Catching up on the stats; will catch up on the chat later. Hello, weekend warriors!

1. Keep cals below 1300. 793, 1187, 835, 1313, 1297
2. Some form of exercise daily. Short session with weights, C25K, Nope, home after 9 and full day, Nope, ditto; Nope, just talked myself out of it
3. Say no at least once. Yes, and it was not pretty I should have today but I didn't
4. Stay caught up with work to keep weekend reasonably free. So far, so good, Same today, Pretty good, Pretty good, Pretty good
5. Take vitamins and supplements. Forgot fish oil; others yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
6. Do something fun at least 4 times. Watched a bit of Netflix with the boy; rest of day = decidedly unfun, Three hours of exciting HS tennis, Tonight was volunteer night; my son and I teach tennis for Special Olympics Wed. nights for the two months prior to the games...very fun!

epixi - When my dad was trying to teach me to drive - a stickshift - back when I was 15 1/2 - he gave up. He sold his car and bought his first automatic transmission. So kudos to you for teaching your husband. I taught my kids to drive a stick shift too - but not until they had been driving for a year or two.

Robin - fantastic about those size 10 jeans! That must be very motivating - especially since you say your weight loss is slow even though you’re sticking to your goals. Same here - it makes me think that once I reach my final weight that I won’t be able to eat many more calories than I’m now eating.

Cassie - the teaching tennis sounds fun!

1. Calories under 1300: 1020, 978, 1042, 1029, 1050
2. An hour extra movement a day: Y, Y, N, Y,Y
3. No sugar, white flour: Y,Y,Y, Y, Y
4. Small bites and put fork down between bites.- getting better at stretching snacks and meals out

Thanks all for the continued prayers for Johnny.

Who's a weekend warrior??? Unfortunately, not me. I've pretty much cheated the entire week. Yesterday was really bad. I boiled crawfish for a church fundraiser and ate too many. I probably gained 5 pounds from all the sodium. The good thing is that I drank over 10 bottles of water.

I am up to 135 , the most I've been in I don't know how long. I've been living this weird split existence: I have been busy doing great things (saw my friend's art show, met his actor son, had a writers group, went to see African music, went to Eleanor's Roosevelt's house and a great restaurant at the Culinary, played poker and won) but I also have been depressed, bedridden and in pain. Soooooo... New start. Preview of next week's goals, I guess.

1) Plan meals cause it seems to work
2) Stick close to plan
3) 6 glasses of water
4) stretch
5) exercise, even if it's just 10 minutes
6) meditate
7) write (not just journal)
8) stop taking pain killers
9) stop overeating
10) lower carb
11) lower sugar
12) more fruit and veg
13) don't give up

10 bottles of water, Mike ??? I'd burst!!!

Great job this week, Carolynn! I'm really impressed with the elimination of white sugar and flour, especially if you eat meals out.

Cassie, I'm so glad you've been able to keep caught up on work. One less stress in your life!

Donna, sometimes, you just *need* wine and chocolates .

Goals for the week:
  • Log everything, no exceptions (nibbles and "tastes" count!): yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
  • At least 1500ml water per day: 2000ml, yes, 2500ml, 2500+ml, 2500ml, 2500ml
  • Maintain 7-day calorie rolling average under 1550 (day/7-day average): 1496/1415, 1350/1422, 1560/1532, 1235/1458, 1496/1446, 1307/1274
  • Maintain 7-day sodium rolling average under 1500mg (day/7-day average): 1426/882, 1900/938, 865/993, 648/1026, 923/1027, 932/989
  • No red entries on this report: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Study every day: yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes

As for the conference yesterday, didn't stay long. Didn't eat at all. To be safe, though, I threw a couple of energy bars in my purse before leaving home. If needed, they could tide me over until I got back home. I really didn't want one day to wreck my hard work.

Six solid blue days, I'm psyched! One more to go! The weight has fluctuated all week but, as of today, has settled back to where it was last Monday. Fingers crossed, I'll have a little dip tomorrow so I can report an "official" net loss . If not, oh well...

Have a great day, folks!

Epixi, I think you will have a loss you are doing great with your goals. And I agree Carolynnq is rocking that no flour, no sugar goal.

I, like Mike, ate seafood this weekend but I did not drink any extra water to compensate for the sodium.

My goals went pretty well this week and I finished off 11k for walking so I am pleased with that.

Hope.......the split existence-that means you are doing better, just rocky getting there. HUGS

Mike - fun's over. Get back on track!!!! Now!
Well, I'm rocking with my goals, but the weight's not falling off. I was 149 the other day, this morning I was 150. And I've been exercising too - both inside and out. Yesterday I trimmed trees with a hand saw for an hour plus. My arm isn't sore, but my hand is - who knew I had hand muscles!

This morning my local PBS station had some fundraiser show on with a doctor talking about relieving back pain. I only watched a few minutes...the doctor said that every pound of weight lost reduces pressure on the knees by 4 lbs (he didn't explain why, though), so you get a 400% return on your investment.

Robin - I so admire your dedication to getting your walking in.

Hope - I'm amazed that you did so much last week while being in pain. Continued virtual hugs for you...

epixi - I don't eat out much. I think I watched too many Kitchen Nightmares and Restaurant Impossibles with restaurants with filthy kitchens. And, often, it just seems like too much trouble to go out. I like to cook - so a lot of times when I think of what I'd get out versus what I could make at home, I'd just as soon stay home. I don't have too much trouble avoiding sugar & white flour at restaurants - more so when eating at someone else's house. Then I eat what's being served and don't mention a thing about my diet. If they're serving spaghetti, salad, and french bread, I'll have a moderate portion of spaghetti, a large portion of salad, and no bread. And, if someone has gone to the trouble of making a dessert, I'll have a small serving of it. I put it down as not meeting my goals, but I don't consider it a failure and feel bad about it. Being sociable is important!

He wanted Banana nut waffles, so I succumbed! Add in the maple syrup, 750 cals., Homemade Chicken Sausage Gumbo ~ 500, other bad things: 500 cals. Not the best day, calorificly, but not the worst.

Robin: sometimes it's not the scale that lets you know about progress.

Carolyn, Epixi: Way to rock the week!

Hope: I've only been to Hyde Park once, but wish I'd go back, CIA is awesome & worth the splurge. Maybe switch from pain killers to massages?

Mike: You've still got one day 'till weigh-in.

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been MIA this week.
Have been feeling run down but the good news is it means I haven't felt like eating much. I have been getting my water in. Except today (mostly coffee but I'll have a glass of water now!) I have been keeping an eye on blood sugar levels and they are in normal range.

Mike--life happens. I meet a friend for coffee once a month. I had a slice of banana bread--better choice than muffin but don't know how many carbs. Mom and I went out for lunch today. Soup and sandwich but still more sodium than i should have.

Tori, congrats on the weight loss!

Hope, sending you a cyber hug. That must be so hard!
