Don't spam our Forums with new threads about an Android App. Everyone is requested to do a search first before starting a new thread. The thread here that I've merged yours with is not only well established and easy to find, but it's referenced in the FAQ's thread which you didn't bother to read first.

That is all.

So your very first post is that of a troll. I hope you and your app are very happy together.

why no android?

why no android app? you said 2 years ago that we were getting one and we are not second class citizens us droid users will have to go elsewhere

I am a brand new user and am shocked that there is no android app. There are so many android calorie counter apps. Just went to xxx and downloaded android app. Track calories the same but also integrates smartphone scan to read the barcodes off of foods and drop in the correct nutrionals. Says it can make custom exercises which is good because many gym machines give you a calorie readout you can use instead of an estimation. Think I am switching.

i just recently restarted using fitday. really disappointed in lack of android app. i would pay a few dollars for it even. i doubt i use fitday much longer without the use of an app. there are other programs out there that will take time to cater to android users. will go to them soon.

I showed this site to my trainer and he also likes it a lot. I do wish it had a droid app. I also wish I could figure out how to customize the workouts for things like cardio and maybe even track my weights that I am lifting as well.

Customized workouts should be coming in the future. :)

What about the droid APP. When will it be coming for us to use? I refuse to get an iPhone.

VitoVino 05-01-2012 11:47 PM

crickets

No Android, FitDay no use to me

Following the string of unhappy folk, I am astounded FitDay has not created an Android App. Considering how far back the rants go, it seems unlikely they will respond. When they do, it will be too late.

In the past, I have directed many friends to this site. Now I will be directing them away.

It is a shame to leave. You were my first, and you have failed me.

Rest assured, when we have any sort of schedule for this app's release, I will happily trumpet it in the forum! Until then, we are in a holding pattern.

Thanks, Paul. I'm sure no one is deliberately ignoring the issue, but there are loads of us out here waiting with bated breath. I, for one, can't wait!

I've been using FitDay online and PC for years but I now use my mobile Droid devices more and more. I was very surprised (and disappointed) that there is no Android app for smartphones and tablets seeing as the competition (fatsecret, LoseIt, Cronometer, etc.) have had these apps for some time now. FitDay used to be #1 but it's not keeping up with what users want and need.

Hopefully, the Droid apps will be released soon.

ETA: Curious that I've been a member of FitDay since 2006 yet it says my Join Date is 2012.

enmolnar 05-31-2012 08:24 PM

Oh dear I ended up using another program (it's free) for my Android mobile phone and the web. I haven't been here ever since I began using that other program. It is better for me because I can see the foods added by other users as well and as I am from Hungary, I am also happy to see Hungarian food and people in the network.

So I found a better program for myself :) That's the way it is. They should have come out with the android app much earlier.

FYI it's still not out, and nowhere has an ETA ever been given. ;)

Does FitDay Have an App for Android or iPhone?

FitDay is the best site I've found for my dietary needs, but I can't find an app for it on my Android phone like other 'not-as-good' sites have.

VitoVino 06-02-2012 02:14 AM

Hard to believe, isn't it?

sandrot 06-09-2012 07:44 AM

Looking for android app as well

Aefgar 06-12-2012 04:27 PM

Very sad

I now use a competitor's app/site now. Fitday is by far better, but the site is hard to navigate on my device. So I switched.

Considering the popularity of Android devices, the ease of developing apps, and the length of time that members have been wanting one, you would think that Fitday would care. Considering that Fitday was touted by Rodale Publishing, you might also think that that kind of marketability would be worth something. Obviously, neither case is true.

When Fitday steps into the 21st century where the rest of us live, I will be back... and gladly.

Danielle51701 06-21-2012 01:29 AM

I would love an android app as well. :) I track everything all day long while I am at work but at nights and on the weekends I don't get on my computer unless its a really slow day.

Who has the best Android App?

I need a fitness app for my android phone. I gave up on fitday ever having one. Who has the best Android app?

Okay, you know that FitDay doesn't have an Android app so you are asking on FitDay "Who has the best Android APP?" Maybe you should go to your local Ford dealer and ask around for the best Chevy.;)

I don't get your analogy. FitDay doesn't provide an android app and has no plans to. Asking a group of Ford owners where they went to buy a motorcycle doesn't seem inappropriate.

Haha you must have been looking at my avatar. I was saying since FitDay doesn't provide an Android App, coming here asking about for a competetor that does have one is like going to the Ford dealership (which doesn't provide Chevys) and asking around for the best Chevy. In other words, you probably won't get that answer here. You could look in your App store for an App, which would be like going to eBay or the classified ads for a Chevy. ;)

DKFinFLA 07-08-2012 05:12 AM

Yes, there is. Go into the store, then do a search for FitDay. Works well.

FitDay app for droids

I've done this and still can't find it. I know there is one for the iphone but I can't find one for the droid.

cwilkinson245 07-08-2012 01:16 PM

MyFitnessPal is good app for adroid

I don't agree. I think posting your comment here is an excellent idea. I hope it sparks FitDay to create an app for the droid. I've been using FitDay for many years and was even going to update to premium if they got the app but that hasn't happened.

I'm using MyFitnessPal on my phone which works well and is a free app for now.

What about posting your comments about this in the 14 page thread that has already been stickied? I think that would have been a better idea. I'll move this there, along with the other app thread that's going right now. This has been brought up many many times. I don't know if we will ever get an Android app, we may, I have no clue. All I know is that Admin and the developers of FD are well aware that it has been requested.

roseharvey12 07-12-2012 04:27 AM

I love android as it worked really well as compare to other what you need to make sure is to get the services from reputable android app development company and you will get what you need it for sure.

taptap25 07-26-2012 01:10 AM

I love fitday but have made fatsecret my main log site mainly because of the andriod app. Fitday got to get there shhit together. come on. your losing members to other sites. wake up:mad:

lovepartyenjoy 08-26-2012 10:59 PM

By the sounds of it this won't make a difference, but I'm throwing in another vote for an android app anyway. I was about to sign up for premium but then realized there still wasn't one and just couldn't justify spending the $50 without getting an app too.

rkipper 08-27-2012 05:14 AM

Android App

I have Fitday for PC also and would really like to see an Android App for Fitday. Just tossing in my 2 cents as well... :)

NoelFigart 09-12-2012 01:02 AM

I'd been using Fitday for years, even bought the PC app. I stopped because it had no Android app.

I use another program now. THIS syncs with a free app. While the tracking is nowhere nearly as detailed as Fitday, it does keep track of weight, exercise, water intake, caloric intake and so on.

Sorry guys, but you didn't keep up.

toddsmash 09-12-2012 02:00 PM

come on team...this thread was started last year...surely you can work an App out for Droid. You've got twelve pages of people requesting one. even at a doller for the app you'd be raking it in.

That's the spirit, guys. Ignore the clamoring of your customer base, and when ignoring doesn't work, instead of addressing the issue, strong arm your customers by hiding behind the forum rules. Gonna take your ball and go home next? Seriously... OMG, somebody is posting the name of a competitor. Oh, the huge manatee. Instead of running around enforcing stupid and completely unnecessary forum rules with an iron fist, you should probably be asking why we're feeling its necessary to seek out a different program... or maybe engage us in some kind of dialog as to why the issue isn't being addressed. I don't know... as a business owner myself, that's what I would do, but what do I know? Do what you want, I guess.

Highside 10-06-2012 01:40 AM

I used FitDay on and off for MANY years.... but ever since I got an Android phone, I have been using another website. I MISS FitDay... always preferred it... but I'm praying that an Android app appears someday. Until then, I will keep checking in... and will be back again, once it is available.

djslatt 10-07-2012 06:36 AM

I'm hoping the fact that this subject is in the FitDay survey means they're getting closer to an Android app...I'd be happy if they just phased in features: log food, activity and weight for now, with synch to online account...

LorraineV1 10-09-2012 03:31 AM

Found a good Android App.

I used FitDay for years, but now that I have an Android phone I would much rather have the ability to add foods while away from my computer. Since FitDay does not offer this, and it sounds like they never will, I used several that did not measure up. The closest one I could fine was XXX. It works great and has most of the same features as FitDay. The only place it lacks is creating custom foods. You can do it, but it's just not as easy as FitDay for PC. They have a website that you can add your foods to as well and it synchs to your phone. Also, it's FREE. :p

crager 10-16-2012 08:06 AM

I wish they would be as quick to get an Android app out as they are to edit out other site references. :p

Seriously, I like FitDay and have had it for years but there is no benefit to using this program if the developers aren't willing to produce an Android app. Android is the most used mobile OS in the world right now by a large margin, and more Android devices are activated each day than any other platform. Why there is no support for it here is beyond me. I've included the latest data below to illustrate this fact. I doubt any developers for FitDay ever look at this, but I hope someone takes notice because the lack of support for Android has become a full fledged problem with this program now.
