People often assume that diet food means weight-loss. However, it just means eating the right amount of food at the right time. A good diet should include food items from all food groups that contribute to better health.

To ensure you follow the right diet food, consider the following tips:

∑ Pay attention to the meal size

∑ Eat fresh diet food. Do not consume processed items

∑ Limit the addition of sugar. It adds little or no nutritional value to the food

∑ To reduce the unhealthy fat in the diet, choose a low-fat meal, cook meat and chicken without the skin, boil the meat, use vegetable oil than animal fat, and replace meat servings with oily fish, nuts, beans, or legumes

∑ Bring up the sodium and potassium level down

∑ Add more calcium and Vitamin D items to your diet food
