Lightbulb 22, obese mom of 2

Hi i am 22 years old and 5'4''. i have a 3 year old and a 7 month old. Before i had any kids i weighed in at about 160. After my daughter i weighed 182 and felt horrible, i started taking hydroxycut and working out everday. I lost 20 pounds for my wedding and was feeling great. Then...i got pregnant with my son and gained all the weight back plus some. Weighing in at 192. I can not do this anymore! I dont fit into any of my clothes. So depressing! Currently I am 185, i would like to get down to 160 at least! Thats only 20 pounds and it should be easy but its not!! I dont want to take hydroxycut again because ive read its horrible for you. I want to do this the right way with no risks. I dont know what to do, i guess im looking for advice/support. I dont even know. I feel fat all the time and i would love to wear my cute clothes again and feel good around my husband. My daughter always says when she is full "my belly is really big like yours mommy" and it hurts so bad. She is only 3 and doesnt understand but i dont want it anymore! I dont want to be a fat mom!

Hi there! Welcome to FitDay...you are in the right place to figure out how to do it the "right way." Most of our members are grinding through it the old fashioned way...focusing on nutrition and exercise. There are a few threads mentioning supplements, but I think we have a very wise community here with a lot of knowledge about what works and what doesn't. There really is no magic pill.

Have a look around the forums and feel free to jump in anywhere you like. There are a lot of moms with little ones and others of us with older kids who have been there, done, that, and can still offer sympathy and a smile. Just remember, you will find what works best for you over time. Start by logging and looking at the calories compared to activity, then tweak it depending on trial and error. And ask for help if you need it!

You may want to take a peek down at the 7-Day Motivational thread in the Women's Corner...good group, lots of support, always good to share struggles and successes in!

And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good.

Ditto everything Cassie said.

You can do this! One day at a time, one small change in your daily habits at a time, and you will get back to your pre-baby weight. Be patient... slow and steady wins this "race".
5'4" 55yr

2.5 years, 45 pounds later... 128ish pounds
