I have way to many weaknesses, here goes nothing:

Chocolate
Cheese not in moderation
Butter
Ice cream any flavor will do, but especially chocolate and cookie dough, preferably in the same dish.
Blender drinks
Big fat plate of nachos with all the toppings
Mexican food in general
Pizza
Italian food in general
vino
beer
bar food in general, quite specifically brew pub food
Peanut butter
Reese's peanut butter cups
coffee creamer
Chocolate
French Fries
Well anything deep fried really

peanut butter
butterfinger
butterfinger blast (Sonic)
reeses blast (Sonic)
cake
cookies
cobbler
I guess I could just shorten my list and say desert

Ah, geez, this food porn is making me hungry!

I have to say french fries are high on my list; I love baked potatoes, also.
Frozen yogurt, which in and of itself is okay, but given free rein on the toppings bar, that's trouble.
Granola
Pretzels, particularly with cheese
Chocolate
Apple crisp or cobbler
Homemade caramel frosting, even though I'm not big on cake
A really good burger

Okay, I have to stop now.

I think this may just be the best way to do it.
Bravo for being able to lose weight, control your taste buds just enough, but still not "deny yourself" of what you enjoy to eat. I'm going to follow your lead with this. Poison myself, just a lot less then I did before I committed to losing weight.:) I think if we deny ourselves, we just will end up quitting right? Like when my enemy showed up yesterday .. If i didn't have any for weeks.. I probably would give in and eat a huge amount of it "because I've already ruined my diet" You really helped me realize that i don't have to control myself so strictly. It isn't all or nothing. <3 Thanks for helping me see that.

That's becoming my philosophy yeah. I always used to be an "all or nothing" type of dieter... and it never worked out. I'd lose ten pounds, and gain back 15. One little "cheat" and I'd just give up and start binging to make up for all the eating I missed out on. As for what I'm doing now, (which, so far is working), there's no such thing as cheating. All or nothing might work fine for some people (and that's great if it does), but it's never worked for me. I love food, and I love to eat, and going cold turkey just isn't gonna cut it for me.

My weight loss plan:
  1. Eat anything
  2. Count calories
  3. Exercise

Of course, common sense should play a role. Healthy choices are always paramount.

:D

I think there are two kinds...those who can't even start with "trigger foods" and those who can never say never. I'm in the latter category. The quickest way to send me running for unhealthy stuff is to tell me I can never have it. For me personally, I'm okay with eating anything in moderation, as long as I can work it into my pie chart, and that means calories, ratios, and other nutrients all have to balance out. Sometimes if it's something really major, I'll take the average over a few days. I don't overindulge, but I'm not into the whole deprivation thing, either, because for me, that's not sustainable. That philosophy has me a BMI of about 19.5, body fat of about 19%, cholesterol of 113, and triglycerides of 54, at age 43. Do what works for you personally.

Wow, sorry to hijack this thread, but I really feel strongly about this.

You are doing great having a bmi of 19.5, Good job finding the right balance for you to be healthy.
Yea we did go a little off topic.. But I think its good to see the kinds of experiences people have with their "weakness" and some strategy sharing.
For me, I just don't think I have the right attitude to go completely off all of the junk foods RIGHT NOW.
Possibly in the future when I weigh a healthy amount, and have gotten used to eating healthier.. Maybe I will be ready to make that change, and stop eating junk foods completely.
I think right now the biggest thing for me, is to keep it reasonable. I'm sure a lot of people are like us in the "never say never" category. It's nice to know that it can work, sometimes very well.

Then again, if my "weakness" foods were never around, I don't think I'd have any temptation to eat them. I tend only to 'NEED IT' once its in front of me. Unfortunately its almost everywhere.

My weaknesses? Beer and pizza. Virusinside's description of a meaty pizza had me salivating.

Oh, man, how many Korner Store (the best pizza around here, IMHO) all-meat fresh dough pizzas have I eaten? One of those and a six pack of beer--oh my!

Regards,
Michael
