I have been offline for over a week. I haven't been logging as I had been, but eyeballing and mentally calculating. I was pleasantly surprised to see a loss. I know that for me that is very risky. Journalling is key so I am back on again. I have vacation from work this week so more time to really focus on eating better and more importantly, exercising. Things got so busy with a huge project that I really didn't have time. My goal is another 5.5 pounds by the end of the year. Even if I don't make it, if I get close I will be thrilled.

i needed a kick in the butt to start logging my food again, and got it this morning when my weight showed as 124.6??????!!!!! have to get back to my food log and exercise again!

Hello....I am 11 weeks into my fitness/diet change and I have shed 39 pounds...
I seem to be plateauing a bit as I progress, but I feel good and proud of myself for being vigilant and disciplined. I definitely feel better and can sense much more energy. I seem to be bouncing around 160.6 to 162.6 or so. Didn't post last week cause I showed a gain! I don't expect to lose anymore before the end of the year. Mainly just trying to maintain while still enjoying some Christmas cookies, etc. I've lost 20lb total. Starting in the new year, I'll start on the next 20 or so. I feel pretty good at this weight. Not embarrassed anymore when I catch sight of myself in a window or mirror at the mall. Down from 12's and 14's to 10's and 12's. Down to Mediums in tops... Yay!

Happy holidays everyone! Lots of goodies around and lots of temptations. I continue to track foods, moods,activities and my weight, using the tools here at FitDay and it really helps me to stay focused on my path.
I enjoy walking in the winter weather here in the Chicago area and I will often ride along if my wife or one of my kids has an errand to run. Then, I just have them drop me off 3 or 4 miles away from home and then I have to walk home from the dropoff point. It's not rocket science but it works for me and maybe it will work for you as well. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Looks pretty quiet here but I hope everyone has jumped back on the horse somewhere on this site. I just returned from 8 weeks out of the country and my family I was visiting was totally supportive of what I am doing. We managed to eat healthy and exercise almost everyday over the holidays-yeh!
I managed to reach my December goal of 200lbs and am reallllly excited for next week. I am 49 and have not been less than 200 in 20 years. I am going to keep doing what I'm doing- slow, steady, strong. Have a great week and focus on the positive :) |

Been trying to stay focused and have been out walking when I get the chance, usually totalling out between 6-11 miles per week...Sometimes I just ride along with my wife or kids and just have them drop me off 2-3 miles away. Then I just walk home from there.

Glad to be back
Well, I am so glad to see the thread still active! I fell away around the Holidays and I am glad to be back on the forum and back on track with logging into Fitday. Once again I have confirmed that it is so important for me to track in order to be aware of what and how much I am eating. I was stuck around 163-164 until last week when I got back on Fitday and I am down!

I hit 201 lbs this past Monday the 24th, down 51 lbs since I started in early October. Yesterday I revised my weight goal. Where is everybody?
I'll do my part to continue this thread. I upped my activity level last week to a total of 30 miles walked every day various distances between 3.5 and 4.0 mph. Pretty much stuck with the diligence and realized an estimated net calorie deficit of 8200 calories for the week.

Going the wrong direction
I am up again this week, but I am sure it has to do with Birthday and Superbowl all happening on same weekend. While I don't expect for the whole 3.5 I gained (from my lowest point so far) to be gone by next week I hope to have half of that whittled away. My body likes the 163-164 area. I need to change up my routine. What worked to get me to 163 isn't moving me past that and I really want to be into the 150's. It has been 16 YEARS since I was in the 150's!! It is long overdue for me to be in the 150's.
