Default How can we make team communication more inclusive?

I’ve been thinking about accessibility in our office lately. One of my teammates mentioned he’s colorblind, and it hit me that most “busy light” systems depend entirely on color. It’s crazy how easily someone can be left out just because of design choices. I wonder if there’s a practical solution that helps everyone without being too complicated or expensive to set up.

Yeah, we ran into the same issue last year when onboarding a designer who had color vision deficiency. It’s easy to overlook until someone points it out.

We ended up switching to the Luxafor Colorblind Flag indicator, and it honestly made collaboration smoother for everyone. It uses distinct patterns and brightness instead of relying solely on color. No one has to guess if someone’s available or busy anymore — it’s clear for all team members, no matter their vision type. It’s one of those small upgrades that quietly makes the workspace more inclusive and efficient.
