I haven't seen another thread for this group. If there is a new place for me to check in please let me know. Bad week, but I am not sure exactly why. I was at 168.5 for the majority of the week but this a.m. I was at 170 - GULP! The last two weeks have had little exercise, but I kicked it in yesterday and have a strategy in place for going forward so hoepfully I won't hang around 170 very long and get back to my real downward trek and not these switchbacks.

The last weeks have been so hard for me. My stress eating is getting the better of me and my exercise is still low. My calories aren't always high, but they are full of junk food and not healthy options. I didn't really lose 3 lbs this week. Last weeks 170 was a surprising spike. I hope that I can get things in check and back on track eating healthy, especially the next 3 days before Thanksgiving.

Welcome Back Vsabino! Congratulations on maintaining. That is a goodness for you to move forward. This time of year is always hard with all the extra temptation and, for many of us, cold weather that reduces the ease of outdoor activity for extra calorie burn. We will all need to learn on each other!

No loss this week. I took a break from counting calories this week, and see where it got me! vsabino, you are going to hate me. No exercise for a while now. I was great when I first started in September, but have really slacked off on exercise. I try to keep it to 1500 cal a day (avg - I do zigzag some), try for 30% protein or more, the rest split up between fat and carbs - I 'm not afraid of fat at all (just the amount of calories in it!). I started at 180.6 in September, but the weight is slowing down and I really need to exercise. I think I have a pretty decent metabolism (for a 40-year-old), so that helps I'm sure. This week I am trying to keep my calories well under 1300 or less to make up for Thanksgiving.

ncbennett, your weight loss seems to be in line where I am headed. I had pretty consistent weight loss for the first few weeks, but now I have been bouncing around between 166.5-168.5 (the 1 weird jump to 170) and I cannot get below that 166.5 mark. I have not been exercising much or hard due to a big project at work and long hours. Maybe I need to try your zig-zag approach? If you have other tips I would love to hear them!

I didn't eat much on Thanksgiving Day but I gave myself too much free reign the rest of the weekend so I am up and have to re-lose these pounds again. The unfortunate part is that I lost some of my motivation and drive with the lazy long weekend. I worked out well on Saturday and Sunday, but it was enough of a break in my eating routine that it seems like a chore to get back on track! If I can get to 160 by the end of December that will be amazing.

Only gained 0.4 pounds, even after eating whatever I wanted on Thursday and Friday. Leading up to Thursday, I ate less than my normal alotment though. Would like to get into the mid 150's by Christmas, although I will be happy just to get into the 150's at all!

new scale - added 3-5 pounds!
I've been skipping posting recently, because when I reached my goal of 24 pounds lost one of my rewards was a new scale (I know - what was I thinkin?) It wasn't as nice as the old one:mad: I didn't want to document big gains! Now I'm at 134.5 on the new one (130-131 on the old one), in spite of eating a LOT for about 5 days last week. That's acceptable. Everyone's doing so well!

I am visiting family for 6 weeks in the south of France right now and still able to check in! It is fortunate that my Son and Daughter in law are into health and fitness and I have been able to join them at their gym for workouts and eat healthy meals to stay on track, not to mention chasing after 2 young Grandsons:) There has been the odd indulgence of the odd pastry and glass of wine but overall have managed to stay focused on my December 15th goal- 2 more pounds to go-yikes. Work has been a beast with long hours on my butt in front of a computer and little desire to exercise at the end of the day. I can tell the stress is effecting my diet too. Trying to keep calories down, but see lots of sweets popping up in my food log :o . I have continued to log which I have found is critical for me.
Down 1.5 and I am grateful, but I really want to get below the 167 threshold I have been knocking around for a while. I would like to join this group of that is ok. I started on Oct 4th @ 252 and my set goal was 222 by Jan 15th..... I am an unemployed poet and here's a little poem to show why...
Night and day, ain’t no doubt. Calories in, calories out. Attitude up, attitude down. Eyes on the prize. Focus on the crown! And if you stumble, don’t waste your time cryin’. Too much food during this time of year!!! How do we just say NO!!!! I lost 35lbs 2 yrs ago just to gain most of it back the last year. I need to lose this for good. Just started this program today, any advise??
