Good morning lovelies!!! I'm not a Nascar fan but I much say that yesterday reminded me of Nascar. CRASH AND BURN. I have a bad feeling that today will look the same because I'm about to to pick up donuts for the chirrens and their friends.

Rose, I'm glad that you are back but I'm waiting to see the pics of what's been happening over the past couple weeks.

That's so funny that you mentioned peanut M&M's. Throughout this whole weight-loss journey, that has been one of my hardest things to overcome! I had a bad habit of always buying a bag of peanut M&M's every time I was in a checkout line. I still miss them! Gee, thanks for reloading that craving back into my brain!! (...just kidding!)

Mike don't you worry about your crashes, they're always brief and totally repairable. Remember, you are a rockstar!

Here's a little taste of my NYC photo essay...

You've got a good East Village night scene, the Fall foliage, the WTC in mid construction, a self portrait of the Schnoodle and me road tripping, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

P.S. I went to B&H and played with a bunch of cameras. I've made a decision on the next camera I am going to buy. Very exciting!! It's not a DSLR, it's a Micro Four Thirds and I love it. It's the Olympus Pen EP-3. I just have to save up for it now...

I personally was touched by your PM. Of course I had been thinking about you all (somewhat obsessively) and since I had fallen off the wagon so miserably I was too embarrassed to come back here and fess up to my gluttony. When I got that message from you, it really hit home. We've all gone up and down and this is the last place I'll be judged, plus being in contact with all of you, sharing our challenges, celebrating our victories, is such a valuable part of my success. Slow and steady wins the race, so even if I take a break, getting back in the race is what counts the most.

I am so happy to be back here with all of you! I really want to let go of my unhealthy relationship with food and get back to my exercise routine.

Thanks to all of you Motivators for being here!
I feel the exact same way. Even though we all have never met, we are a big, kooky, oddball dysfunctional family. I'm so lucky to have found this support as well. There's no way that I could have maintained for this long without the support of people going through the same thing.

So glad you're back and I hope everything settles down for you now.

Just put my Thanksgiving turkey in the oven... WHAT???? IT'S NOT THANKSGIVING TODAY??? Just kidding! I drew the straw to prepare a brunch for Thanksgiving, but my family would cry if they didn't get their turkey, so I'm roasting one today. The house smells amazing! (18 pounds worth for 4 people!) I bought a big one so that I would have lots of left-overs. No terribly fattening sides... just the required mashed potatoes and stuffing. Should be ready around 3:00... yum.

Made a big dent in my Christmas shopping this weekend which makes me feel a little more in control. Son and his wife are getting a check, so that cut my Christmas shopping in half right there. Daughter is 70% done. Dragged hubby out in an ice storm at 8pm last night to check out a microwave a Home Depot... he wasn't happy, but I was! I scored a great deal! Poor thing has off this Friday... little does he know that he has to come with me on Black Friday for the mini fridge!!! LOL Poor thing. I'll entice him with an early breakfast out before I spring it on him. He won't notice that anything is up until he sees the full parking lots... lol

Time to get moving and get some things done before the Packer game at noon.

Enjoy your day, all!

Rose, did you take the pics with your phone? If so, how did you slow the shutter speed in the first pic?

DITTO!

Saturday was fair-to-middlin' (as my granpa used to say). I did a nice Crossfit work out at home so at least I stuck with my exercise routine. Today (Sunday) I had planned on a long run but the weather took a turn for the worst and we are having yucky wet snow. I have running gear for cold weather, and even for dry snowy weather, but wet snow is a case of hypothermia waiting. (I am the mountain house, BTW - don't don't have much snow in SoCal )

Mike, somewhere I read that peanut M&Ms were among the smartest choices for an attack by the sweet tooth - not that a pound of them is a good idea... but I think they are much better than a butterfinger blast. Oh Quinn, I didn't mean to reinforce the image in your brain, so forget I wrote this immediately.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... good beer and wine are my total downfall. I am lucky that I don't have much of a sweet tooth - those blast things Mike craves sound like a headache in a glass to me, but offer me a lovely glass of sirah or home brewed IPA and it is all over but the crying.

Diet and fitness:
1.) 2 pieces of fruit every day
Y,Y Y, Y, Y, Y
2.) 1 quart of water (just plain water) everyday. Coffee, tea, propel, etc don't count
Y, Y, Y, Y(and then some), NO, but in my defense I intentionally kept the volume low since I had a 5 hour drive ahead of me and I didn’t want to stop every half hour to pee., Y
3.) Protein @40% or 90g
28%(92g), 30%(92g), 33% (88g). 29% (110g) 26% (123g) 20% (80g)
4.) Carbs @ 30%
31%, 30%, 27%. 25%, 38%, 36%
5.) No white foods including rice, potatoes, or bread
Y, Y,Y, N (roasted potatoes), N more potatoes – baked and to make it worse, stuffed. Y
6.) Limit beer and wine to 1 glass with dinner
Y, Y, Y(0), N (3, had to try the cousins’ home brew then went for Italian food – 2 glasses of wine), N really falling off this one, not 2, not 3 but 4 glasses – dang that DH and his delicious homebrew, Sat: 2(getting stronger)
Home, work & life:
1.) Order DH Christmas & B'day gifts (his is the 26th the poor guy)
not yet, 2 down, 2 more
2.) Try 1 new recipe this week,
Not yet,Thurs: nope still not yet, No, Y roasted butternut squash with carmelized onions and thyme, very good!
3.) Clip the kitty's claws (hate this chore, probably more than they hate it)
1 kitty, whew… 2nd kitty quite the battle
4.) Pay bills including the Property Taxes - yikes!
Y-taxes, Y-bills paid (no fun $ left), oops hitting the checking acct a little too hard
5.) Finish 2 remaining study plans for this year's research
1 down, Not the 2nd – waiting for the student to finish her plan… probably not this week
6.) Remain faithful to the plan over the weekend
Not off to a great start if Friday counts as the weekend. Not as bad as it could be, calories are staying below 1800 which is good.
7.) Be kind to crabby people.
M- Didn’t meet any, T-smiled a lot at the Post Office, I think that counts. W, so far so good, but I didn’t meet any really crabby people. Th: Yes indeed, DH was in a foul mood and I managed to just smile, Sat: Didn’t see any
I've got lots of computer stuff today - work, Christmas shopping, planning for our cross country ski trip to Glacier NP, among others, so I'll probably log in a little later to check up as the weekend winds down.

Oh, Pam, thanks for the picture; it made me smile!

Rose, I am so glad you're back, and thanks for the pictures! They are awesome!

We landed at the House of Schizophrenic Food shortly after lunch today. I haven't yet plumbed the depths of the pantry, but it's always good for some food porn. There's a huge cinnamon streusel cake on the counter, though, but I've been good so far. I did a half hour on the elliptical at the hotel last night but I think I'll take today off. Eating has been off and on, a bit of stress eating's crept in and I've had a lot of things I couldn't identify the nutritional content for, but I'm planning to try to log the best I can and stay on here this week. Tomorrow I'm grocerying with my mom; we have 25 for Thanksgiving here Thursday and then 18-20 the following night. I can't wait to see my extended family .

Sounds like everyone's doing well; Quinn, congrats on the deals! I am mainly an online shopper and I've never done Black Friday "live" so let me know how it went!

Amy, you are pounding your goals this week, congrats to you!

Best to everyone; sorry for being a weekend slacker (and Thursday, and Friday...) .

I missed the gym b/c we decided to go fishing. Unfortunately the boat broke down and we've been trying to make it back to the launch for a while. I hope to make it back soon b/c I'm getting hungry. The little pack of peanuts isn't holding me over.
