Default a scale weigher...

Yeah I'm a little scale obsessed. I try not to weigh in more than once a day. After that I'm being paranoid. If you prefer to be near your scale, it's good to remember that weight changes throughout the day, and with different clothes (if you weigh with clothes on). I used to weigh in once a week thinking looking too much was rather obsessive, and it kind of is... but it's so hard for me to stick to things if I don't get so I check a lot and think about it a lot. I vary by two pounds throughout the day. I was told it's best to weigh in right after you get up in the morning before anything else. It's been good.

Yes, the numbers can sometimes be discouraging but also remember that if exercising a person tends to gain muscle, and that weighs more than fat... or so I'm told... also... muscle helps burn more fat, so muscle is good. Good luck, however you prefer to measure yourself!

Default How do you NOT weigh yourself everyday?

Hi! My name is Coco and I am a weighaholic!

No seriously ladies, I can weigh myself two, three times a day. Will go pee and see if that made me go down .2 pounds, weigh myself with clothes and then without to see how much my clothes weigh. I totally want to go weigh myself right now to see if the sweat I lost from my workout made some sort of difference.

I totally am going to get my womantimes in two days and when I weighed myself this morning I was up five pounds and then up two more this evening. I think I need an intervention and to only weigh myself once a week like a not crazy person. I say this because when I weighed myself, I felt BAD about my weight gain (which help me out here is totally water weight...right?)

Anyways with the scale being more tempting than eating, how do you NOT weigh yourself?

Hi, I myself do not weegde earlier, since this site really only just in the morning in my pjama. And I forget that sometimes when I do that to me if the website is still going to weigh. I never did before for pure whitlow something that I'd go every day if I weigh more than you become gefrustreed as soon as you're nothing to fall after a workout. While there is time for your body need.

Perhaps an idea to do away the scales? or once a day but get up? or once a week at a friend?

I used to do the same thing. Weighing myself sometimes more then 5 times a day.

Throw the scales out!!!

Then you can only way yourself ever so often (at the gym etc). Even if your still doing it once a day. It's an improvement.

Its best not to focus on how much you weigh. Instead how your clothes fit (tighter or looser then before) and how you feel.

I know its easier said then done though!

Hello, I can relate to weighing too often myself. I do not do it now. Only loosing 15 pounds in 7 months got too discouraging to get on the scale so often. Now I weigh when I am brave or strong enough to face not seeing a loss. I do measure and the last time I had lost 14 inches overall and at the time only 10 pounds lost so inches do say much more than the scale. I have heard you will weigh more after a work out and should wait several hours to weigh or better the next day.

Im a scaleaholic as well...but I can keep it to once a day. The only thing I would suggest is to hide the scale somewhere you have to really really have to work at it to get at it. If you listen to Dr Oz...he says that measuring is your best tool..now that I can do once a week, but , only because I know I wont lose an inch over night..but can in a week.

I weigh every morning right before I jump in the shower....It's my understanding that you weigh less first thing in the morning.

I agree with Dr. Oz. I have seen women work their tails off at the gym, eat sensibly and then go weigh themselves and feel like failures. Some become so discouraged, they throw the towel in. Not good! I do weigh myself, sometimes daily (when I'm being obsessive), but it really is more reliable to measure using a tape measure and try on too tight clothes once a week. I think sometimes when I'm cutting calories, I'm anxious for instant feedback from the scales and I forget that it took a few weeks to add the extra weight and it takes time for the effort to show up on the scale. And if I'm lifting weights and adding muscle, over time I can shrink and the scale just isn't reliable in measuring lean body mass as opposed to fat tissue.

I weigh myself once a day, first thing in the morning right as I'm getting in the shower, but I only write it down once a week. If I forget, I don't weigh later. I know I weigh less in the morning than I do at the end of the day. It's normal for the scale to go up and down by a few pounds during the day as you eat, drink, and use the bathroom. That's probably why we weigh the least in the morning, after we've fasted through the night. If you measured yourself with a tape measure 5 times a day, you'd get frustrated too.

actually i just read something on another site that says you should weigh yourself often it fools the body into thinking you dont need to store fat so wheny you get on that scale just remember that its not the number thats inportant but the fact your fooling your brain into thinking your body should burn more calories, i just went and got a scale today. my brain needs alot of fooling lol

just a thought
