Thank you for starting off this particular, Erina. It's going to be a long, 190lb journey onward in my opinion, and also I will merely hope it is since gratifying since the primary two and a half 2 or 3 weeks happen to be, and this I've got such as your own and also Boo's achievement.
Our restricted illustrates will be in the signature bank, nevertheless I'm hoping on an world famous history to share with because of the period I am done. I am truly thankful there may be a skilled group to reach out to once the certain tough times come. |
New here . . . Found FitDay last week.
Have come to terms that I need to do this for me. Starting off with a daily calorie budget and walking 5x a week for 1 hour. |
Starting my journey today.
Hi,
I am starting my journey to a healthier me today. I have never joined a weight loss forum before. I hope to find encouragement and support from others while also hopefully helping others. I have lost weight and gained it back many times, but I am still hopeful that I can become a healthier me. Starting Weight - 7/29/13 - 234.2 lbs :o |
Hello Everyone! I just want to take time today to encourage everyone to take time for yourself and reflect over all your achieves you have made over the year(s). At my heaviest I was 322lbs. Today I can't break away from 290 when stepping on the scale at the doctor's office. My doctor doesn't comment on my weight other then, I'm looking good, and he can tell I'm getting smaller. I came to the conclusion that it's because in one year I was able to lose 7%, and on my second year I was able to keep off another 1%
My next yearly weigh in will be in April. It's looking like another 2% kept off :) |
The Official
I've been pretty good this week, but last Friday and Saturday at camp I figure my intake was greater than my calorie burn so we'll see at weigh-in. I'd be happy to see 309/310 but less would be better!
|
the funny thing about weight loss , is that all people seem to know it. but very few people follow it
what say ??? |
So true. I heard a wonderful quote from John Bogle (famous investor) that 'Dieting is simple. But it's not easy.' He said it in the context of a discussion about investing. Follow some simple rules and stick to them; sounds simple but it's not easy!
With dieting, it's 'Eat less - eat fewer calories, and move more - exercise.' With investing, I don't know, 'Buy low, sell high'? |
Hi, everyone. I am starting this again, hoping this time I can stick with it. Things are a little different this time. My teenage son is going to the gym with me 3x/week. There are days when I don't feel like going, but he gets me to go. We'd like to go more, but our schedule right now just isn't allowing for it. We do a weight/cardio circuit that is 30 minutes long. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I am seriously out of shape. I have never included the exercise before, just eating better. I'm hoping with the exercise it becomes more permanent of a lifestyle change. I have at least 127 more to go, maybe even 140 more. Hoping this time things really click and I see good results for my efforts. Good luck and do well everyone!
|
May I join this thread as well
Hi everyone,
I have been motivated and doing this on my own since the beginning of January and am down 20 pounds. I am finding this time that it is harder to produce the results I did 4 years ago (and put 45 of 80 back on). I am realizing it is the kitchen where I am falling down. I joined here yesterday to start a food journal, and have done something today I swore I'd never do. I bought a food scale!! (no more guessing ) I turned 50 in January and want to celebrate my 100th in health and style! |
congratulations on the success and progress that may have been obtained with fitday I also managed to

thanks
Thanks for that extra link, Michael. I didn't have time to go way into his stuff this morning, crazy day today.
IF you lose like those guys on biggest loser, you may have been 450, 475 no telling. Did you know you can use two scales and combine the two weights? I learned that from the HealthStewards guy... what's his name, Dr. Nick. Lost hundreds of pounds on a liquid diet. I would love to do Tai Chi!! One of the strangest things I've noticed since I put on this last 25 pounds (besides knees on fire, hips creaking, and a complete lack of stamina) is that I've lost my balance. I sort of careen through the world, crashing into things, onto things. I used to experience the same thing when I lost a lot of weight fairly quickly. Weird stuff. I've lost my center of gravity or something. |
Hi Michael,
I am returning because I am trying to lose weight again. I cannot work anymore because my knees are so bad.....I now weight 317lbs. I thank all of you for your encouragement. Hope to do it this time. I am 59 years old so it's going to be a uphill battle for me. 04/30/2014. 317.4lbs |
looks oky fit and helthy
looks oky fit and helthy by today

I agree. Tell me is there a way to find out what to eat to meet the calorie goal? This system tells me that I need to eat 2700 calories a day to reach my goal.
|
What system is telling you that?
Fitday will give you a calorie goal to reach your goal weight by a date that you specify. |
I'm fairly new the boards on Fitday.com but not to the website itself. I've used it off and on for a couple of years. When I use it, I do really well. Then I fall off the proverbial wagon.
I realized (again) that my weight was getting out of control. In November 2013, I was at my heaviest at 363. Since then, without a huge amount of effort other than cutting out dark soft drinks and caffeine, I lost about 20 lbs. Since September 10th, I've recommitted myself to my weight loss. I've cut out all soft drinks except for about once a week or so (I only buy one at a time or have one when out to eat) and drink water instead. I'm keeping between 80-100 oz of water a day. I'm walking almost every day plus just generally getting off the couch more. I'm eating smaller portions and recording all my food in my food journal. I've set some mini goals to meet to make losing 208 lbs (from the 363 in November) seem a little less intimidating. I've gotten some great tips from here. Thanks and good luck to everyone! |
Just cutting down on the soft drinks is a huge step. Good for you!

I want to lose weight. I am trying to lose but fails regulate or break continuity of my hard work. These parties, Fast food any suggestion to avoid or sometimes I lose hope and start eating again. |
We all have those problems: parties, holidays, losing focus. Keep to the goal and you can do it!
|
Ugh! Trying hard to get out of the 340s and get my BMI under 50. I'm so close and just keep hovering at the edge. Today starts a new week so it's time to really make sure I focus.
Got up and did about 45 mins of aerobic exercise this morning before getting ready for church. I'll try to go for a walk this evening as well. Didn't get to walk yesterday morning since I was at the farmer's market all morning. I WILL get over this hurdle! |
grateful
At first I was going to skip this thread because I didn't have that much weight to lose and I respect that my troubles are likely different than those with 100+ pounds to lose. Then I realized that I did actually hit that benchmark this year- I left my job and my dad died and I ate mindlessly right through size after size at a shocking rate. By the time I came up for air, I didn't recognize myself anymore. I got breathless doing simple things and even washing myself became a logistical nightmare. I reigned in my mindless eating and started walking, and I started getting smaller, but it took months to work up the nerve to stand on a scale again so I honestly don't know what my max was. I restarted fitday at 232.2 and I'm down to 221.4 this morning with at least another 70 to go. It sucks, it's hard, it's having to think about everything I eat and trying to get myself to workout when it's so uncomfortable, but I'm so grateful I'm not doing it alone. You guys rock.
|
You lost ten pounds! As hard as it is, as much as it sucks to diet, you know you are successful - enjoy that feeling...
|
motivation?
What works best for you guys as far as mini-goal setting? 10 or 20 pound increments? Percentages? Clothing sizes?
|
For me: the tinier the goal, the better. Lots of positive reinforcement there.

Back on the grin !!

I'm positive that I am listed earlier in this thread, but it is too deep to find. I'm back!
Actually I have been back for a couple of months. Three months since my heart attack and diabetes diagnosis. I am trying to remember to record everything, but some days get away from me with all the alarms and buzzers going off. Alarms for meds, buzzers to remind me to test, appointments for procedures and I can't forget my daily exercise. Cooking has become an adventure rather than the throwing together of something edible. I prepare my own low sodium, low sugar, spice mixes and rubs. I make low fat, low sodium, low sugar, muffins and waffles. I am also trying to keep all the doctors happy with my diet and exercise. One says "yes" while the other says "no" leaving me scratching my head and trying to wing it. So far my success has been from 330lbs on July 1 to 308lbs this morning. My final goal has me at 200lbs, and I will reassess at that time. It doesn't much matter because the diet is for life. So is the exercise. |
Thats it Annette, one day at a time....like your medicine, take a minute to log it will help with weight loss...
|
Thank you Michael
Thank you all 100+ Losers.
I want to be honest and tell my story as part of my process. I was multiply sexual abused as a child, I never liked being attractive to anyone or drawing attention to myself but everyone would always say over the years and extra extra extra weight you have such a kind smile, you'd be so pretty if you lost weight. Always the guys friend never the girlfriend. For all the trauma I went through I know the Lord blessed me with the man I was to marry. Still overweight he didn't care even at 307 Lbs. I was always afraid to have weight loss surgery because my mother did when it first came out lots of complications etc she ended up at 98 lbs and when she died young they listed her as obese. I couldn't breath, had 0 stamina, also dealing with fibromalagia, Rhuematoid Arthritis, etc... I knew I personally would never get the weight off with no stamina etc. I opted for the gastric sleeve. I am grateful I had it I went from 307 down to 230 and still plugging away. I still don't eat carbs maybe a little brown rice lots of protein powder etc. able to walk 3 miles yahoo !!! and all the little things you can now do that you couldn't do before like tying your shoes the right way. thanks for listening to me GOD bless you all. |

Please I am here to ask for your support on this difficult journey. God bless you all.
Jennifer It sounds like you have the motivation you need to change your life. I have been there... my highest weight was 355 lbs. If you have bad knees, swimming is a great way to get low impact exercise. I lost the first 60 lbs of my weight just by swimming a few times a week, and journaling my food intake. Keep us posted on your progress :) |
Thank you VirusInside.
I definately won't be a starnger here. This site is very helpful and the people seem so nice ^-^ Goodjob on your progress so far! |
How to Drop Bodyweight Speedy Without the Need Of Exercising
Working out is most likely one of the better approaches to shed pounds. Not everyone has the energy to work out, however. Strenuous days it is hard to go to the gym when all you want to do is sit on the couch eating a pint of ice cream thinking about how much money you would win if you replaced one of the idiots on Wheel of Fortune if you are working long.
“How can I lose weight fast if you are wondering? ” you may not require to determine in the beginning. Just cleaning your diet plan can help you lose weight quickly, and shed weight straightforward. The first tip I have is by far the most important if you need to lose weight: beverage your water. Remaining hydrated maintains you motivated and healthy. Certainly one of the best tips in relation to fat loss is “Don’t drink your calorie consumption”. Two big opponents of dieting are Soft drink, and Alcoholic drinks. The two include empty calorie consumption that needs to be averted. Let’s say you consume 3 bottles of cola on a certain day. Which is about 550 empty energy, which may be place to improve use. Try it out for your self. Pick a time where you eat food and drinks as you usually would, and at the end of the morning learn and record the number of calories came from beverages by itself. The final results may surprise you. The subsequent tip is always to keep track of your energy and other healthy content material daily. In case you are wanting to know “How do i lose weight quickly? “, this is crucial. First, off, find out how many calories a day you need to meet your goals. The most accurate way is to use a BMR calculator online, although there are different formulas to do this. Typically a person puts in their height, age and weight and estimated daily activity level. From here, someone then is aware of the number of calories every day to lose weight, sustain body weight, and put on pounds. So find your number and stick to it. Keep track of everything and be sure you don’t look at your desired caloric intake. Effectively because our company is ingesting lots of normal water and know how many calories a day we should eat, lets decide what things to consume. It is important right here when responding to how to lose weight fast is to consume food products that provde the most value for your money. Let’s compare as an example, chicken breasts and peanut butter. Both of these foods are great options, but there is a difference here. A fowl breast, dependant upon sizing, will usually have any where from 110 calories to 200 calories. Peanut butter, nonetheless, generally has 200 energy for two tablespoons. Both of these foods are good and healthy options, but in this situation it most likely would be better to go with the chicken breast. Why? You will be much more satisfied and stay full longer if you decide to eat the chicken because you are consuming fewer calories and yet more food as well. This is why eating healthy is important when dieting because, among other things, you can normally reach your caloric goals and be full at the same time. Let’s say you may have pizza for lunch time. You drill down in, caring each and every chew, until you understood you just consumed a lot of energy. Here you go, 1 pm and you can only try to eat 400 a lot more energy for the rest of the day. Your eyesight fill up with tears. You begin to yell expletives in the pizzas, wondering why it might betray you like that. So, you can either starve yourself, or eat normally and eat more calories, and thus, gain weight. May sound like a shed-shed if you ask me. Try to eat healthy, drink your drinking water, and count up your calories. Pursuing these simple measures will change you right into a far healthier person, and will allow you to respond to the concern, “How to lose weight quickly? “. see more :) |
Hello - new to the site
Hey there!
I'm new to the community - I looked at the Atkins site and didn't want to fully commit to their specific diet plan - I'm doing more of a low carb/Paleo style diet myself although I'm not going very high in fat at this point. I have a goal of 225 lbs to lose, so it is going to be a long journey, especially since the first part of it depends largely on dietary changes and very low impact exercises as I am already suffering a lot of physical limitations caused my physical deterioration caused by my weight. I've never signed on to "fad" diets, and I'm looking for a whole new eating lifestyle. Having jumped in with both feet, I am already seeing that this is going to completely change the way I plan and prepare meals, and schedule my days in general. I feel like my lifestyle requires me to be much more attention to how long I wait to eat now if I am going to end up eating the right amount and feel contented by it. I need to pay attention to eating the right snacks, and at the right times to keep my energy level up. I have to think about beverages and condiments, and think ahead about what I will eat if I am not going to be at home. I am ready, though - because if I am unsuccessful, the only option I have is bariatric surgery. There is no room for messing around for me - my 14 year old daughter is already up to 200 lbs. Motivation is not a problem. |
I hope you don't mind me dropping in for some support. I weighed in this week the heaviest i have ever been at 210lbs. i really would like to get to back to the 110 lbs i weighted a few years back which will see me a then bottom level of my healthy bmi which gives me some wriggle room to pray around again. i love the acountability of posting on here and i wish all you 100lbs or more folks have every success. its good to be on board though i wanted to introduce myself to you all. Reading your stories is really inspiring
best wishes Christina xxxx |
Never give up
I will be 80 in May of 2015, and still struggle to control my weight. Every diet book published has likely found a place in my home, in fact my late hubby used to joke that if I took out every diet book and then put them back in the shelves I would have had a great exercise. I would really like to get below 150 which is a goal I've not reached in the last ten years, and my short term goal is to lose down to 200. My peak weight was 273 in 2008, and my lowest weight since has been 220 in 2011, when I had my first mastectomy. After the second one in 2012 almost a year to the day, I was at 233. In January of 2013 I lost my hubby and began eating for any reason imaginable. My weight had gone up to 259 in Jan this year when I realized my folly in consoling myself with food just because I didn't care how I looked anymore. I am a great-great grandmother of 3 to date and expecting to add another in May. I want to see these children grow and become the lovely adults their parents are (I have 15 great grands.) My weight is currently 256.6 so I have to get serious about my eating. Any encouragement will be appreciated.

You can do it but it will take time. When you eat fewer calories and increase physical activity (even a little bit of increase will be beneficial), you will lose weight. Along the way, there will be temptations - but you can't afford to give in to them; giving in will only set you back.
It will take time and what's frustrating is that it doesn't happen as quickly as we want. With focus, it will happen. Use the support available to you. Take all the messages from the diet books (they all amount to eating fewer calories, no matter how you slice it) and get your doctor to be your partner in your campaign to lose weight. Every time you 'fall off the wagon,' you will regret it. So, come here for encouragement and you will find plenty of it! You CAN do it. Good luck!! |
I understand about loosing weight, gaining weight we don't want or have control of, we exercise, we do everything we suppose to do, fitness and being healthy, and we still gain weight, I need to loose 100+ lbs to be healthy.

Green coffee bean extract reviews
When I started taking this , I weighed in at 198 lbs. In four weeks, I lost 6 lbs without changing anything.:D I have to say, however, that I have since modified my diet to continue this weight loss so I'm watching what I eat and work out an hour a day. I will check in again to update my results. I have read a lot of the reviews and all I can say that not everything works for everyone. I used to use something that you sprinkle on foods before you eat it and gave me severe stomach cramps. I am using the Dietworks GCB extract with svetol.
