Mern My daughter’s pace maker is five years old so they need to check it every couple of months it will need replaced soon, we tease her that if we hear her chest beeping we promise to get her a new battery. I know it sounds dark but we have to laugh or we would be stressed out all the time and it truly will audibly beep if it stops operating can you imagine sitting at the dinner table and your chest starts to beep,
the pacemaker clinic Dr’s test it so of course they will catch it before that happens. I am glad to hear your grandson is fine I hope he feels better soon.
Rose I am glad your calories worked out.
Lizzie I am sure up and down stairs carrying things is pretty good exercise. Thanks for sharing some of your history and your trip sound amazing and heartbreaking.
Mike Thanks for the pep talk.
Quinn Way to go on a great food day.
Joanna Nice goal day.
Ok it took me 45 min just to read everything sorry if I missed anyone but wow lot’s happened here today. So I got half the tomatoes used today. I peeled and seeded 30 and made a smooth tomato sauce it was ridiculously time consuming
it better taste amazing. I used 30 more, skinned them and made a chunky spaghetti sauce that was great and got half eaten at dinner tonight. I brought the rest of the chives and oregano inside and tomorrow I will finish drying them and use the rest of the tomatoes .I hope you all have a great night.
Goals

1. 80oz water daily M: Yes, T: Yes, W: Yes,
2. No stuffing junk in my mouth M: Yes, T: Yes, W: no, not horribly but bad enough
3. Exercise when hubby leaves for work Weds-Fri M/T: N/A, W: Yes, Th: Yes,
4. Limit to one diet soda daily M: Yes, T: Yes, W: Yes,
5. No added salt on my plate except specific foods M: Yes, T: Yes, W: Yes,
Life Goals
1. Do something outside 3 times this week M: No, T: No, W: Raining,
2. Cross-stitch project 3 times this week M: No, T: No, W: Yes,
3. Put lotion on feet nightly M: Yes, T: Yes, W: Yes,
Worked out again this morning (50min). Felt awesome. Still really feeling that extra weight in my arm exercises. I am hoping that it helps with the wings that I have developed!
Couldn't go for a walk yesterday due to rain and it looks like today and tomorrow might be out too. Supposed to rain the rest of the week
... Hopefully I can get outside and do something in the yard on the weekend. Not sure though because Saturday is our 18th anniversary. I don't have plans made but I'm not sure if he does. Sunday I am dragging him to a pet expo with rescue organizations and vendors and agility and demonstrations.
Mern ... I'm glad to hear that it is nothing serious for your grandson and I'm sure he isn't protesting taking a few days off school
Quinn ... That is so nice of you to make a dinner for the guy who's wife is in the hospital. That definitely counts as a random act of kindness! Also good job on researching and finding that caffeine. I probably would have never thought to look there. I hear you on cooking with your son. I love cooking with my kids. I hope that by the time they leave the nest they are more than able to fend for themselves. I have a friend whose kids are 14 & 19 and they still don't even get in the fridge on their own. SMH
Rose .... Score! Good thing you reviewed your food log and found that error. You were feeling down over nothing.
Lizzie ... Housework counts in my book. As long as you are up and moving you are burning calories. Especially as in your case and mine steps are involved. ... I can't imagine visiting those cemetaries and the other places that you mentioned. I would be an emotional wreck.
Darlene ... Good job on those tomatoes & herbs. I really should start to do more with mine than throw them in salad! Maybe next year, they are done for this year.

jj: I'm so glad you got to enjoy your chocolate with no guilt! Woohoo! I hope you got in a lovely bike ride or gym time (either is great!)
Darlene, Mike, Cassie (and Main80!): So glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like Nutella! I have tried it several times, but I just find it to have a really off-putting taste. I think it's the hazelnut. I am not a nut fan (except for peanuts). It's not only the texture, but the taste of many of them that turns me off. I keep trying as I KNOW they are good for me, but I just hate them. Walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, you name it - I hate it! Peanut butter is my dangerous substance.
Darlene: Sorry that makeup makes your face all splotchy, that stinks. I try to use light mineral-based makeup and I found it helps a lot, but you have to do what's best for you. GREAT JOB with your tomatoes!! Sounds like SO MUCH WORK but it will be worth it. I hope that everything goes smoothly for your DD - I think it's perfectly normal and healthy to joke about things like that, it really does help you deal - it helps no one to be morose about it. Big hugs for you!
quinn: I never would have thought that liquids would be my "secret weapon" in controlling hunger, but they really are. Now it's just become a habit - feeling hungry? DRINK. A year ago I would have been like PSH YEAH RIGHT but it's amazing what a little water can do for me.
Rose: Sorry about your computer problems -- stupid Lion!!! I think that we're all on to something here with the teaching - I know that when I get the opportunity to teach, I like to add in a lot of stories an anecdotes. I also once had a teacher who went out of her way to link concepts to "current events" news stories - politics, entertainment, nothing was off-limits. And it was a chemistry class!!! It was amazing how much more I cared when she could relate it to something less abstract in my life. And HA about the iphones. Someone on my facebook posted a really good quote this morning: "Food. Water. Shelter. Air. Sleep. Societal inflation has expanded need into greed. Suddenly the basic survival needs also include a cell phone, cable tv and French manicured fingernails...we've become the absolute biggest whiners of all human history with the absolute smallest justification for whining."-Charlie Diekatze. And it starts with kids...
Also, glad that your over-day ended up being a not-over-day! I love days like that!! It's like finding 5 bucks in the dryer - you know it's been yours all along, but it still feels like a score!
Mern: Salivary glad infection sounds like it stinks - I hope he's able to eat okay! I hadn't heard about making lunch the biggest meal - I just know it works for me. Glad that someone else thinks so!
It wouldn't surprise me if it aids in digestion - I have a lot of intenstinal issues and making lunch my big meal really is the only way to avoid them - if I eat a huge breakfast or dinner, the bathroom and I are going to be fast friends that day.
Mike: Looks like you're having a great week so far! Good job, but go buy that battery mister!!
The OCD doesn't bother me, in fact I'm sort of happy it's noticed, as it's probably the goal that I have to force myself to do every morning (everything else is becoming habit). So thanks for noticing!
April: Great job on working out - I love feeling it for a day or two afterwards! Hope you get your walk in!! Also HAPPY EARLY ANNIVERSARY since I won't be here Saturday to do it on time!

Terri You had me all excited when you said that your “secret weapon” in controlling hunger was drink……..then you mentioned water!!! Oh well I’ll put the cork back in the wine bottle then lol.
Mike Are you saying that your home is haunted? Creepy, and with Halloween coming do the ghosts get busier?
Here are some pics of the cemeteries

April Congratulations on 18 years that’s great!
Terri Have a great weekend I hope you enjoy your visit and the wedding will be beautiful I am sure. Congrats on your 53lb loss that’s fantastic.
Jjeand The mess never ends mine are adults still at home and I seem to have as much mess as when they were little now I just have mess and attitude.
Lizzie” “secret weapon” in controlling hunger was drink… Oh well I’ll put the cork back in the wine bottle then lol.” Oh my I so agree with you to bad it couldn’t be true lose 10lbs this month by drinking wine now there’s a crash diet I would try.
Well I hope today improves so far I feel like I should of just stayed in bed.
I speak it was the wrong thing to say. I pick something up they just put it down you know. I start laundry I was going to have shower thanks. I opened the mail box to a $540 bill from hubbys insurance for dental that should of been covered with the way today is going I will wait and call tomorrow. My hubby took the car it's pouring rain so no gym for me today.Ok enough I am depressing myself now I guess I should go finish my tasks, walk on the treadmill and then reward myself by locking the bedroom door with my cup of coffee and a computer game.
Hope you all have a great day.

Not quite sure how to rate my day. I only had time for one meal (tonight). And then, I probably ate my full 1200. So, although it's not the best way to eat, I probably did OK. Tomorrow will, most likely, be just as busy. *sigh*
Goals for the week... with a little bit of punishment mixed in:
1. Calories between 1000-1200; LOG EVERYTHING, NO EXCUSES! Yes, Yes, Yes, A little hard to tell, but I think I'm OK.
2. 90 oz. of water a day, no excuses. Yes, Yes, Yes, probably 70ish
3. NO BREAD FOR ONE WEEK, which will force me to eat the things that I should be eating instead. Yes, Yes, Yes, but it was hard today! None again today (day 4
)
4. No butter, margarine, spreads... nothing. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
5. Take all vitamins and supplements; don't skip the big, nasty ones. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
6. Quit making excuses for falling off the wagon, even on weekends. There are no excuses... you've just been lazy and undisciplined. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes

jjeand,
I was a little worried about my daughter during finals last year... she looked a little "thick" to me and didn't seem to care. But then, she took a class this year that combines a boot camp-type workout with nutritional education and she looks fantastic. (The first month of workouts darn near killed her! lol) I think there's a hormonal element with girls from 12-18, too. It seems the majority get a little chunky sometime during these years. (I kind of did.) Throughout high school, I was probably around 150. Then, toward the end of my senior year I dropped about 20 pounds without dieting. I have no idea why.
I had to laugh at your post about pie too, because I made a deep-dish apple pie for my husband today, at his request. I had a small piece, but I think that will do it for me. Now if that was a cake, all bets would be off!
