I have joined the 10% by Columbus day challange, but haven't been able to figure formula for % lost. I even asked someone with a bunch of math in her background, but we came up with some really funky numbers... Can some one please give me an algebra style formula so I can quit tearing my hair out?

(weight lost/original weigh) x 100 = % of original weight lost
eg.
(10lbs/200lbs) x100 = 5%
to work out what 10% of your current weight is simply divide your weight by 100, which gives you 1% of your weight and then times by 10 which is the percentage you want so say you way 200lbs and you want 10% of 200lbs
(200/100) = 2 (which is 1% of 200)
2 x 10 = 20lbs
so 20lbs is 10% of 200lbs
