Default My Diet

So, I need to lose some weight... big time.

I am 27 years old, 230 lbs. Been 200 or more for the past 9-10 years and I'd like to get down to 180 long term goal, 200-210 short term goal.

I am a police officer by trade, no I don't eat doughnuts.

My current diet that I started consists of the following...

2x MET-Rx meal supplamental shakes, 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch.

In between breakfast and lunch I have an Orange or apple.

Dinner is my physical meal that I take half way through my 12 hour shift that never goes above 800 calories.

In a given day I am consuming between 1200 - 1500 calories, and walking the beat for about 8 hours in a night. I take men's multi vitamins and I am doing the Couch to 5k program daily as well as doing Bill Starr's 5x5 program every MWF.

Can i expect to achieve my goal of 210-215 by end of January?

if you want it made enough you can do it. What do you drink and how much water do you take in? It took me 42 days to lose my 1st 20 pounds.

I am drinking roughly about a gallon of water a day, give or take a little.

I'm not big on meal replacement shakes, but I don't see why you can't do it. How much of the 8hrs are you actually walking? Why not eat real food instead?

In the first month you can lose a lot of weight easier then it gets tougher. And of course with the holidays coming up that will play a part in it too. My advice is don't rush and fail, be steady and win!
