Chrispearson, will be starting the whole Alli thing tomorrow but if it is too involved or restricted I probably won't like it either. I really don't like premade menus that don't offer substitutions that isn't realistic.
Nail-lady I've found a fellow Seinfeld fan that show Rocked keeping a water bottle is a handy thing to do I should start that also- started a new workout routine this week..."The fat burning furnace" found it online 2 weeks ago and I just finised the break in phase now I'm at the beginner level for next 12 weeks I like it so far.

msmarilyn3, I am a huge Seinfeld fan! I remember that Elaine episode well. I would like to get my sexy on, too. It's been awhile. I have tried lots of diets, but low carb seems to work best for me. See, I have a HUGE sweet tooth, and the low carb diet gets rid of my craving for sweets. Add walking on the treadmill at the gym and some light weights, and low and behold, weight lost. It does get boring, but I don't feel hungry. I'm hoping to look decent in a bathing suit by this summer. Anybody else have summertime goals?

Default Hi all...

Hi all,
I made a similar post in the Sexy Girls thread, but wanted to say hi here as well. Hope you are all doing well.
I haven't got too much working out in, just a couple walks around the mall.
I also stopped in at New York & Co. clothing store while I was there. LOVE their clothes, always have. I had a sort of a epiphany while there. I was looking at all of their cute work/career pants and jeans. I decided that my big goal is to get into a size 10 at that particular store. I wear their size 18 now, 16 are tight. I have not been a size 9 or 10 since high school, and that is small for me, as I have a larger frame and was really thin when wearing that size. But I would LOVE to wear that size again and really enjoy all of the cute clothes without wondering if I will look to fat in them. To me, that would REALLY be getting my sexy back. So beyond my weight goal of 195 in June
(1st weight goal), a size 10 at NYC & Co is my goal. They had a really cute pair of white/cream slacks on sale ($20) that I almost bought in a size 10 or 12, for this summer, but I didn't. Should I go back and get a pair for some real inspiration? Or is that setting myself up for failure? I have never been one to buy a smaller size thinking I will fit in it later. However, I have always thought cream or white pants look very classy, but would never wear them because I thought I was too big. Sorry, thinking out loud, LOL

Hope you are all doing well. My weigh in day is tomorrow. I have not stepped on the scale in a few days, which is a lot of time for me. I was getting on it a few times a day, but then would get frustrated to see the weight go up and down as it does throughout the day. So I decided to only weigh myself first thing in the morning and only 1-2x's/week. Keeping my fingers crossed for some loss tomorrow, but I kinda feel at a plateau this week - just a feeling.

Good luck all and let's hear from you

Default Alli also...

I just bought Alli also! I have not remembered too well to take it though! And I have not logged onto the website. I got the Starter Kit at my Walmart for $25. It came with 60 pills and several small books with info, meal ideas and tips. Those have been really helpful. But I don't think I will use the website either. Especially if another said it was confusing. I found some oft he meal info too time consuming as well, and think my nutrition is getting better and better. I think we just need to make sure we eat less fat while on Alli. Their tip said no more than 3g of fat per 100 calories. I can remember that.

Let me know how the Alli goes. One of my friends was worried about the side effects for me. I should look into it more.

Nkygirl Low carb diets are great for getting rid of your taste for sweets, but I have a long time sticking to it for very long
I'm hoping to slim down by this summer since we're going to try to go to SanFrancisco and LA and Lord knows I'm going to feel uncomfortable around all those "beautiful people" Glad to have you join our journey

Hi Destiny
The only time I purchased something that was too small was my wedding dress and with the count down looming I did some very creative & unhealthy things to lose that weight ha-ha! New York and Company does have great clothes if you think it would inspire you to keep on the diet then why not buy the pants and consider it part of an investment toward a better you. Best of luck on the scales tomorrow

I was wondering about the use of fiber to lessen the side effects. For example, if I were to take fiber tablets like Glucomannan a natural soluble fiber before a meal along with my alli if that would combat the negative effects? It is not something that would be harmful so I'm gonna try it- I'll let you know what happens

Good Morning! Destiny, It's sexy to dream about fitting into smaller sizes and seeing the actual clothes you want in the future, I do that in Anne Taylor. If buying those pants inspires you to stick to you goal, go for it! Good luck at the scales!

Marilyn, yeah the low carb diet is great for getting rid of the cravings, but as you probably know, it's hard to stay on it for a long time. I just find that with other diets, especially those where you just count calories, I eat too many carbs. I may only eat 1,200 calories, but they are carbs like popcorn, pretzels, oh maybe just a little cookie here and there. I can't lose weight on those kind of diets. So, low carb keeps me honest. I hope to start modify it soon, and adding diary and more fruit. It works for me now.

I'm so glad I found this forum. Thanks for the welcome.

Default I wanna get my "sexy back", too!

I totally feel that unsexiness, too! I felt like I had it going on about two and a half years ago, but life took a few unexpected turns and I let it slide. Now I have gained 20 pounds (I already had 20 that I still needed to lose at the time! yikes!) and I am now 40 pounds overweight. Motivation is just eluding me, too! So I can totally understand how anyone would feel when we are overweight... I mean, we have this totally ridiculous, unachievable, and downright stupid standard of beauty in the media, and so many of us are made to feel ugly and worthless unless we meet that standard. I mean, look at all the "doctored" photos of models, singers, and actresses that are plastered all over the place - TV, movies, magazines, billboards - you can't escape it!

Hey Nickygirl,
I have to cut back my carbs too...carbs drive me crazyI'm gonna start upping my protien and lowering my carbs somewhat which is another reason I'm gonna try the Alli thing since a lot of the high protien things I like are high in fat also
