'll get away this little detour, believe me. You've got this.

Terri, you're allowed to eat cake on your birthday! I'm bummed to hear that work sucked for you on your birthday though!

Amy & Mike, speaking of iPhones - and I can't believe you brought it up - I am the iPhone photography app queen! You should see some of the pictures I take! I haven't really gotten into the games though but I do like word games. I'm going to look up the "Words with Friends" game.

Quinn, when you start fresh tomorrow and get this little deviation out of your system, it will become a non-issue! YOur stomach pump comment made me lol.

Okay... I have a problem. I have had the hiccups all day! I'm guessing that this has to be a side affect from my epidural yesterday. I very rarely get the hiccups and it is driving me NUTS!!!

Rose, I'm into photography myself, what's a good app? I tried an HDR one but it kinda sucked.

Hey guys, been scanning the posts for today... I have no doubt those of you who had tough days will have no trouble getting back on the wagon! Not much time to post since I just got back from celebrating my roommate's birthday with her and it's way past my bedtime, but here's a quick check-in:

1.) Stay under 1650 calories/day: Nope/Yes/Yes (even though we went out to an Italian restaurant!)
2.) Go to the gym 3 times: Yes, Yes
3.) Keep active on non-gym days: Close enough!
3.) Find ways to keep the protein up: Pretty good/Decent/Cool

Other:
1.) Figure out my low blood sugars (will be a work in progress): Getting there/May have over corrected, seeing doc tomorrow

Ciao!

1)1600 calories max- 2089 (stress and discomfort eating),1156 (despite taco/margarita or because?),1778
2) 64 oz water min- 48 oz, 72,72
3) walk or gym at least 3x this week -looooooong walk, no, long walk for me-nearly 2 miles
4) be a stretchy mama- yes,no,yes
5) no sugar-yes, no:sugar due to margarita,no
6) lower or fibro diet approved carbs-no (popcorn at movies blew it), eh not that, yes except for the Saltines I needed to fix tummy after sugar free gummi bear incident

Other
1) write 1.5 hours daily except Tuesday (class)- meh, journal stuff mostly; class and writing woot woot, late start but yes maybe 3 or 4 hours
2) meditate- yes, yes short, yes short
3) step back -trying, HAAAAAAAAA!!!!! That's step back not forward, 3 big fat jump steps forward, come on now
4) be kind (in honor of Katherine)-trying, yeah not so much (sorry Katherine), kindness may not be my "thing"
5) see friends -walked with one, went to the movies with another; saw friend for Mexican lunch, just DH who is my BFF but got tix for a play with friend

OK another little caution: Do not eat more than 2 or 3 sugar free gummi bears with maltitol, just in case you were planning to eat oh say 14 of them. They are so not worth it! They are so chewy you wind up practically swallowing them whole (ever see the way a dog eats? Yup, that was me and these gummis watching what else True Blood.) Unless you like to have your tummy constantly churning and gurgling and have other not nice digestive things happen, keep away from them! So note: no Mexican food before driving in sweltering car, no gummi bears with maltitol. Yup I check out these things so you don't have to. You're welcome. The things I do for you people. Yeesh. LOL

Happy birthday, Terri. I am so sorry you didn't have the best day. Maybe a do over? Before next year, I mean? Declare one day Terri day and make unreasonable (or reasonable) demands on your nearest and dearest (or even strangers for that matter.)

Rose, you like that name for BF? That isn't even his full title!!! Your slmon dinner looks amazing. Talk about food porn... with pictures yet.

Amy, you are a feeder, I am an eater. Feeder + Eater = uhoh
