Welcome Michelle!

To Darlean, I just wanted to say that I absolutely identify with what you wrote. I can't tell you how many times I have been ashamed to post because of a slip. Whenever I come back from a weeks-long slip I always wonder why I let myself get so off track and I tend to beat myself up quite a bit. I know intellectually that this is totally counter productive and that I need to forgive myself for being an imperfect human (like we all are) and yet I have repeated this behavior countless times!

When I read a post like yours, Darlean it breaks my heart because I know that I have felt what you are feeling as recently as last week and I have felt so oppressed by the feeling of failure, and yet when I see that in someone else, I feel so compelled to tell you that you are only human, that mistakes and detours are normal and that it is never too late to get back on track and you CAN do this! Why can't we say these things to ourselves when we need the encouragement? I don't know. But this is why the forum is so beneficial - necessary even - and why we are so lucky to have this place to vent our frustrations and our accomplishments and to encourage each other to stay motivated.

Have an amazing week. It's a fresh start today!

4) floss 6 times
5) be at least 300 cals deficient per day, for 6 days
6) take in at least 145g of protein per day
7) go one day without bread (this will be hard)
8) drop atleast 1 pound (this morning I was 174.4)

9) make a short update video for YouTube
10) keep spammers under control

Mike,

Why don't you start one on the Men's thread? I bet it would be something other guys would benefit from, too.

Default Thanks

Rose, thank you so much for the encouragement. It really does help to know that I'm not alone in this. To have someone who goes through the same struggle be only a few clicks away is very comforting. I think that's why I still monitor this thread even when I feel like too much of a failure to post myself. You all give me strength. We really can do this together...I know it!

To Darlean,
I know exactly how you feel. Everytime I think im doing good I mess it all back up. I think we are both right at the same weight and even have a similar goal. Just keep on keeping on!

My Goals For The Week-

1. Eat at least 3 fruit and two vegetable servings a day.
2. Re-eliminate bread!
3. Carry a water bottle with me at all times.
4. Get snowshoes and gear ready for season.
5. Take multi-vitamin daily.
6. Move from "healthy eating mode" to "weight loss mode" to shed holiday pounds.

Non-Food Related Goals-

1. Make appointment for physical and mammo.
2. Be patient and supportive of daughter during finals week. (She's a bear!)
3. Schedule "me" time each day. Give myself permission to do nothing, for even a
few minutes, every day.
4. Say or do something nice or unexpected for someone each day.

Good afternoon everyone!

I am going to try and get back in this week. My new job is killing my weight loss! I rarely have time to sit and eat lunch. I have been grabbing whatever is close by! Since I went out of town last week I havent gotten back to exercising. I managed to loose a little last week but I really have no idea how!

1. Drink at least 80 oz of water daily
2. Keep calories 1500-1700
3. Exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes
4. Clean my kitchen and living room
5. Catch up my laundry

Have a great week everyone!

) eat strictly under 2000kcal 1761 no cheating honest
2) burn strictly over 2500kcal 2389
3) going vegetarian (when possible vegan) for a week (health reasons) yes
4) strictly exercise 30min dvd or 45min bike on alternating days yes
5) goodness, lose at least 2lb this week we'll see
6) chuck the no-good 'slimming' shakes in the bin done

I tried so hard to find 30min for exercise today but kids won't let me. I don't count 1hr walk to shops (and carrying 20lb of groceries) as exercise. I had to do 10min, 10min and 15min during the day but it doesn't feel the same like nice hard 30min workout.
One person here inspired me for budgeting my calories, making a plan of this many for breakfast, this many for dinner etc. and it all made up incredible 1761kcal today good idea.
It's nice to see you all again, btw, Asianlady, long time no see....? And warm welcome to all our newcomers.
