I think normal is when you can look in the mirror and be reasonably happy with what you see. Even my very skinny friend has things she dislikes about her body, I used to think she was mad but now I see that she would like to have boobs just like I would like to have her flat stomach ( she's never had a kid). You are doing so well, 22lbs is amazing, you should be so proud of yourself and I believe that you will get to the place where you know you look great even with a few little lumps. Enjoy your success Dee, you deserve it.

Dee, hope things are going well with you this week and work is easing up a bit. I'm hanging in there despite no loss this week it doesn't take much to bring your progress to a grinding halt, does it? I sat at lunch yesterday picking at chicken and vegetables and adding a little rice all washed down with water and watched my colleagues enjoy a good meal with wine, and it all seemed so unfair. But life isn't fair and I 've got to accept that and quit whining, maybe in the next life......

Well the weekend is here yet again, I left my laptop on the kitchen table last week when I headed off for work,as there wasn't much else to do while I was sitting in a hotel room with no computer I decided to start knitting a sweater for myself. As usual I started to make it in size large, and when I got half way through the back of it I had a good look at it and decided it would be waaaaayyyyyyyyy to big so I pulled it all apart and started over. I am back to half way through the back again and think its still going to be too big, but I am not taking it apart again, it will just have to be a big baggy pullover. Hotel living is one of the downfalls of my job, especially as I always have a room mate, I don't get any sleep because she insists on having the temp in the room while sleeping at 29 C which for those of you who don't do metric is about 84 F. If I turn it down she sits there and shivers and whines. Eating isn't the greatest when staying in a hotel, but I was really quite careful, this week the hotel had a complimentary breakfast, so I was looking forward to fresh fruit and yogurt and having some great healthy choices. The only fresh fruit they had was an apple or a banana, so I was stuck with yogurt and whole wheat toast, even the selection of cereals were all sugary ones, and the grease, we won't even discuss how much the sausages were floating in. YUCK!!!!!

I get to work locally this week , a whole 5 minutes drive from my own bed so I will be able to post more and my eating will be a lot better. Can't wait to see how a week in a hotel affected my weight loss on Monday, I am expecting a gain, I just hope it isn't a huge one.

Welcome back, was beginning to worry as you had seemed a bit low before you went off the radar. It's been a lovely spring weekend here and I got to pull up all those weeds in the garden, at least that was some activity. Hope the scales are kind tomorrow, glad you'll be able to be close to home next week, it does make a difference. No dance class for me tomorrow evening, I'll have to get out the Wii. Talk later

LIzzie I am so thrilled for you and I told you it would happen. I haven't exactly been low, but my job certainly plays havoc with every other thing in my life. Last week I worked 53 hours and slept an average of 4 hours a day. I am almost looking forward to my foot surgery next Tuesday just to get a break for 6 weeks. This week I am off away in a hotel again and hopefully I have a room to myself so I can get some much needed sleep. This past week I was working near home so sleeping in my own bed, but I got the usual spring cold and every time I lay down I would start coughing and hacking so sleep was none existant. We actually got a sprinkling of snow yesterday, I am so ready for winter to be over and spring to start. I am hoping to have a room to myself this week but highly unlikely, which means I have to deal with the suana and the whining roommate. I have lost another pound so not complaining too much, too lazy to take my measurements this morning but I have noticed that even my size smaller jeans are starting to get loose. I know I haven't eaten the best this week with working so much and not feeling well so I am quite surprised with the loss.
I have a good story to give you a giggle in regards to jeans. I was exhausted when getting dressed for work one night last week and as you know when you first put on a pair of jeans fresh out of the dryer they feel a little tighter. Well I threw on a pair of my bigger ones after getting out of the shower and almost immediatly left for work, all night long I was hitching them up and at one point while climbing a ladder with my arms full they started edging down, I couldn't drop what I was carrying to pull them up so by the time I got to the top they were definatly at a point I would call indecent. Good thing I had on a long t-shirt. So to be assured this won't happen again I gave all my old size 12 jeans to my mother who has put on a lot of weight over the winter, she will have to take them up as she has no legs but they should fit everywhere else.

I feel for you with regards to being tired and not able to sleep. I really need my 7-8 hrs but rarely manage this and so every month or so I crash out for an extra couple of hrs to catch up. I so remember when I was a single working mum, I was always doing something and when I wasn't actually cleaning, working, shopping etc I was thinking of what I should be doing next. Now I have only myself to sort out but I seem to get less done, maybe I'm just catching up on all the relaxation I didn't get. So Tuesday is the big day, then you'll have to put your feet up ( sorry couldn't resist that). My partner arrives tomorrow evening for a few days and I have been stocking up with healthy foods for both of us. I am on duty this month so I am not allowed to drink more than one glass of wine which is good for my eating plan, but it is Easter so he usually buys me a chocolate egg, oh well I can always share it out like I did with the one I won in a quiz. I think that might have been the first time I ate less of the egg than I gave away. Oh and by the way, another pound off for you, that's great, your mum is going to be getting a lot of your cast offs. Take care and have a good day

Hope things are going well for you this Easter weekend. We have been promised some sunshine so I am hoping to get out and about. My weight has gone back up to 160 this morning and I know that this next few days are going to be difficult but I will do my best. Talk to you soon, take care.

Weight hasn't moved but I am not surprised, eating on weeks when I am in a hotel is not the greatest. Top that off with a huge meal at mum's yesterday for easter and everything makes sense. Working one last night tonight, going in early so I can leave early and hopefully get a couple of hours of sleep before my surgery at noon tomorrow. Not worried about my eating the next few days, I will do nothing but sleep after the surgery, doctor gives me some pretty amazing pain killers and they knock me out. Food will be the least of my issues. I will be in touch as soon as I am able to. Need to be up and around by next Sunday for my dad's 80th birthday party, my brother has promised me a comfy chair and ottoman and full service, I just have to get there and the hour drive is not going to be comfortable, I may have to sit in the back seat with my foot up on one of my sons laps. Wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts please.
