I just started using FitDay this week after breaking two zippers in a week...eeeek! Sadly, I have been on a "let myself go" plan for the past year and have gained a lot of weight during this time. I am approaching my 40th birthday at the end of April and would like to go back to weighing 125 lbs. I am currently at a whopping 152 lbs, which is a lot on my 5'2" frame. Good luck to everyone. I'll be checking in!

HGBilbruck 02-18-2010 08:20 AM

I am currently 213 first goal is 175 hopefully by July 31 my 11th wedding anniversary and then 155-160 range by Jan 2011. I managed to get to my goal the first time 3 1/2 years ago and then got pregnant with my daughter. Gained all of it back due to being on bedrest 75% of that pregnancy and since having her have not been able to lose more then 5 pounds. She's 3 now. It's sad to say that I weugh the same as I did the day I left the hospital from having her. I also have a 6 year old son. I'm extrememly frustrated and the dr. can't seem to explain why I can't lose anything. So here we go again on this journey. Today is my new Day 1!

xleoniex 02-20-2010 01:26 AM

Using Fitday, Body For Life, P90X

Date I want to reach goal May 20th, 2010. Must loose 1.67lbs per week.

Stats As Of 02/24/2010: 5' 4.5", 142lbs , Chest 36, Waist 29

JillSwank 02-24-2010 01:45 AM

Try eating "clean" for just a week. You will easily bust past your current weight. There are many websites about eating clean. Just type it in google. Basic gist is to eat 40% carbs 40% protein 20% fat. Focus on making your meals from shopping the outside of the grocery (produce, lean meats, low fat dairy). Hope this helps!

Baby steps

My weight came on by eating poorly and not exercising.

Usually I do too much, and then give up. I'm going to start by making only two commitments.

From 2/24 through 2/28 I commit to:

Exercising 15 minutes daily

Eating 3 meals a day with 2 very small snacks

I could do that, but it sounds too much like work:). My biggest prob is that the diet gets suspended on weekends, and we have had about 3' of snow in the last few weeks, so no road time (walking, jiggling, or wiggling), and the gym is 15 min away by car, on good roads. Most snow is gone now, so have been able to walk/run this week. I should be able to get going again.

finallyfree73 03-02-2010 11:09 AM

I weigh 182 now, goal is 132 by 9/21 which is the 7th year anniversary of when I quit smoking (which is the reason I gained the 50 pounds!). But in the short term I would be thrilled (and am striving for) 152 by mid-June. That way I could fit in at least half of my clothes again!

My goal is not just to lose the weight but to adopt a healthy lifestyle because even when I was thin before (while I was a smoker), aside from the smoking my diet/exercise, etc was pathetic!! So yeah, thin didn't mean healthy...but this time it WILL!!

BrandanOne 03-03-2010 12:53 AM

I currently weigh 276 lbs - I've lost 6 so far since joining FitDay. My goal is to be down to 200 lbs by the end of the year. I am a fortysomething male employed at a military installation where everyone seems to be in shape but me LOL.

koolaidsmile79 03-03-2010 04:47 AM

Hi, I joined fitday years ago and was on and off... I quit smoking in March of last year and have gained 35 lbs since. I was up to 209 last month, I have been exercising and watching what I eat and am now down to 203. I am making several small goals as to not get discouraged. My first goal is to be down to 195 by April 1. I am 5'7" and would ultimately like to get down to 140 lbs.

3chikas 03-04-2010 07:48 AM

hi..today is my 1st day on fitday, :)
I am 33 years old 5'4'' & 145 lbs (yuck) and mom of 3 gr8 kids :)
my goal is to reach my goal of 115 lbs by the end of June 2010 (hopefully)
good luck to all the wonderful people of fitday

almeeker 03-04-2010 01:28 PM

Confession time.

I started dieting last fall when I hit my heaviest all time "not pregnant" weight of 244 lbs. This morning I weighed 200 and I plan to be around 120-130 by next Christmas, so around 2 lbs/week. I'm 41 year old female with a small skeletal frame.

I just wanted to thank all of you for being so honest.

toxiclullaby 03-07-2010 07:17 AM

I am 184lbs right now, hoping to be 170lbs to 165lbs by the end of April. I have a new swimsuit that I would kill to wear this summer. Also, I'm hoping to get my navel pierced on my next birthday (October).

Good luck everyone!

avrilodette 03-09-2010 03:25 AM

I am 160 and would like to go down to 135 - Like to lose 25lbs

mandab1 03-09-2010 03:41 AM

Last summer I weighed in at my highest weight ever, 150 lbs. I lost down to 124 lbs very quickly in a very unhealthy way, needless I say, I gained all but 10 lbs of it back.

Now, I'm determined to make a healthy lifestyle change and not just "diet".

I started out at 140 lbs, now I'm down to 133 lbs with a goal weight of 120 lbs.
7 lbs down 13 lbs to go!

GennyF 03-09-2010 03:57 AM

Last week I was at 227 and I am working my butt off (literally) to reach my goal of 127. Which at 5' 1" is towards the top part of the healthy weight chart.

elderwanda 03-13-2010 01:16 PM

I'm a 42 year-old mother of two. I'm almost 5'3" and 152 pounds. This is the heaviest I've ever been except for when I was 9.5 months pregnant with my first child, and could barely move at 164.

My goal is to lose 30 pounds and to get a lot more fit. I tried to run to get out of the rain, and discovered I couldn't even run a few yards without getting completely winded and feeling like my feet were 10-ton weight slamming into the ground. I'm sitting here right now, aware of how heavy I feel in my chair, and the rolls of fat on my back and around my middle. Aside from how unattractive it is, it's physically very uncomfortable. I finally got the courage to measure my waist for the first time in over a year, and it's 36 inches around the smallest bit (which isn't where a waistband would sit.)

I'm looking forward to being able to wear something other than my husband's pants. Last year I wanted to buy some clothes, so I looked at a size chart to see what size to order. I discovered that I was like a 12 around the hips but a 20 around the waist. So, hopefully after I lose this weight, I'll be able to fit an actual size! (That's not a guarantee, since my skin never bounced back after my c-section, but we'll see.)

Sorry for being so long-winded. Nice to be here!

A long way to go ....

I have been working on losing weight for the last 3 week.
I have lost 3.5 lbs so far. I am down to 181.5 lbs.
I'm 5ft 1in and need to get down to 130 lbs. I have set a goal for this time next year.

I just joined this site today... I am very excited about my progress so far.

Lizzycritter 03-14-2010 12:11 AM

:cool:1-2 lbs a week is a good rate for sustainable loss, so sounds like you're on the right track. Welcome to the club!

jcali310 03-15-2010 03:26 AM

I just recently discovered FitDay googling for calorie counters. The one on this site is really helpful,
so I bookmarked it.

I recently started my weight loss journey a little over 3 weeks ago. My starting weight was 263.0
and my current weight is 252.4. My goal is 180, so I have a ways to go. I am 5' 9" tall.

I count calories and grams of protein. If I don't get enough protein I have uncontrollable food cravings.
One other important thing I'm doing is abstaining from alcohol.

Best wishes to everyone.
Joe

I joined fitday on the last day of december last year. I just now realised there were forums! lol

For the past 3 years I have been going in and out of my Dr's telling him that I couldn't understand why I couldn't loose weight and started gaining. He did a barrage of lab tests only to reveal nothing. I really thought I wasn't eating that bad until I started writing down everything on this site. I didn't realise how much I was sabotaging myself by eating that spoonful of ice cream or that last cookie in the bag etc.... I started my "lifestyle change" on January 1st when I got on the scale and saw that I was tipping it at 218lbs! I'd never been that big unless 8months pg with my HUGE boy. I began by making myself small goal in short terms. This way I wouldn't be so discouraged. Today I am finally below 200lbs!!! I have more energy and I feel great! I have 5 children so I need to be able to keep up with them and with more progress it will get easier every day! I'm so glad to have found this site
Christina

I joined about a week and a half ago. My starting weight was 91kg and my first goal is 65kg, i may decide to go lower when i get to 65kg, but i don't really know what it feels like, so we'll see. I started eating healthier on the 25th Feb and i've lost 2kg already and i've been eating really well :) I'm very excited about this. I've tried to lose weight SO many times but something feels really different this time. I can't remember EVER eating this well.:D

I'm female and 19 from Aus btw :p

And i am doing the Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle program by Tom Venuto
