In recent years, athleisure has become increasing popular and perhaps that is in part due to brands partnering with high-profile celebrities. And sometimes it’s not just celebrities promoting the brand's clothing and shoe lines, but also actively collaborating with them on new lines, and below are some of the top celebrity sneaker collaborations.

Rihanna’s FENTY x Puma sneakers were popular, despite the high price tag

In 2016, Rihanna debuted a collection with Puma, and among her creations was a pair of Fenty trainers. These shoes had an extended, higher tongue, and came in three colors: black, white and red, and these high-tops were highly sought-after, despite costing $180 a pair.

Jay Z's fastest selling Reebok S. Carter creation

One of the first major sneaker and celebrity collaborations was between Jay Z (real name Shawn Carter) and Reebok in 2003. The company and the rapper joined forces to create a special, customized sneaker called Reebok S. Carter, a low top shoe, which Sole Collector notes was inspired by the Gucci 84 tennis sneaker. At the time of the release, these shoes were the fastest selling Reeboks.

Kanye West's sought-after Adidas x YEEZY

Kanye West has made headlines for his YEEZY collections (some good, and some bad) but since we are focusing on his sneaker collaboration we can't not mention the Adidas x YEEZY footwear line, which first started in 2015. The first sneakers were the Yeezy Boost 750, Yeezy Boost 350, and Yeezy 950 Duckboot, and according to High Snobiety, in 2018 they released a new version of the Boost 350 called YEEZY BOOST 350 V2, which have already proved to be popular and are millions are scheduled to be restocked by July.

Kylie Jenner debuted Puma Fierce KRM

Kylie Jenner’s affiliation with Puma is rumored to have caused a bit of tension at home because her brother-in-law, Kanye West had a link to Adidas, but that didn’t stop Jenner, and her collaboration has been an interesting one. According to Refinery29, Jenner appeared in a campaign for Puma wearing the lightweight, laceless shoe called Fierce KRM, a trendy shoe which is available in four colors.

Beyoncé's exotic PMK wedge sneaker

The second half of the power couple that is Jay Z and Beyoncé also has a sneaker made in her honor, but Beyoncé did not join forces with Reebok, or anyone really. What did happen is that PMK chose to design an exclusive sneaker for Queen Bey, and according to Elle, the white-and-gold wedge sneakers were crafted using a number of exotic skins, including stingray and anaconda.
