Nichaleh, nice job on the fruit and veggies. Glad you finally got some good sleep. :)

Judi, thanks for your kind words. You're such a sweetheart. :) You are really doing a good job on the weight loss--coming quite a way since July 3--reaping the rewards of consistent dedication. :) Best wishes on your baking and canning.

Judi, congrats on the painting! Any pics?:D

On another note, I got home from work and hubby had done nothing about dinner and I was tired and hungry and it made me very grumpy. We went out to get something; he suggested Subway and that made me more mad because I wanted a hot meal, but there was a fish and chips place next to Subway and I may or may not have eaten 8oz of deep fried halibut and about 20 pounds of fries  I make bad decisions when I'm hangry. No logging for me today.

Nichaleh and Cassie Thanks for the kind words, I haven’t been posting I guess I feel like if I can’t do it right I shouldn’t share it.:o

April Congratulations on the job opportunity I hope you get it!!!! Thanks for the hand and the ear I am very appreciative of it.:)

Mern Ok goals I will talk to you guys every day even if I feel like I am failing and I will log my food again. You were doing really well with your testing back in feb how did your recent tests go?

Mike Have you heard of conjugated linoleic acid? I drug my butt to the gym today and someone mentioned I should try it she swears it kicked started that last 20lbs she needed to lose, I googled it and it seems to have mixed reviews I know you have been around the gym a lot maybe you have heard something about it.Probably me looking for the easier way which doesn't exist.

I understand completely...I have been in the same spot, but I realized that avoiding FitDay definitely does not make it any better for me. In fact, it's worse!

Oh, geez, this was me last year! My whole house needed trim done; I actually made it a goal on here to do one room each weekend and I think that's the only thing that got it done. I loathe trim, I really do, so I feel for you!

Well, I blew yesterday completely; it was a perfect storm. I did well during the office luncheon and stuck with salad and no birthday cake, but was so hungry by the time I got home that I ate all night "with reckless disregard," as the saying goes . Back on the wagon today...one more lunch out this week today.

Mern, thanks for asking; the school year is going well. This semester is easy, but next semester will be a bear. How is the first semester of college going at your house; has is started yet? There is such a variation of when the different institutions start...does your DGD know what she is interested in pursuing yet?

jjrudd 08-24-2012 01:46 AM

nobe--I hear ya. I bought 3 outfits at Mom to Mom sale at local public school for $12 for my niece. One is the cutest little yellow sundress from babyGap. They only wear it once why would you buy new?

Darlene--are all here to help. Been slacking off logging too but i sort of keep track in my head.

Question about sugar spikes. I ate cereal and toast yesterday and had small bun and veggies and hummus for lunch and at 4:30pm when I checked my glucose level was 19. I drank lots of water yesterday and exercised for about 40mins. Dietician told me it can spike if I'm too hungry. Why does it spike?

Hunny24 08-24-2012 02:14 AM

Hi guys

Happy Friday to all! Was able to run another 3 miles last night...first mile was great and same with the second. But the last one sucked. So still need to take my time and be patient with myself in order to get back to the same pace I had.

I have been doing well with the diet...keeping out most of the carbs except for some fruit here and there and the weight is steadily coming off. I have my first goal set of 165 by Sept 3rd so trying really hard to make it. I'll be going back to work the week or two after that and hopefully that will be enough to get back into some work pants I already own.

Will be going to the gym tonight to lift and work out and plan on going on Sunday as well.

Have a great Friday everyone and only a few more hours until the weekend starts!

wildbeanerz 08-24-2012 04:36 AM

I got the job! My official start date is 9/10 but if my replacement is ready before then I may start training sooner. This does mean one thing though guys...no more fitday during the day. :(

Today is super busy at work so I can't stay long. Yesterday was great goal - wise though.

and Happy Birthday Ann!!!!

cjohnson728 08-24-2012 04:42 AM

Congrats officially, April :).

I second the Happy Birthday, Ann! I know you have your hands full, but hope you can spend it doing something you enjoy ;).

jj, I'm not an expert on the sugar issue, but my first thought was maybe because what you ate was primarily carbs? I know you have some dietary restrictions on protein, so your choices make sense, but that's my only guess. Except I think exercise can cause it too, to an extent? Mern is pretty savvy about these things; maybe she'll have an answer when she pops in.

I'm having a lovely work-at-home day today and facing a pretty free weekend as well. It's quiet here this week...hope everyone is doing well and having a happy Friday!

Mern 08-24-2012 04:55 AM

Got part of my routine quarterly blood test results back already. I love that my doctor's office uses the MyChart program where my results are posted to my online account.

Drum roll, please:

Total Cholesterol: :D I have now officially reduced my high cholestrol through diet alone to NORMAL. Highest recorded was 244, normal is under 200, mine is now 198.

Blood Glucose: :D Fasting blood glucose continues to be reversed from pre-diabetic to normal. Highest was 114 and is now 85 with under 100 being normal.

EDITED IN FRIDAY EVENING: Earlier I had posted here that I hadn't gotten my A1C average blood sugar test result yet, but I found it was posted to my online medical records account after the first results came in this morning.

A1C average blood glucose continues to be reversed from pre-diabetic, too. It was NORMAL at--5.9% despite my summertime carb cheats and binges. Normal is 4-6%. I guess my cheats were more seldom or more controlled over the summer than I recalled. I'm certainly not going to challenge the test result! LOL

LDL (bad cholesterol) :) is way closer to normal. Highest recorded was 127, normal is under 99, mine is now 106.

Triglycerides  are up slightly and don't understand why since my cholesterol is way down. I have ranged between 228-286 and for an unknown reason they are back up to 272 with normal being under 150. I have an appointment with the doc next Thursday and she will ask me what my plan of attack is--and that will be to try some tips from the Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) diet: reducing sat fat from my previous goal of 11-12% to 7% of total calories and reducing dietary cholesterol from previous goal of 250mg per day to 200. I will keep my calories at 1500 and exercise 5 days.

jjrudd 08-24-2012 05:06 AM

Wow, that's great Mern!! You go girl!!
Did you balance your diabetes by diet and exercise alone?

Thanks Cassie, that's kind of what I thought too. Will check glucose this afternoon since I had more of a balanced breakfast and lunch today.

Mern 08-24-2012 05:56 AM

Hi, Mike. :)

Nobe great deal on the pants and shirts for kiddo! Ah, some people are just scared of what people would think of them for buying used clothes. Sorry, but I had to chuckle out of "I may or may not have eaten 8oz of deep fried halibut and about 20 pounds of fries." We all know you will get back on track.

Darlene said "Mern Ok goals I will talk to you guys every day even if I feel like I am failing and I will log my food again." There ya go! Know that we're here for you whether you're doing well or struggling. But as Cassie admitted, I, too, have fallen into staying away from FitDay when I wasn't on the wagon, and it did indeed make things worse for me. I posted part of my blood test results a few minutes ago. Thanks for your interest.

Cassie, kudos for being back on the wagon today after a night of "reckless disregard." Glad to hear the boys first semester is going well. Second semesters often are bears. Wish it could be more evened out. First semester of college for GD starts Monday, Aug. 27, majoring in PSYCHOLOGY. :) She has two courses she expects to be a breeze (Spanish and math) but is also expecting a bear of a second semeter. So she is adding a second semester US History course to the first semester to lighten the second semester load.

Jenn, I don't understand your dietician's remark about blood sugar spiking if one is hungry unless she just meant one may eat too much in carbs if too hungry? I'm also not familiar with that reading of 19 for blood sugar. Was that a typo or do you not live in the USA? What number is considered normal? Thanks for your cheer. :) Yes, I did balance my blood sugar and my cholesterol with diet and exercise alone (no meds) and my doctor's supervision.

Ann, http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...ovD0Z-lJKs9B5s Kudos on the running. Just be proud that you are a work in progress--that third mile will surely get easier. I'll bet your be back in those work pants you already own in plenty of time.

April, aw, I'm thrilled for you that you officially got the new job. We all know how well you've done in your weight loss--being such a role model for the rest of us. You will do fine without FitDay during the day and we'll look forward to your evening reports. Kudos on your great day goal-wise yesterday!

cjohnson728 08-24-2012 06:04 AM

Mern,

FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!!

Truly, you are a role model that this can be done. I am so glad you are here and sharing your thoughts.

jjrudd 08-24-2012 06:10 AM

Sorry Mern, forgot that numbers are different in States than Canada.
Fasting glucose normal is between 4 and 6--like this would be the number it should be before having breakfast.
2hrs after eating a normal range would be between 7 and 10.

I was told when my blood sugar spiked in the morning it was because I hadn't had enough to eat the day before. I don't really understand it myself and I have never had a reading higher than 11.5 and that was 2 hrs after eating.

cjohnson728 08-24-2012 06:13 AM

Oh, Mern, just saw the other post. I hope your GD enjoys psych. I went into college as an English major but fell in love with my Intro Psych course and that was that :D.

I can't switch the boy's classes, but I had the same thought as you...I know the books he'll need to read for classes next semester so I already got them, and plan to buy the AP US History prep book soon, too, even though that's not till Spring. Unfortunately, spring is when the tennis season starts, but I suppose that's what separates the men from the boys.

Although it gives me a chill to think about him as a man, still, yet :o.

I think that's very cool that you can get your results so quickly. I'm thinking that the good news will be very motivating for you. Heck, it's motivating to me and it's not even my bloodwork, lol!

Mern 08-24-2012 08:11 AM

Jenn, I am fortunate that I don't have to test my blood at home. I just have a fasting blood test at my doctor's office every three months; she sends it to a lab and I get the results the next day, except for my A1C which takes two days. Thanks for explaining your 19 to me. I found a chart for converting your mmol/L to the USA mg/dL (milligrams of glucose to deciliter of blood) at mmol/l to mg/dl conversion Two hours after eating USA glucose levels should be under 140mg/dL. Your 19 translates to 342 mg/dL, so WOW, that really is high! Yeah, I still don't understand the reasoning for the spike. My doctor serves as my nutritionist but if she told me my blood sugar spiked in the morning because I hadn't had enough to eat the day before, I'd have to ask her to explain what she meant by that.

Cassie, thanks so much for your cheer on my blood test. I am so lucky to have found this doctor. I'm actually looking forward to my visit with her next Thursday to confer with her on the triglyceride issue. I expect my GD will love psych as I did. I started out with the intent to become an elementary school teacher and then changed to accounting, but I had two or three psych courses and remember really enjoying them. Kids can't switch semester courses around at our high school, either. My GD didn't take AP US History in high school but she's interested in US History that subject, too, so it was a good course to add to her first semester. I'll bet the boy will do great in his AP US History course when the time comes. I have a son, too, and I found it harder accepting him growing up than I did for my daughter growing up. You are right that the good news of finally getting my cholesterol normal after 15 months of working on it is motivating for me. I've already conquered the blood glucose issue, so the triglycerides is all I need to work on--besides maintaining the normalcy of the other things. :)

So that brings me to my new plan of attack on the still high triglycerides. I'm taking these guidelines from the Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) diet recommended by the US Institute of Health in their National Cholesterol Education Program. Even though aimed at reducing cholesterol, it was given as a suggested diet in a WebMD.com article about reducing triglycerides. I just need doc's input on this next Thursday:

My new diet targets starting this morning will be
--Calorie limit 1500 (no change)
--Carbs 25g net (no change)
--Protein average minimum 120g
--Cholesterol average 200mg limit (down from 250mg the past 3 months)
--Total fat limit 35% of total calories--don't know if I CAN do that with a fixed net carb limit of 25g and fixed protein target of at least 120g
--Saturated fat limit to average 8% of total calories (down from 11-12% the past 3 months. Should be target of 7% but I'm not that brave)
--Polyunsaturated fat limit to average 10% of total calories (never tried that-no idea how that will go)
5 oz. maximum lean meat, poultry or fish. (Don't think that will be a problem--can still have cheese, nuts, beans, protein shake)

cjohnson728 08-24-2012 08:19 AM

I say it's high time for your second career as a dietician. I would hire you in a heartbeat :).

Seriously, I really needed the reminder that being vigilant does make a difference, so thank you for sharing the details with us.

Mern 08-24-2012 08:37 AM

Cassie :D What I did to reduce my cholesterol and blood sugar is what works for ME--it's been hit and miss, trial and error for the past 15 months. I can only preach that slow and steady wins the race. Now I just need to be more vigilant on the WEIGHT LOSS! UGH!

I hear ya, and you're preaching to the choir on that one. I just meant that you have so thoroughly researched everything and become so informed and willing to share what you know.

I hope the Triglyceride Summit goes well!

Mern 08-24-2012 10:38 AM

Thanks, Cassie. Glad to have helped a bit. I surely have learned a lot from this group as well--and a lot of that was from you. That's what we're all about. :D

Fridays numbers

Calories ave 1350- 1399,1094, 1231,1657, 1655
Eat vegies 3-5 serves – yes, yes, yes, yes,no
Eat fruit 1 -2 serves- yes, yes if you count cranberry juice?, yes in juice form again,no,yes
At least 7 hours of sleep a night – more like 6, not even close maybe 5 I keep waking up for some reason. YES! Finally. yes, yes

My numbers are not too bad but my carbs have been very high this week, particularly in the last few days. I will need to watch that. I have had a reasonable loss this week despite a 100g gain this morning which is probably the result of a bit of a late night carb binge oops:eek: I am going shopping today and I plan to buy some more easy hi protein options so I am not so tempted to grab the quick and easy.

Mern 08-24-2012 01:20 PM

Nichaleh, great job on your fruit, veggies and sleep. Your calories averaged just 1407--quite respectable with a target of 1350. Really good that you caught the creeping up of your carbs. Congrats on your weight loss and on your shopping trip to stock up on your supply of protein. :)

dar n 08-24-2012 01:20 PM

Hello ladies and Mike so far so good today my calories are in line just under 900 and planning a light dinner. I am off work today but spent it at our church vacation camp for kids and seriously ran my bottom off probably burnt 500 calories just running up and down stairs today.I have a date to walk the dogs with a friend of mine not really exercise as shes a leisurely walker but its still activity.:)

Mern Congratulations on your test results!!!!

April Congratulations on your new job!!!!

jjrudd 08-24-2012 01:41 PM

Congratulations Mern on the test results!! Always nice to hear good news like that.

Checked my blood sugar this afternoon 2 hrs after lunch (fajitas with weight watchers tortilla, a little bit of leftover steak and lots of veggies) and it was back down to normal range so looks like just a temporary spike. Strawberries for dessert tonight WITHOUT ICECREAM:D

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Jenn

Darlene, it's nice to have you back!:D

judipurple 08-24-2012 02:15 PM

yahoo Mern - those number reflect a LOT of hard work and focus! And an incredible amount of knowledge!

Mike - right now my living room is totally torn apart - I am taking pix, but nothing I'd want to share yet with the general public! We are living on a bare plywood floor and all the stuff from the bookshelves (20'x7' worth) in boxes and stacked in the corner. We had plans to put in a bamboo floor, but the bonus DH was expecting got put into the retirement plan instead:mad:. So I have to come up with a plan B - probably use floor paint creatively. I promise, you will see pictures eventually. The riverstone tiles for the corner with the woodstove look great - at least SOMETHING is working out.

jjrudd - *whew* on the blood sugar #s...glad they're back to normal:)

nichaleh - seeing lots of green in your week! Good job!

darlene - ahh - I remember the days of summer Bible camp for the kids - I'd get home and drop in a chair from exhaustion - while the kids ran circles around me! Def. worth at LEAST 500 cals!

April - again - congrats on the new position - here's hoping for a smooooooth transition!

Cassie - thank you for the sympathetic words - I still have another window to tape and paint - gack. Then gotta make a decision on the floor. Sigh. And I start back to work on Wednesday, so time will be at a premium.

Ann - it never ceases to amaze & impress me how you all can run for MILES! I do wee little 100' jogs/sprints, and think I'm gonna DIE! Wow!
Oh - and Happy Belly-Button Day to you!

Ama, Tracey, and whoever I missed - hope this week went as planned, and this weekend will be great for you!

...all right, all right...I've procrastinated long enuff...the numbers weren't great - but I will admit to intentionally having a carb-overloaded day. It was one of THOSE days, where I had a tenuous hold on the emotions and negative thought processes. But I did keep a grip on things for the most part, doing some journalling, and will spend some time tonight in meditation.

*gulp*

Calories: 1,850 Fats: 112.7 Carbs: 153.7 Protein: 78.9

I did my walk today, and tried some sprints UP some hills - gads, I was winded! Didn't get the baking done, but managed to make (food porn alert) : Roasted Corn & Black Bean Salsa - got 8 jars canned, plus (this is where the carbs and calories came from)ate some with dinner - along with too many tortilla chips and gobs of cheese - and a WHOLE avocado. Decadent. Won't do that again soon, though - stomach is complaining. Think I'll avoid the scale until Monday...or Tuesday...

01gt4.6 08-24-2012 04:42 PM

I totally understand Judi.

Okay ladies, what would Friday be without another one of my rants? First the lien holder, now the parts store. Here's the email I just fired all, along with copies of my statements and conversation. Y'all should be proud, I didn't drop a single F-Bomb, someone please hand Tori a tissue.

I called in last week and placed an order, order #70311474. I made a paypal payment of $560.50 (see attachment). I then called back to order another part and that was put on my credit card, in the amount of $125.68 (see attachment), for a total of $686.18. A couple days ago I had noticed that a part was on back order, I called to inquire about it. At first I talked to a male and he said there was no ETA. It's my understanding that when parts are on back order from Suzuki of Japan, they don't necessarily go to the dealers first, they are allocated to those that have them ordered. So I was pretty much in line for my parts, which was fine. Later I had called back and talked to a female and she said that I must have gotten lucky and got one of the last ones because mine was schedule to ship on August 23rd.

On the 23rd, I now noticed that that same part, along with another part was on back order. I did the online chat to get some info on my order. I inquired asking IF I decided to cancel the back ordered parts, would I have ANY fees. (See attached copy of the chat.) The rep said that there would be NO FEES. In the chat you can see that I NEVER ONCE asked to have my items cancelled. Your rep took it upon himself to cancel those items and I was charged a restocking fee, because of HIS mistake! (see attachment from your invoice) I was refunded $346.78 to my paypal account (see attachment). The $346.78 isn't even enough to cover the cost of the parts that I had originally paid for and he removed from my order, so PowersportsPlus STILL OWES ME MONEY. So not only was I charged because of his error, I was now kicked out of line for my parts!

I call back this morning when I get the invoice showing his screw up and the restocking fee. I was quite upset that someone could be so careless. The gentleman I spoke to today said that to add the two back ordered parts back to my order, he would have to do a new order. This made absolutely no sense! The new order # is 70320201. He took my debit card information and I told him to make sure I was credited back before he charged my card. I assume that call was recorded, you may want to check that out. HE MADE A DUPLICATE ORDER OF THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL ORDER AND CHARGED MY BANK ACCOUNT ANOTHER $686.18, WHEN Y'ALL ARE THE ONES THAT STILL OWE ME MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! (See attachment) So how many times can the reps at PowersportsPlus drop the ball on one order? It amazes me that I don't even work there and I knew what they were doing was wrong, yet he still did it. If your staff is that clueless, I think you need to be replacing them.

I called back this evening and get another rep, that I don't believe knew his head from a hole in the ground. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after 30-40 minutes of explaining to him my, I mean YOUR situation, he tells me that the supervisor has left and he can't do anything for me. I have to wait until Monday to speak to a supervisor and then it could take 24-48 hours before the money is refunded. Really? So your rep screwed up by cancelling my parts and hitting me with a restocking fee on Thursday, I call on Friday to correct it and the next rep tries to outdo the first by screwing me even more and now I've being told it may be Tuesday or Wednesday before this mess is corrected, all the while I now wait at the back of the line for my parts? He did finally transfer me to Anthony at Ext. 168. Anthony said that he would cancel the duplicate order from today but, like the previous rep said, I'd have to wait until Monday to try to get the money corrected.

I am a member of many message boards and I can tell you that PowersportsPlus has left a very bad taste in my mouth that I will be sharing, if this debacle is not correct and my money back in my account by the close of business on Monday. I think I have spent way too much of my valuable time trying to fix this mess, I think some good training and corrective action would go a long way!

Regards,
Mike Seoane

cjohnson728 08-25-2012 01:21 AM

That^^ is absolutely absurd. There is no excuse for that stupidity. How do they expect to run a business that way? I hope it gets resolved very quickly come Monday.

Judi, congrats on your exercise. Maybe that will insulate you against some of the food porn :p.

Well, I woke up to some unpleasant news this morning. Hubby's car needs a new transmission...$5K. I suppose that makes the car-for-son discussion moot at this point. Not what I wanted to deal with right now .

Mern 08-25-2012 01:29 AM

New Goals Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Wow, this is gonna be tough. Don't know if I can strictly follow the fat recommendations in the TLC (Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes) diet to further reduce my high triglycerides. But it can't hurt to try.

Problem #1 is that while one can always find saturated fat listed on food labels, I found that many of my custom foods don't list the amount of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats and they are not required to do so by USA law.

Problem #2 is just a matter of learning the new way of eating fats. I am accustomed to changing planned portion sizes and adding foods to make my saturated fat limit percentage come out on target. After thinking I had plenty of "wiggle room" in the form of leftover calories yesterday to make adjustments in my Friday food log, I read that on the TLC diet, one cannot add monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats to bring down the saturated fat percentage. The guideline is that you eat mono and poly fat IN PLACE OF, NOT IN ADDITION TO, saturated fat. So the only way to juggle my numbers now is to add zero fat foods. Looks like I've got a lot of "homework" to do.

BUT as my doc told me a couple times, "You don't have to be perfect--just better than you USED to be. She was OK with my previous goal limit of 12% sat fat, even though no more than 10% is recommended in a heart healthy diet.

Calorie limit 1500 1357
Net Carbs (total carbs less fiber) 25g net (no change) 20.4g
Fiber average 25g (no change) 32g
Lean meat, poultry, or fish 5 oz. maximum per day YES
Protein average minimum 120g Calling my 117g green because that was darned admirable in view of having only 5 oz. of meat. :p
Cholesterol average 200mg limit 182mg
Saturated fat average 8% of total calories 14%
Polyunsaturated fat average 10% of total calories can't accurately calculate because often not listed on my custom food labels.

cjohnson728 08-25-2012 01:49 AM

I agree, Mern, sounds like quite a logic problem you've got there. Although, you may find that making some improvements, even if not hitting all the numbers all the time, could go a long way. I share your frustration about the food labels. One of my self-imposed pie chart rules is that I like to see the unsaturated fats twice the amount of the saturated fat and it's a pain when I don't have that information. I wonder if it is something you eat frequently, if you can email the company to get that information? Does the TLC make a big distinction between mono and poly? Because you can figure out what they are together, obviously, by subtracting the saturated from the total.

Mern 08-25-2012 02:08 AM

Thanks to all for your congrats on my routine blood test results for blood glucose and cholesterol.

Darlene, fantastic job yesterday on food and exercise. The calorie burn just running up and down stairs is legitimate informal exercise. Way to go! :)

Jenn, great job on getting your blood sugar back down to normal! :)

Judi, I think all of us occasionally give ourselves a reprieve from regular goal restrictions. Kudos to you for logging everything and for doing your walk. Hope your tummy feels better today.

Mike, OMG, what a mess! It does indeed sound like the customer service reps at PowerSportsPlus are poorly trained. Your letter was right on point and well composed. I hope they make everything right ASAP.

Cassie, a huges YIKES! on the $5K transmission! So sorry! How is the boy taking the news of the delay in getting his own car?

Cassie, I forgot to mention that the restocking fee was $86.69! I'm now on live chat on their site with the original idiot.

You have got to be kidding me!

Thanks, Mern :(. The "own car" for the boy was never a guarantee and he knows that we were still discussing it. I wasn't sure what to do before and even less so now. We are replacing my car at the end of the year...it's 11 years old and has over 200K miles. My husband wants him to have that one, but it's a minivan, but my concerns with that are that it's cumbersome, is tempting to put a lot of friends in (not that he would, but I don't want him to be in the position of being asked or pressured to do so), and of course the dork factor of being a HS student driving a van. I was hoping to find a cheap, smaller-but-safe used car for him, but I'm not sure we can swing that now. He will be able to get his license in January, in time for second semester, and it would help tremendously if I can have something for him to drive and eliminate the pick ups and drop offs created by the band commitments and tennis season.

Oh, and after much drama, we got the video camera back from the amusement park. It's kind of smashed and nonfunctional. I guess that's what falling out of a pocket at 200 feet in the air will do :(. I can't win lately!

Okay, so I came on to post my weekend goals, since Thursday and Friday fell apart. Weekend warrior goals coming up!

1. Calorie limit 1200.
2. 100 oz. of fluids.
3. Exercise both days.
4. Eat very clean.
5. Make bread.
6. Get picture frames and hang them.
7. Write one report.
8. Proof 2 postdoc reports.
9. Work on scrapbook some.
10. Take boy driving / parallel parking.

nope.

I fired off another email, letting them know how to fix this problem. I figured I'd help them out, in case the supervisor is also clueless. This will be the last one that I send for now. I'll check back Monday to see if they saw the light of day... by pulling their head out of their.... ;)

I emailed you last night in regards to the issue with my order that is due to your reps. What needs to happen is the items on this order (that your rep put together) need to be cancelled EXCEPT for the two items that were on back order with the original order (70311474). Seeing that I've already paid for the items TWICE that need to be cancelled and I don't need duplicate parts, that money needs to be IMMEDIATELY refunded, along ridiculous restocking fee of $86.69. There should be no charges for cancelling the duplicated items on this order, as it was due to errors on your end. Even this doesn't even make completely right the wrong that has been done, the hours of MY time that I've spent (on the phone, on your chat, making copies of my statements as well as the emails) correcting the incompetence. It also doesn't it make up for me now having to wait extra time because your rep took it upon himself to cancel my order, or the fact that y'all now hold my money hostage, when it is PowersportsPlus that owes me money.

Regards,
Mike Seoane

Cassie, thanks. Like you've said to me before, it's all about averages. You really do have a heart-healthy diet lifestyle. That's wonderful!

The TLC diet guidelines are ideally:

--25-35% limit on daily calories from fat
--7% of total calories limit on sat fat
--10% limit from poly
--so 18% or more from mono.

But I'm going with 8% sat fat instead of 7. I don't know if I have the willpower or ability to go such low fat with already rigid goals for carbs and protein, but anything below my 12% sat fat would be an improvemnent.

I did some homework on poly and mono sources last night and will have to post a list on the fridge until I learn how to choose. I just won't put much stock in the food log numbers for poly and mono.

I thought last night about emailing the manufacturer of my protein shake mix because I use that to help achieve my protein goal. It has 6g total fat per serving, but only 1 gram is designated as sat fat, and the other 5 undesignated. With such a difference in the poly and mono TLC guidelines, it WOULD be a big help to know. It would at least help me choose my servings more wisely.

Maybe if I tell them the reason I need to know is due to trying to lower my high triglycerides via the TLC diet and no meds, they'll be interested enough to help me. Certainly can't hurt to try. I will compose an email form letter to request poly and mono nutrition facts for ALL the custom foods I use often. That will serve to be a worthwhile little project with not a whole lot of work involved.
Email is such a convenience, isn't it?

Thanks for your help, Cassie. :)

Mike, sad that you have to tell them how to straighten out that mess, but I think the company does NEED to be told. I love the point about holding your money hostage. Again--very good composition--exactly what they need to know without beating around the bush. Best wishes and huge hug to ya!

Mern- I hope you get some answers. I wish it wasn't so difficult to find out the information. Though I think you are doing the right thing.
Cjohnson- sorry about the transmission, I've been there.

So for me, this weekend and the upcoming week I need to pull it in pretty hard. I haven't been as accurate in my caloric accountability, and my weight is fluctuating a lot this week (I'm a weigh every day person). So between today and Monday I've got the food scale out and I am into total honesty with me!

Damn what kind of car is it? I've never heard of a $5k transmission... even with labor. Have you checked elsewhere?

It's a Honda Accord! Should be simple. Supposedly there is also something in the emissions and something had to be special-ordered. But I am hesitant to bring up the issue of comparison shopping because when I did I got a diatribe about how there is no time to screw around with it, need the car, know they'll do it right there, blah, blah, blah.

SMH.
