Default Thank you for the encouragement!

You all are so wonderfully encouraging! It is so great to be of like mind that IT CAN BE DONE!

The alternative really is NOT an alternative.

I just watched the Joe Cross documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. It is so motivating. Highly recommended! Even if only for the motivation of watching someone struggle with food/weight and declare Victory!

Rally On!

Not to steal you from this thread but there is a great motivational thread in the women's only section too that you might want to check out.
Hi April! Which thread is it? Can you post the link ? XO Cecilia

02/05/2012 273lbs -13lbs

Total loss thus far is 182lbs, i originally though my starting weight was 440, but when going back over my starting date i realized it was 445.

One month away from my 1 year anniversary, if all goes as planned, i should reach 190lbs loss in 1 year which is far more than ever expected.

Clay, glad to see you're still doing awesome! I'm kind of in the doldrums right now, going up and down a few pounds. Of course, I've eaten more and not done a whole lot of exercise this winter so it's to be expected. It's hard to maintain a huge calorie deficit when your BMR is down to 2300 cals or thereabouts! But, spring is just around the corner and I'll be much more active. Pretty doubtful I'll see the 170s by my two year anniversary in May, but we'll see.

Keep up the good work, my friend, and keep us posted!

Regards,
Michael

What's up?... It has been a while since I last posted as life is hectic but things are going really well... Tomorrow is my 10 month anniversary and I am down 132 lbs. Woot! I am shooting for 150 for the year anniversary but I am not going to sweat it too much (I'm also running in a half marathon on the year anniversary as I thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate).

One other thing I thought I would share is that I have found that yoga has been a bit of a life changer for me... I highly recommend. I have become a bit of a workout-aholic, I run 3x, do yoga 2x, and weight train 2x a week. 10 months ago, I was barely getting exercise at all, the change is drastic and terrific.

I have been thinking about y'all a lot lately and thought I would just say hello. Hey Michael... great to see you keeping it off! Clay, you are killing it, keep it up.

That is insane! Absolutely amazing and very inspiring.
182lbs in less than a year. Where's a trophy when you need one.

Michael,

at 182, it will be cake (pun intended)to get to 175 by May (end of?). That's only 7 lbs.

You still have essentially almost 3 months. You can do it!

Thanks, i am still kinda surprised myself..it seems like it took forever, but when i look back, i'm like, damn a year already. When i saw that i might hit 190lbs for the year, i started wishing i would have pushed harder for 200lbs...haha..but overall i am happy, and i know i will have to continue to eat the same way for the rest of my life, which for me is okay, i found a system that works and i'm sticking to it.

Well, I should update that--a trip to camp and 10 days on vacation took their toll, so I have just about twice that to hit 175

But, that's OK--this is a lifetime thing and I need to be able to deal with going off-track for a bit. Unlike the "other" times, I'm right back on plan and heading back down.

My two year anniversary is, IIRC, May 5th so 14 lbs. off in six weeks at this stage of the game is a little optimistic but possibly by my birthday on May 25th and that would be cool, we'll see!

Regards,
Michael

Just joined the site, and it is so motivating to see others with such ambitious goals.

At my heaviest I was 295 (19, Winter '08)
Lightest 230 (21, Spring 10')
Currently I'm 265 ish
My longterm goal is 140lbs. 115lbs by New Years.

As a lifelong dieter, I have finally come to a place where I am motivated, dedicated, and really friggin' want a lifestyle change. I have been on/off vegitarian/vegan/freegan for years, but I am finally making the commitment to a Vegan lifestyle. I may even go raw for the summer!

I do yoga at least once a week, transitioning to an everyday thing. Nature hikes are my main form of excercise, but as soon as I get my breaks fixed on my bike, It will be like it is attatched to me.

I'm excited, I can't wait, and it is so nice to have a community to turn to when need be.
