Another plea for an Android App ... :D
Please, make it real! |

The moderators are the ones editing out the site references...it's our job to make sure the posts follow the rules set forth. It's the tech folks that have the answers about the Android app, and the ones who will have to make it happen. And even our contacts in that regard are still waiting to hear. We mods know nothing about the status of that...but we would like to see one, too! |

App for Andriod - Soon?
Great! I sure hope so (along with 1000's of other users). I bought the PC versions years ago, LOVE it. I used BodyBugg logging for a while but found it just was not quite up there with the PC version of FitDay. And for years I "resisted" cell phones and the like. Alas, I have succumbed and now have a smart phone. Great apps for working out, logging activities and the like. What is lacking? FitDay app. Please let us know when it happens OR if it is never going to happen.
Keep it going everyone! |
I'm bumping this thread to see if there's anything going on regarding a FitDay app for Android.

I don't know of any iPhone contract. Nothing new with the Droid app so in my opinion it's looking like a "no go".
So, from a $ and technology standpoint, I don't see why they aren't moving forward. Heck, the user pool for an Android app is huge...charge for it, they will come. |
Very sad.
If you are looking for a good android app, try MyFitnessPal. It has almost everything! While it most likely won't replace my FitDay PC, it IS my android app of choice for logging my food on the go. Check it out. I do not think you will be disappointed. Especially when you compare it to Fit Day's app (where is it?) or many of the other tracking apps out there. This one does the job quite nicely. |
I agree
And this app MFP automatically syncronizes with the website:) So it does a great job. it is even better for me because there are a lot of Hungarian users (like me) so it is full of Hungarian food, which makes tracking food a lot easier because I can be sure that it is the same food I want to feed in.
I will come here from time to time and check out whether FiDay has the Android app. I would gladly give it a try. |
http://mashable.com/2012/11/14/android-72-percent/
As of November, Android is on 72% of smartphones. IOS is on 14%. 72% of your users would love an Android app, please. :) |
I much prefer Fitday, but I switched to myfitnesspal based solely on an android app.
|
I want to know is Fitday's customers service so bad they can't answer anyone?? I've even emailed them!
|
I also emailed them a while back and got a very vague answer. When I asked for more info, I didn't get a reply. I'm becoming a member of the it-isn't-going-to-happen club. And I can't quite figure out why not...they could even make money on it because I'd bet most people would be willing to pay a couple of bucks for it -- if it turned out to be halfway decent...

Regretfully, got the word that there are no plans to offer an Android app.
I know that's not what everyone wants to hear, but at least it's an answer. |

After all, if they released an Android app they could get a lot more clients. If they get a lot more clients, then they'd have to add more servers. And we all know how well that worked out last time! - Donna |

It's inexcusable and a little ridiculous to not have an Android app. Get with the times, FITDAY. At least sparkpeople has an app, although it's not very good.

Just posting to add my voice: I am also switching to myfitnesspal due to the lack of an android app.
Also frustrated that fitday doesn't let you download your custom foods list.... |
"Thanks for the Memories" and bye bye
Well, that all just bites.
Yet, it is good to know so that we can all stop hoping. FitDay, you have been great! I have enjoyed using the program so much. One of the best out there in my opinion. However, not having and app at all, much less one that syncs with our gadgets, is just so early 20th century!:o I too will be switching to myFitnessPal. While is it not as robust as FitDay, it does do the job. Here it so hoping you all change your position, invest a little bit, and develop an app in the not too distant future. Signing off for now . . . . :( |
Android
Here is the latest on Android:
Brand new apps for both iOS and Android are in development for this year. They will add features to the current iOS app, and will enable an entirely mobile food & activity logging experience. I do not have an ETA for these apps' arrival, but this is great news for Android users. I will keep this thread updated when I hear more. Best, Paul |

Why don't you consult with a good to get this done when you are not getting it.
|
Great, any news?
|
Really, guys (FitDay) - this is ridiculous. Check the news - Google/'Droid is on fire! How come it is still not done? The app, I mean??
|
What the hell? It's the beginning of the 6th month of this year and still no updates? I feel kinda mad because fitday is perfect for tracking your food while you are in a contest prep (like me) and overall a great tool.
|
You are so right about it being a great tool! I have been using other apps like MyFitnessPal and looked at others and nothing seems quite as good as the FitDay. I came across it when working with a personal trainer at 24 hour. She recommended it over the 24 hour proggy (Body Bugg). Even after using other proggys I find that I am heading back to my PC version of FD. It is just too good NOT to use. App will be nice but in the mean time . . . .
|
Any more info mods?! I'm dying from all that waiting!
|
Seriously, any news mods willing to share? Please.
|
The lack of a mobile app and food database makes me wana get a refund for the pcapp. I always see myself using mfp as its easier to add foods too.
|
Any info? Seriously, would be nice of mods.
|
No news. We'll certainly update on this when we do have news, as we know it's hotly anticipated!
Paul |
Till the end of this year can we expect ANYTHING at all? It's getting pointless even checking the forums slowly.
|
the best way is to search it on : Google

android status update
Just a premium user, with an android phone, that would really like to be able to use this app on my phone. I had an iphone in the past and greatly enjoyed having the flexibility of the app on my phone.
Any realistic update on if / when you will be producing an android compatible app ? I see promises going back years on this thread and yet as far as I can tell, still no android app. and is this a supported app ? http://www.appsgeyser.com/getwidget/FitDay%20Mobile/ |

When is android app coming out????
Can someone please advise when an android app is coming out?
You guys are losing a lot of money by not having this available. I would have started pro membership a year ago if not for that. |
