would love this too, or a mobile version of the site. would pay $2-3 for an app...I've got several years of data on here and I don't want to switch! but the site is hard to use on a phone screen as-is.

stacyhewlett 08-28-2011 03:55 AM

I was just checking back after several months to see if there was an android app yet. Guess not. I'm using fatsecret, and although I did not like it at first, I now really like it. Bar code scanner for inputing foods works pretty good. Not sure if I will come back to fit day - even if I get an iPhone in the future. Sorry people, you took too long to get an android app.

jwright70 08-30-2011 02:58 AM

Android App

Missing the Android App is the biggest drawback to your program!

dmcutaia 09-02-2011 11:00 PM

Can we get an update on the Android App? it is really frustrating that there is one for the iPhone but not for Android. Is there a release date yet?

drtoonz 09-05-2011 02:02 AM

No Android app is having me search elsewhere

I've been searching for an app for my Android phone. I like FitDay, but I'm searching elsewhere and I don't want to do that! :) Thank you!

silverdolphin1221 09-16-2011 01:18 AM

Please Please?!!!!

Please give us an update on date for Android app... or just release it! The last post (in this thread) from a moderator was in March, and stated that you were working on it. What is up?!?!?!?:o

lizeroy 10-04-2011 07:40 AM

Just curious if there is an android app yet. Any new news?

johnnortredamme 11-04-2011 07:35 AM

It's been a while since the android app update was mentioned. It would be great if it was still being planned on being developed.

kristinbyrd04 11-13-2011 12:24 PM

FitDay App for DROID???

iPhone has their app... when do the Droid users get to have an app? Or, is there one out there that I just can't seem to find? I love FitDay! It has really helped me to get healthy and learn about my own body. I know a Droid app would make FitDay that much better for me!

Merged your thread with the existing discussion on the topic. Please search for your question before creating a duplicate thread in the future -- thank you!

Yes, please work on an Android app.

littlethingoddes 11-18-2011 08:03 PM

Me too. I want this app so badly, I'll keep on spamming this post untill I get it :)
Paul it's been a while you haven't addressed the real question: when will the android version be ready??

As you can see I posted in the right thread, you owe me an answer :D

Dscully100 11-19-2011 02:07 AM

I add my plea to the others - fitday is absolutely my food/exercise site of choice, have been using for years and do not want to lose that data to switch to one of the droid apps. Please, please help!

jferrara35 11-26-2011 12:08 PM

Here here. I like fit day but would like to use on my android.

ccbbear 11-27-2011 05:43 PM

I guess they don't like us andriod users. I've had an acct here for over 5 years now. Will breakdown and look into calorie counter and fatsecret.

dtseiler 11-28-2011 01:56 AM

+1 for Android app

dcaron72 11-28-2011 02:22 AM

Why no app for android?

:( Guess if there is no response on when there will be an android app I will need to use something else. That is too bad. I can't believe that there is one for iphone and not one for android.

StonerGrrl 11-28-2011 04:28 PM

Time is running out, Android app now or never

The thing about Android vs. iPhone is that Android is a much larger share of the smartphone market. Android phones have even made their way to Tracfone and non-contract services through Walmart. It really frustrates me that developers make stuff for iPhone first, when in fact iPhone is a smaller share of smartphone users than Android.

Anyway, I would love an Android app. I have spent years accumulating custom foods on FitDay and would hate to give them up. I've tried Android apps like [link removed] that have a very accurate food bar code scanner and are very easy to use. But I'd prefer not to abandon FitDay if I don't have to. Time is ticking. I think FitDay was really onto something great but were too slow to update their features and expand and will be taken over by other brands.
:(

01gt4.6 11-28-2011 04:35 PM

It's starting to look like we may not have an android app any time soon. I thought we would have had it by now.

To be honest, I don't see what the big deal is, I have an iPhone and don't even use the app b/c in my opinion it's much easier to just go online and do it. IMO the app wasn't very user friendly. Maybe it's changed, I don't know. The crazy thing is I wanted the app so bad, that when I got my phone, it was the first app I got, I went on it it and was like "that's it?"

awilli20 11-29-2011 01:59 AM

any app yet?

I just recently bought an Android phone and have been using a different calorie tracker on my phone since I rarely get on my desktop anymore to go onto fitday.com. I would like to stay with fitday especially if you come out with an app or have you already?

volleyballgranny 11-29-2011 05:03 AM

Waiting impatiently here...

This posted in May, 2011--any updates?
PS: This shows my join date as July 2010...I've been using fitday since it came out...Why the lag in the date? I used to use the software (CD), too, but it wouldn't work when I bought my new computer 4 years ago.

volleyballgranny 11-29-2011 05:11 AM

Android here, too...I want the app! It takes too many moves to access fitday over the internet on my phone.

It's not lagging, that's the date that you signed on to the forums.

Scanning a barcode doesn't help when you cook 90% of your meals from 'scratch.' I have access to the online version both at home and at work, but would love an app to be able to do things when I am out and about. I can access the online version from my phone, but it is a pain in the neck.

ladierainy 12-16-2011 08:33 AM

Has this seriously not been created yet? I am sad! :(

ladierainy 12-16-2011 08:37 AM

I really wish that I could see that there was a Droid app for fitday! I'd PAY for the app to be honest!

brownws 12-20-2011 01:17 PM

Another droid user looking for an app

Heck I'd probably even be willing to pay for it:)

swortsoul 01-04-2012 10:48 AM

The biggest feature for having a phone app for me would be a bar code scanner for adding food. I don't know if your iphone does it or not. I've been using another app to track food because of this one feature. Please consider it so I can come back. I would also pay for an android app that did this.

Thanks

LisaLeeD 01-07-2012 12:04 PM

Android App Please

Please add me to the list of people who would really appreciate an app for the Android.:)

BellyWizard 01-09-2012 12:09 PM

Another for Android

Please provide a 'Droid app.

bbutler455 01-10-2012 02:07 AM

Android users should...

I would have never started tracking my health data on Fitday if I had know Fitday was so unresponsive to their customers. The ratio of Andriod to iPhones is 5 to 1. What genius decided to serve ONLY apple users. I have been wating patiently for six months for a plan to serve our droid community... I am getting tired of waiting and am on the verge of going digitally postal.

Should our droid community begin warning other potential fitday customers about fitdays lack of responsiveness? Do we need to get militant?

Fitday - BEWARE! Social networking is a powerful influence... positively and negatively. I urge the droid community to STAND UP and tell Fitday "we are not going to take it anymore"... enough with developing mobile apps for only a small cult of iPhone users.

Viva la revolution!

I've been using this site for a while now. I'm no longer using it any more because the lack of an Android App. I'll be using one of the sites that have the app starting today.

I wonder if FitDay even cares... Which app did you move to? Looks like I will have to change also.

I'm sure it would get deleted if I posted it here. Check your private messages. I don't think they take the feedback seriously. This and the weight gain thread prove that.

It says I joined today, but to prove I'm a legit member my profile is public. This is from when i started in '07.

Have any of you tried contacting FitDay directly? It's worth a shot. You should point them to this thread when you do.

[EDIT] I'm not sure the above link actually works, competing the contact process. So you may also contact FitDay via their E mail:

Any news on a smart-phone app for Androids?

One of my friends just posted on facebook that another site has an Android app that auto-synchs with anything posted on the PC version. Do we have any news about an Android app for fitday? I don't want to change. I don't want to re-enter all of my custom foods. It's frustrating.
