In fact, one study in 141 obese adults showed that combining 40 minutes of cardio three times per week with a weight loss diet decreased body weight by 9% over a six-month period.

Walking, jumping jacks, and some cardio exercises you should have to do 30-45 minutes for 3-5 days a week. A cardio workout is very effective to burn more calories. But you should have chosen those exercises that you enjoy doing a lot.
