1. Your Muscles are Largely Composed of Protein

In addition to building muscle mass, many people workout in an attempt to burn off excess fat. Eliminating excess fat from your body can help to improve your physique and appearance, even if you are not building significant muscle growth at the same time. Using protein to help build muscle will effectively increase the speed at which your metabolism functions. This means that you'll be more likely to eliminate the excess fat in your body by doing less. You can, in fact, burn more calories and more fat while at rest, if you have more muscle in your body. 

4. Protein Can Help to Suppress the Appetite

Adding protein to your diet for the purposes of muscle building can also help to suppress your appetite slightly. The benefit of this is that you'll be less inclined to consume excess calories. Losing the weight of excess fat and calorie reserves as a result of increasing your workout and suppressing your appetite slightly is a good way to further enhance your workout program.
