It's going alright pimp daddy! You seem a little better today, that's good to read. I just got a bunch of new clothes that I splurged on and I feel pretty, lol.

I woke up at 5:30 this morning pissed off. Donuts are not allowed on my thighs! I will not eat them, and I will not eat bagels or cream cheese! I will definitely go upstairs, confront the monsters , and reach behind all the carb laden boxes in hopes they also bought fruit (sometimes there are bananas or cuties). I promised I would stay clean and will to stick to it! Thanks for all the well wishes – I could feel the positive energy floating across the miles.

Friday I shall:
1 Work 3 hours
2 Go to the Gym – 1 hour min.
3 Keep calories under 1500
4 Eat a healthy dinner – even if we go out tonight.

Mai – I hope you are feeling better and had a wonderful Birthday party with your family. Good for you about throwing away the rest of the cake! Next year tell the fam that you will plan the menu and they just need to follow through with your wishes. It is your day and you should get exactly what you want! You are working toward a big time positive change with the P90X and I wish you the best of success!

Mern – Fantastic job this week! I don’t see any red at all! You have me reading labels big time now (not just the calories but the rest of the nutrition info as well) – thank you for the inspiration!

Luv – I really enjoy reading about your fitness goals and how you really follow though. I can definitely do better and I will try harder.

Nobe – You should sign up for one of those “survive in the wild” type shows. Pushing a stroller uphill full of groceries and a kid in there also… geez I need to get out and walk more…

Amy – I shall definitely search for the “choco-love” brand sounds super yummy. I can stay away from dessert every night as long as there is just one little bit of sweetness to get rid of the craving.

April – Good job about not stressing about the sonogram results and upcoming biopsy. It really sucks being a girl sometimes, I know. Just keep a positive attitude and you’ll be through all this before you know it!

Terri – Great job on maximizing the use of your food! I plan to go through the fridge this weekend now and do the same thing, and the cupboards as well. We waste way too much because we forget it is in there. Best of luck with the continuing job search, I wish you well on your next interview! With as hard as you are trying something wonderful must be waiting for you.

Yesterday was a really good day. It was my first day under 2000 calories in probably a week. I know that is a lot of calories but I am still fat so I have a high burn too. All week my burn has been over 3000 per day. But as you can see by my deficits my calories have too high for that to be effective.

Very busy day here at work so I gotta try to catch up with y'all real quick.

Jho ... Sorry my rant about sodium brought you to tears. Sodium is my biggest enemy in this whole weight loss battle. ... I can't wait to see your new goals next week. You sound so excited!

Mike ... I'm jealous! I want to meet MH!

Ama ... It's noon eastern time so by now you should have already avoided all that donut/bagel temptation. So thinking positively I am going to congratulate you now for resisting the urge.

Tori ... Good for you for walking even though your cousin bailed. I can kind of see how she lost her drive last night though. So I'll give her this one time to bail on ya.

Luv ... You are doing awesome on your goals!!!

Amy ... You had a really great day yesterday! ... LOL @ PopPorn...I think lots of kids call it that at first. ... I hear ya on my medical stuff between me & my son this year so far the insurance companies are probably hating my family. Thank God for good health insurance coverage though. ... I love to home make soup. I do potato soup with ham in it. Yum! I barely ever use my crock pot. For some reason a long time ago my hubby decided that anything cooked in there is mushy. I think his mom ruined him. Your soups sound wonderful and will be copied to my recipe folder when I get home tonight.

Mern .. Check you out with all your green! I know it's going to be St Patty's Day. Is that why you are going all green this week? LOL ... Those muffin tin omelettes sound pretty cool.

Mai ... I hope you get your groove back!

Terri ... We like to use up all of our leftovers too. My husband refuses to waste food if at all possible. We are actually having leftovers tonight. ... I have never skyed an interview. I bet that will be a different experience. Glad they are giving you the questions in advance. .... I hope that Dad was just doped up and had a momentary relapse. Unfortunately you will probably know in just a few days if that is not the case.

Well, guess I better go do what I am getting paid to do, LOL!

I read online that the muffin tin omelets DO NOT FREEZE WELL--that they turn watery when frozen. I made them for the first time yesterday, stored them in a ziplock bag in the fridge, (I'm sure plastic wrap would work, too) and they reheated quite nicely in the microwave this morning without getting overdone or rubbery.

Jho, yeah, all that green is TOTALLY unusual for me. Heck, I'm surprising MYSELF with it. LOL Since I have new non-stick skillets I can now make a nice omelet that doesn't stick to the pan. But on occasion when I mess up it's just as good as scrambled eggs. I hit a crazy-good sale at Kroger grocery store a few months ago where they had the Classico on sale for HALF PRICE for like three weeks. It wasn't in the weekly ad, but was marked on the shelf as clearance. I bought eight jars. But now they have it again, so I'm guessing customers requested they continue carrying it. Oh, that's fantastic that the increased water and the new vitamin are giving you more energy! Oh, dear, try to strong and committed with hubby gone. I understand that you don't like to cook, but maybe you could make a trip to the store and get some quick to fix fresh or convenience foods that you love that are on-plan and healthful that may not be a favorite of his so you don't prepare or serve it often. (Boy, that was a long sentence. LOL) When my DH is gone I get pre-cooked shrimp--DH doesn't like it but I love it.

Terri, I've had delicious pork dumplings, but it was a cheat for me because of the flour. Except for baked fish and mussels, everything I get Chinese is a cheat. I do love the beef and broccoli, but only if I cheat with the soy sauce. Let's face it, I totally suck at eating on-plan Chinese--because I have no willpower. DH will only go to the Chinese buffets around here because he's not crazy about any Oriental food and the buffets we go to have a selection of American foods as well. He goes to a Chinese buffet and winds up with chicken tenders or meat loaf and French fries and a tossed salad. LOL Thanks for the praise on all my green. Yeah, I don't mind my blue numbers at all as long as my average turns can still turn out green. I tried the muffin tin omelets for the first time yesterday and was surprised they turned out great the first time. Get this, though--DH's comment was that they were too "eggy". The egg was cooked perfectly, so I think he was expecting they'd taste like muffins or something. LOL Nice calorie deficit and water in your Thursday report. I hope you can get in more exercise this weekend. Wow, not kidding, my mouth was watering as I read your menu yesterday. Good job! Kudos on avoiding the mac & cheese and potatoes! DH and I have no problem eating leftovers--the grandkids are bad about shoving stuff in front of them, so sometimes something gets lost in there until it's too late. Yeah, that's it, we'll blame the kids. LOL Sometimes we decide we're not going to the store until we eat up the leftovers because we, too, hate to waste food. Aw, that's great that you got a lot of comments on your new shirt. Have fun shopping for the new workout clothes and undies. I burst out in a really loud high-pitched chuckle when I read your Dad wanted Wendy's after his surgery because he deserved it. I can totally relate to the "because I deserve it" part. LOL But seriously, you and your Mom need to keep being his food police if he won't do it on his own. Maybe it's harder for most men to curb their eating habits. It certainly was for my DH, but he's doing great now and is still managing his blood pressure without meds since switching to lowER carb.

Mai, we're so glad you came back to our group. Good for you for jumping back in with both feet, cleaning out your fridge, stocking up on healthful foods and that P90X that I know is quite a workout program. I hope your move to Germany works out wonderfully for you. Don't worry about catching up with our posts--it's very difficult because we are such an active group. Many times it's the best I can do to just skim the posts and then try to catch comments addressed directly to me. Just be sure to keep us posted how thing are going. Hoping your accountability and our support will help keep you on track.

April, kudos on all your magenta!!!! Another good day with DS. Marvelous! "Read something that's not Internet." Man, I don't do that enough these days, either. I understand about the 2000 calories not being high for you. Some people look at me funny when I say I have a limit of 1600 per day because they take it as not low enough to lose weight. But I tell them that being my weight I burn a lot of calories, too, because it takes more energy for me to achieve the same tasks that are easy for them. I'm just all green because when I go back to my doctor May 22, I want to have shed the 14 lbs. I regained plus some--so want to be at 199 or less. Actually 196 would be great because then I'd be down 50 lbs. from my highest weight ever, but I'll take 199 if I can get there.

Amy, so sorry for your swelling and discomfort. I know a lot of arthritic people can predict rain but I'm thinking it's due to the humidity. That's amazing you and your Mom can predict it on a sunny day even though you're not arthritic! Not a gift I'd like to have! Turnip greens taste similar to, but are a little stronger in flavor than, spinach. If you've ever had mustard greens, I can say that I don't think I could tell the difference between them and turnip greens in a blind taste test. I also love kale and collard greens. We don't have a hematode problem, but we often get box turtles eating our tomatoes. I hope you and the kids (and your Dad) have a great time at the parade.

Ama, stay strong! You're doing a GREAT JOB! You CAN avoid those doughnuts and bagels! I like how you post your DAILY goals. I'm too lazy to do that. Oh, I'm glad you mentioned you may go out for dinner tonight. We're going to a fish fry again at our friends' casual social club, and the side dishes are all carb-laden except for the veggie tray they had the past two weeks, but I can take myself a delicious low carb side and no one will mind. Yeah, how about that--MERN having no red at all through Thursday. Kinda makes us all do a double-take, doesn't it? LOL Aw, thanks for letting me know you are inspired to start reading nutrition labels. It can really help save us from messing up our food plans.

Interesting article about hunger/physiology/dieting at below link. I am a science geek so this type of information is right up my alley (once I got through the first few depressing paragraphs). The message both really sucks and makes total sense at the same time.

In the middle of my busy, busy day and a customer calls in to order a case of fish. He then wants to know what I like on my pizza. Pepperoni and mushrooms I say. So when he comes in to pick up his fish he pushes through my window a fresh, hot, smells oh-so-good pepperoni & shroom large pizza. I had to let it sit here next to me for about 20 mins until I got a chance to write my name on it and take it to the cooler. Guess what we are having with our leftovers tonight. My leftovers will probably be a salad with chicken philly meat & peppers & onions on top of it. And hopefully I can limit it to 2 slices of this pizza.

Default For all of us insomniacs

Hi Everyone,
I am totally enjoying all the posts - as usual.

A friend sent this to me last week regarding sleep. It turns out that those of us who tend to wake up in the middle of the night are just reverting to an old habit from the days before lighting at night was common.

I especially like the recommendation from the Dr. who says that the middle of the night waking period is the best time for "procreation" .

April, what a nice customer. Enjoy your dinner. OMG, that salad sounds divine.

Ama, thanks for sharing that article. I have to take my GD to work, then going out for dinner, but I'll read it later.

Pam, I'm looking forward to reading that article on sleep this evening. I'm pretty sure I wake up so often because of having a small bladder. But I'll tell ya right now at age 65 I ain't doin' no freakin' PROCREATING when I wake up! LOL
