Thanks. It just time to get to 210 and under. I've been swimming around way too much in the same few pounds. So .. refocus . ...

Just saw kettlebells in the store last night. They look like quite interesting --I'm definitely keeping them in mind for a change in pace sometime down the road. I think I'll always associate kettlebells with Kay on FitDay.

almeeker ~ Yahooo for your dd and for you!!! I love it when the healthy choices sink in with the kids. Just warms the heart.

WOW! I'm mesmerized with all your green! How do you get 100 oz water in?

Darlene ~ Sorry for the soggy battle! Please don't get sick over it, but I love your spirit. I really feel like it's been a battle for me & so that's why I have to stay focused & get back on track. I love this site & people, but I also love the Health Group that I go to weekly. I just need all the reinforcements that I can.

April Hang in there you are doing the right thing for him, hopefully tomorrow he will be in better spirits.

Amy Good job on getting the living room cleaned up but let’s face it until your kids are well into their teens you are fighting a losing battle.

Cassie I am glad I ate my stir fry because tonight’s dessert was plum pudding with whip cream and I was able to pass because I had already had all my calories today.:)

Mike I hope your numbers work out to be great!

Tori How sweet he pre planned sending you an email that’s pretty awesome.

Kay Great job with homework and exercise you are doing so well.

Fit4luv You are doing great on your goals. Thanks for your concern about me walking in the rain but I have invested in some good hiking clothes a couple months back so my outside was soggy but under layers were still in good shape.:)

I am pretty happy with my exercise today I got my soggy hike in and also a good long walk later when the rain was light. I made great food choices all day even though I am famished still. I hope tomorrow to wake up not hungry!
Have a great night everyone.:)

Goals:
Walk 25k: M=7.1k, T=6k, W=0, T=11.6k
Exercise 5 days: M=Hike, T=Walk, W=No, T=Hike & Walk
Squats 5 days: M=Y, T=Y, W=Y, T=N
Ab work 5 days: M=Y, T=Y, W=Y, T=Y

100 oz of water is easy if you "divide and conquer". Basically I start my day with a 24 oz bottle of water (I'm crazy thirsty first thing in the morning), then I have one between breakfast and lunch, another between lunch and dinner, and the last one with and after dinner (hopefully downed by 9:00pm). The last 4 oz I generally get when I brush my teeth and take my meds. If I have a really good workout I usually get to 125 oz.

Amen for support and reinforcements.

almeeker 02-09-2012 10:17 PM

Tori, how in the world do you make and eat chicken pot pie and only consume 970 calories? I could eat twice that before I got it into the oven. And while we're on the topic, it's very cruel of you to talk about homemade chicken pot pie and not share the recipe, just saying...

You're so not kidding. I'm on a mission though, I'm sick to death of living in a pig sty, the kids need to get it through their heads that they may not "stop & drop". OMG our 5 year old is TERRIBLE about stuff like that. It doesn't matter what it is, she will drop whatever, wherever. Just having her home is like a small fast tornado blowing through the house. I'm not asking her to be perfect, all I'm asking is that she not leave a mile wide debris field in her wake.

I'm not real sure either. I plan on double checking those numbers when I get home and will readjust if necessary. I'll also post the recipe...takes too long on the phone

It was super sweet. It's one of the things that I like about him, he's UberThoughtful! I know Ive only mentioned him in a positive light so far, but he does have negative qualities too. But right now I'm still in the "aww he's so perfect" phase of the relationship. :p

bojibridge 02-10-2012 12:54 AM

Okay, yesterday sucked. Actually, not entirely true. I went to the gym and felt really good about that, and the eating was good until I couldn't put down the rice cakes and peanut butter. Otherwise, it sucked. But, come on, things could be so much worse - seriously. Today should be better if only by virtue of the fact that it's Friday.

April, I'm still keeping you in my thoughts - I'm so impressed with your ability to keep pretty positive about this whole thing, I think you could teach me a thing or two.

Tori - I'm so jealous of your pot pie! I love pot pie so hard, holy cow. That's sweet about the email.

wildbeanerz 02-10-2012 01:11 AM

Amy ... keep at it. You will win the clean house battle. Since mine were both about 10 I have heard from people that you wouldn't even know I had kids except for the video game consoles and games that are in the tv stand. I have just had a general rule that if you aren't using it, it should be in your room. Kind of harsh but their rooms are almost as clean as the rest of the house at this point.

Tori ... That is a definite "AWWWWwwwwww!" moment! :D

Darlene ... Hiking in the rain. Girl, I bow to you. I skipped mine because I didn't want my hair wet from snow flakes the other day. Then again it is curly and would have melted and turned into a huge mess for the rest of the day at work.

Mike ... I hope you get your bonus!

Thank you everyone for your continued encouragement! I called this morning to see how he was overnight and they said he was just fine. He slept through the night and must have calmed himself because he was not irritated or medicated (other than his usual meds). I am thinking for sure that he was just trying to get me to cave in. I hate to be that way, but I can't cave on this. I have my hubby, my other son, and myself to think of. As hard as it is for him to be there, it isn't safe for him to be at home right now. He could hurt himself, one of us, or just walk out and leave in the middle of the night. So for my sanity, I know he has to be there. I just wish it wasn't so hard. I do think if he tries that again tonight, I'm going to give him a chance to stop yelling at me and if he doesn't I will have to hang up. It just isn't productive. My hubby thinks if I hang up on him while he is acting like that a time or two that he will get the point that he can't disrespect me like that. ... One positive thing happened yesterday for this whole situation. The psychiatrist told me personally that I am doing everything that I can for my son. He appreciates my open, honest attitude and how willing I am for him to help my son. Now if only my son would see that and actually talk to this doctor instead of cursing him out and leaving when he tries to get him to open up.

Life Goals...
1. Take things one day at a time M: so far so good, T: had a good day, W: doing what I can, Th: Rough, but yes, it's all I can do,

Yesterday was great for my goals! I walked briskly because it was cold out and got in my 2 miles in 36 mins. Not too shabby for a fat chick! :p Food hasn't always been the most nutritious (had macaroni salad last night) but with portion control I am still getting a nice deficit every day. It is showing on the scale each morning.

Tomorrow night is our annual recognition dinner for work. I'm not sure what the menu will be but last year was ... in white Fillet mignon with grilled veggies and chicken breast on rice, salad with house dressing and very decadent cheesecake with strawberries & whipped cream. Fresh baked rolls and little butter pats shaped like the convention centers logo LOL ... My hubby refers to it as the 7 fork dinner. :) I hope to have earned the right to eat freely that night and get back to it on Sunday then without too much damage. They also have a cocktail hour before the dinner where there are tables of hors d'oeuvres and cheese trays and fruits and all the wine, cocktails, beers you can drink for free for an hour before getting seated for dinner. It is a very big to-do. We don't drink and hubby has to work both days this weekend so we are planning on sneaking in about half way through the cocktail hour to be there to mingle just a little before being seated. Standing is extra hard on him on work nights. It will be a nice break from life for a few hours.

Mern 02-10-2012 02:41 AM

Joanna, yes, "better than terrible" IS "a win." That's better than Martha Stewart's "GOOD things." Big hug to ya! :)

Quinn, we're all sending more cyberhugs to keep you in good supply. And you don't have to stick coins in vending machines to get them. :p

Terri, true story: it was in doing the dreaded schedule C one time when I was babysitting for a fee that I discovered I was actually LOSING money on taking care of a family of four children. I had kept receipts for educational materials, craft supplies, etc., but hadn't kept track of things like soap, bathroom tissue, snacks and meals that I was allowed to average. Too bad I waited until the end of the year to figure that! My lasagna was made with just Dreamfields ("low net effective carb") dried lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese, lean ground beef, turkey sausage, Ragu light tomato and basil pasta sauce, mozarella and Parmesan cheeses and came in at only 10.3g net carbs per serving. Not bad but that one serving was 41% of my allowed net carbs for the entire day. But, ooh, was it worth it! :p Wow, hats off to you for taking that walk and being able to sort out your thoughts and feelings. That is really wonderful! Is that because walks make you feel temporarily totally liberated or something that you can think so clearly to sort things out?

Amy, I'm torn--I like the E10 Butterfinger AND the E1 Snickers bar. Aw, that is great that you have a buddy with similar parenting tactics. Helps a lot. I got really miffed yesterday when my 10 year old granddaughter's teacher had her call me because she left her homework on top my desk after I had told her twice to put it in her bookbag. I was cordial to my granddaughter and told her I was sorry, but that couldn't bring it to her. (I didn't tell her why, but I "couldn't" bring it because I didn't think it was in her best interest--this is a bad habit she needs to break.) The consequence was that she missed her recess which was fine and appropriate in her case, BUT what miffed me was that another child who forgot HIS homework did NOT get punished because his mother brought HIS homework up to the school. So what the teacher allowed my granddaughter to learn was that she got punished because an adult didn't bail her out of trouble. I came right out and told my granddaughter that she did deserve to miss recess for not having her homework, BUT she should have missed recess because SHE didn't bring it, not because her GRANDMA couldn't. I added that I hope when she's an adult she never punishes a child for something someone else did or did not do. Maybe that was not the right thing for me to say, but I think it's OK for children to know that sometimes adults don't always do what's right.

I gotta go for now. Gotta hunt for an auto part on the Internet.

almeeker 02-10-2012 02:48 AM

April I feel for you honey. This mom stuff is not easy. You are not alone in the "tough love" department, I had to lay it down with the eldest this morning, I was not the least bit nice, but it's for her own good. Some day she'll thank me, but um, it most definitely won't be today.

Good luck with your "7 fork" dinner, sounds like a decidedly "up-scale" event.

Lizards13 02-10-2012 03:04 AM

April You are handling this situation with your son very well and I'm glad that the Dr is giving you positive feedback on that. Stay strong and try to really enjoy your night out with hubby, you sooo deserve it.

Tori Awwww on the email, isnt technology wonderful sometimes. Hope the choir didn't make you too soggy.

Im catching up on work at home this afternoon and then will settle in for a quiet evening with the cat. It's almost splishy splashy time.

taubele 02-10-2012 03:05 AM

Amy: Awwww, what a Mom moment for you!!! That must have been so lovely to read. It makes me wonder if my parents ever read stuff like that around my room, haha! I'm glad DH is home, that's always a great thing.

Mea: Dieting isn't necessarily fun, but support and the people on this board make doing this for ME worth it on the days that I can't root for myself. Seriously, I don't know what I'd do if I hadn't found this group, and I'm so glad you're taking inspiration here too, just like I did. Great job bouncing back after your "red" day!

April: Big group hugs back to you, and WTG on feeling it in your abs. I've been mulling over adding more abs to my own workouts because I feel like I don't work them enough. I work the heck out of my legs and butt, but it's my abs/belly that are really starting to bother me now. I'm sorry that you're going through so much emotional turmoil with your son, I can't imagine how hard that must be on you. I agree with his doc - you are doing the absolute best you can.

Darlene: The new puppy is going to give you lots of extra workouts!!!

Cassie: I was rolling on the floor at "chocolate is not a coping skill." I am going to stick that on the fridge!! Hahaha.

Pam: Not sure I have advice on the admin assistant other than to lead by example. Maybe if you make some healthy snacks, offer her some? Don't mention they're healthy or anything, see if she starts a conversation?

Tori: Wonderful about the e-mail from CN AND your weight! Wahoo!!

Mern: I think with me for the walks, it's a little bit of liberation, and I'm also just away from everything distracting. I'm not thinking about the next thing I have to do on my desk, and I'm away from all the little things I use to procrastinate during the day. There's nothing but me and the track that I know I have to go around four times. So I think it's just a simplicity thing. I think I also feel good that I am getting in "me" time at work. Lol, it's hard to know why it helps, but I'm going to try to make a habit of it. I don't walk too fast (I am in work clothes when I walk and don't want to work up a sweat) but even just making sure I move every day is, I hope, a step in the right direction for me. Your lasagna recipe sounds deeeeevine.

This thread has me debating whether I should attempt chicken pot pie or lasagna this weekend, lol. Thoughts?

Sorry if I missed anyone, you guys have been chatty!!!

8) Weigh in on Monday and Friday and report the weight here M: 161.5 (Superbowl, you do bad things to me) F: 158.6

Other Life Goals:

2) Don't sweat the small stuff M: yes T: Tried really hard W: Needed to regroup, but yes Th: Yes
3) Send in at least 5 job applications M: 2 T: 0 W: 0 Th: 0
4) Do something special for BF - he was a saint all this weekend. M: not yet - I need to come up with a good idea T: I have a V-day idea, but I want to do something non-V-day related. W: not yet, but I have an idea Th: Operation "Everything Favorite Ever" was planned and will be initiated Friday evening
5) Write something wonderful that happens every day M: Got my taxes done and am getting more refund than I thought. T: BF did the dishes  IT'S A MIRACLE. W: Managed an unexpectedly choppy day yesterday. Th: I got through a very long day, lol

My weight this morning was the EXACT same as it was Wednesday. I was a little bummed, as I know I've been having a good week, but I'm just going to blame it on lunch at lab meeting (a slice of pizza + a breadstick and a half from Pizza Hut) plus unexpected dinner out, as BF fell asleep on the couch and didn't make dinner. He's not feeling 100%, he says he feels a cold coming on. I went to Chipotle for dinner, which I call "healthy" take out. It's certainly better than fries and a burger - I usually get a bowl of brown rice, black beans, chicken, fresh salsa, a little cheese and lettuce - but I'm fairly certain it's loaded with salt and that the calories on the website are underestimated (though I log it based on what the website says). I'm sure everything is canned, so canned black beans + canned tomatoes + salty rice = I probably had a lot of sodium yesterday. So, I'm probably just full of salt and I will keep on keepin' on. I am having a good green week this week, no reason to stop.

BF FINALLY got the call to come in and start at his new job - he'll be starting at 11:00 today. We'd been waiting on the call only to find out that the guy who was to train him took vacation days this week (nice coordination, guys!!) so that's why everything was delayed. The general manager of the store was nice enough to call him about it and explain himself, though, so he appreciated that he was being taken seriously. He's not feeling 100% and is nervous, so I think if I get home at a decent hour (which I should today) I am just going to have an "all about BF" night. I am going to make him one of his favorite dinners, I will watch boy movies with him on Netflix, I'm going to run out and buy his favorite chocolates (just a little thing of them, but he LOVES those Ferrero Rocher things) and in general wait on him hand and foot tonight.

I know V-day is next week and these are traditional V-day things to do, but we actually have a seperate set of Valentine's Day traditions that we do which are a little different, and I also think that I shouldn't have to wait for V-day just to do something nice. He's been so lovely lately and I want to celebrate him because of that, and not because I'm "supposed" to on a holiday.

Need to get three more job apps out today to get that off my list. Hopefully I will have time to work out tonight, but if not, I will definitely do a big one on Saturday morning. I hope everyone has a happy Friday :)

~Terri

C'mon, Joanna, climb back on with the rest of us. Some are doing really, really well, so don't mean to generalize. Is it me, though, or did it seem to take longer to snap back this time. SMH.

Mern, now I'm hungry for candy AND lasagne. Good thought on your part about the homework; you can never be too young to learn to be responsible.

April, I'm glad you got some validation from the doc that you're doing all you can. I'm thinking it could be that your son feels very threatened about opening up to anyone because oftentimes teenagers especially feel like if they start, they won't be able to close the floodgates afterward. If he has so much built up that it overflows in the concerning things you've seen, it's got to be pretty intimidating to think about letting someone probe at that. Which in turn leads to opposition and anger, because it effectively (usually) keeps others away. The good news is that he is in a very safe place and once he starts to let go and doesn't die, he'll be more likely to do so on a more regular basis. Hang in there! Easy to say, I know.

Terri, congrats again on BFs job. Happy Day! Great job this week!

So, finally had the mammogram today. My rant about that needs to go in white. It was horrible. But not to scare anyone off...go, if you can...have it done. This was my 4th one. The first 2 were done by older, nurturing, rotund-ish ladies, no problem, no discomfort. Last year was fair. It wasn't painful, but it didn't feel good. This time it was a young woman. She wasn't rushing or careless, but for some reason it brought tears to my eyes. The only thing I can think of was that I was 20 lbs. heavier for the first two, and it is no secret on this board that I am not well-endowed. So the discomfort was the plates and corners digging into my rib cage and underarms, because I had to push in in order to get what I've got onto the plate. But, glad I did it, and I will do it again, and encourage others to do so. If you're not a barely-A or AA, you should be fine :).

Headed out to lunch with a friend from work for his birthday. I hope he picks a good restaurant for healthy choices!

I was torn too, but not by the Butterfinger vs. Snickers, for me it's always Snickers vs. Reese's PB Cups. Ugh, I'm driving the struggle bus and talking candy bars. It does not help that I have to bake today. I've already made the peanut butter scootchies, but I've also got the ingredients for a batch of chocolate spritz sandwich cookies with raspberry cream. Oi. Our 4-H Club is having a bake sale tomorrow. The unspoken agreement is that if you cannot work the bake sale you must bring extra atonement goodies. We have 3 children in 4-H and an away swim meet tomorrow, the math is not in my favor.

I completely agree about the homework. Actually at our school, starting in 3rd grade they work on "responsibility". If your child forgets something they need for school, you are discouraged from taking it to them. If you take it in anyway, they generally hold it at the office until the end of the day, unless it's their lunch box, that's a little different. Even better if a child is missing any of the required 5 pieces of snow gear (hat, mittens, boots, coat, snowpants), they have to spend their recess standing next to "the wall". Same thing on gym day if they forget their tennis shoes. Middle DD forgets stuff all the time, so she occasionally has to spend recess on the wall. It is what it is. I wonder if she has her boots today?

Because I'm feeling lazy today . . .

I'm putting out my Friday Mission here on this board. It's simple, but I'm working on building up routine with Strength Training. It would be so easy just to let it slide. . .

FRI MISSION --> Strength Train: Lower Extremities and Abd/Back

01gt4.6 02-10-2012 05:55 AM

I think I need 11.5 in the next 8 weeks. I wrote another today. That's 2 for the week. Getting back to work. Later my lovely aardvarks.

wildbeanerz 02-10-2012 06:49 AM

Oh My Gosh!

I need advice. I went shopping on lunch for some retail therapy and I thought I needed a nice new top for tomorrow night's dinner. I never buy expensive things for myself and this wouldn't really be expensive but it was $27 and I don't know if I will wear it other than that dinner because it's pretty low cut but I couldn't help it! But now that it is in the bag in my car, I'm second guessing myself. Is it too tight? Is it too low cut? Did I waste my money? Do I look like a cow in it? So here's the pic that I snapped in the dressing room to send to my hubby. What do you think? Don't be nice...be honest! Because I can see lots of imperfections! Oh and don't mind my goofy face. I was trying to see that my whole body was in the phone. And I'm having a bad hair day too!

Amy My son is 20 and still spends a ridiculous amount of time looking for where he put his stuff down so I wish you luck on the stop and drop mindset. We ended up instilling a pay for chores plan in our house as hubby and I both worked full time and I just couldn’t cope with an hour or two of housework on top cooking supper. I am not sure if it’s perfect parenting and many of my friends had opinions on that but my kids learned early work = money the harder you work the more money both of my kids have a great work ethic and both had part time jobs at 17 we wouldn’t let them work before that due to school work and sports commitments. I wish you luck in your child chore training it’s a hard one.:)

Tori We all have negative qualities my Mom used to say you know you have found your husband when you can live with his bad traits the good ones anyone can live with.

Joanna Good job on looking at the positive choices in your otherwise sucky day, I am also glad its Friday it been a long week not really bad just long and a lot of little frustrations everyday.

April I would not of walked yesterday if I was at work and lol at the curls one of my closest friends has a head full of red curly hair and its funny to me (not so much for her) to watch what different weather does to it, oh my her hair in light rain doubles in size it is crazy. Look at all your green seriously pat yourself on the back. Enjoy your dinner it sounds amazing and you certainly need a treat night so enjoy it.:D

April I am so happy the Dr took the time to tell you how well you are doing in this situation you are a good mom and its great you are thinking of what’s best for him in the long run not just what he wants today and one day way in his future he will thank you for the choices you are making today. Stay strong!

Mern I hope you find your auto part on the net I am horrible at finding things I need online.

Lizzie Enjoy Attachment 304 I love this smiley and I am glad I stole it from you, lol. I think I might need a little red wine myself tonight.

Terri I vote lasagna. Enjoy your bf night I am sure he will appreciate it.

Cassie Sorry you had a bad tech for your mammo I do not think it’s supposed to be uncomfortable even for smaller ladies but I am very glad you did it know I will pray you are normal like Amy or even lumpy normal like me.:D

Fit4luv I hope you enjoy your strength training!

Mike That’s 1.5 a week you can do that no problem!

I took out a roast for dinner so now I need to go to the grocery store for potatoes and the dreaded white flour to make yorkshire puddings which I will try to resist eating. I need to get some housework done today I seem to be a slacker this week so I motivated myself by looking up things like calories burnt while vacuuming, while doing laundry and I may just call housework exercise today.Enjoy your friday everyone.

wildbeanerz 02-10-2012 06:53 AM

LOL @ Amy ... "up-scale" ... I have to admit I didn't even catch that until Cassie snorted!

dar n 02-10-2012 07:08 AM

April I think its pretty and you certainly do not look like a cow but here is what really matters
Are you comfortable in? it if I am not comfortable I won't wear it.
Does it make you feel good or self consequence? When we feel good thats what shows.
and keep in mind we always see the flaws because we are works in progress so do not be to hard on yourself.
I do not know if that helps but those are my 2 questions I ask myself when I buy clothes.:)

Lizards13 02-10-2012 07:18 AM

April. I agree with Darn, we can tell you how pretty the top is on you but if you are not comfortable then you will not be happy. You DO NOT look like a cow, and who doesn't have imperfections? If you like this top, flaunt those puppies, there are ladies out there who pay a lot of money for cleavage like that lol

wildbeanerz 02-10-2012 07:27 AM

I bought it with the promise to my hubby that if he didn't like it, I would return it. He also has to feel comfortable with what I'm wearing. I don't think I will feel any more uncomfortable in this top than any other one. I always feel like I look fat or many people are looking at me. Only difference now is, there really are a lot of people looking at me but they usually come to tell me how good I look now.

Thanks for the opinions. My main object of focus is the roll above the belly button because it has become more deflated the past week or so and I can see it in this picture.

dar n 02-10-2012 07:49 AM

April I had to scroll back to see if your roll was that bad so it must not of caught my eye the first time! Really you will not stand at your party with your arm back like that it will fall causally to your side so you may be seeing something that you wouldn't normally this is an awkward stance plus the pretty pattern in the front is whats going to draw peoples attention and from one large busted lady to another that blouse has a flattering cut.:D

dar n 02-10-2012 07:51 AM

Lizzie I would love to sell some of mine hmm maybe Cassie would like some.:D

wildbeanerz 02-10-2012 07:53 AM

Now to decide to wear black pants which are mostly kind of baggy or a shortish black skirt. This shirt has an irregular hemline. It's hard to see in the pic but it comes to almost a point in the middle of the front and the back.

haha! I have offered mine to my friend quite a few times. She is about 5'6" or 7" and weighs like 97 lbs soaking wet.

dar n 02-10-2012 08:00 AM

I always feel more girly in a skirt and my hubby likes to see a little leg on ladies so my vote is skirt but without seeing it my advice goes back to what makes you feel good.

By the way you look amazing compared to the first pic I seen of you its truly awesome:D Your hard work is showing in this picture and you should be strutting your stuff tonight people who seen you last year will be doing a double take.:D

Rant about temptation.
I am suffering from fitday advertising frustration the last couple days. Yesterday I was being tempted by tim hortons lattes for my u.s. friends tim hortons is a donut store in disguise as a coffee shop a small flavored latte is 190 calories and then you are tempted by donuts and coldstone creamery icecream not really a healthy place to be encouraged to visit. Today I have a side screen of thin pretty women asking if I am single and making me feel fat(ok this is my issue not theirs but still:o)? I get we need advertising and I have no objections to diet and exercise ads or even healthy food ads but Timmy's no thanks.:(

Thursday's Goals

Hi everyone,

Pretty good day today, no food worries today, I may be able to add a little "splishy splashy" too! My focus today has been on getting as many steps in as possible and still get some work done. Every half hour I've been getting up and walking thru the office including running up the stairs and walking around up there. I'm getting some weird looks but we'll see if it helps at the end of the day. Here's yesterday,

1200-1400 cals M-1279 T-1299,1324, 1359
80 oz water M-64 oz T-80 oz W- 80 oz Th- 80 oz
Treadmill T-Th-Sat T-Yes, Th-Yes
5000 steps on non TM days 3479, 3547
8000 steps on TM days 4985, 5894
Weights and Floor Exercises at least 3 times. No, No,Yes,No
Post here every day Yes, YesYes, Yes

Kay- Hope today is even better for you!

Quinn- Hope all is well with you and your Mom

Cassie- 7 boxes! You sound like me with the coupons and bogo! Glad your mammo is out of the way, I’ve had good and bad too, but with my Mom having had breast cancer it is definitely a necessity.

Terri- Congrats on BF’s job, enjoy your evening, you are doing great!

Mea- Hope today has been a good day for you!

Tori- So glad you heard from him, even if it wasn’t technically him hitting send, he wrote it and left instructions, what a sweetie! Hope that soon he is able to write himself. I’d love to have that pot pie recipe if you have time!

Darlene- Sounds like you had a good day, hope you woke up not as hungry!

Lizzie- Enjoy your splishy splashy, I think I might make room for some myself today!

April- You are doing all the right things for your son, I know how hard it is but he is where he needs to be for the time being. Enjoy your special dinner, you deserve a little break! Darlene and Lizzie are right, what matters is that you are comfortable in it so you can enjoy your dinner. And no, you don’t look like a cow and it’s not too low cut. I think it’s very pretty.

Mike- Congrats on the policy! Hope everything else is going well

Mern- You did the right thing with your granddaughter, she will learn to have her hw this way. The teacher was wrong to allow the kids to even ask for the papers to be brought in.

Luv- Way to be accountable, now you have to do the strength training, good job!

Have a great evening everyone!

Julie

dar n 02-10-2012 08:36 AM

Julie Your plan to add extra steps while doing normal life activities is a smart one you will see results in no time. My dd teases me because I always park as far away from the mall or dr's office to get those extra few steps in.:D

My second *snort* of the day ;).

In the winter, I would love to take you up on it, with sweaters, turtlenecks, etc., but in summer, I admit to loving being able to wear the tank tops with the shelf bra and not need anything else, and it's a lot cooler to wear those strappy exercise tops, too. So I take the good with the bad!

April, I think the top is very pretty and feminine; I'm glad you got it. I can't tell from the photo, but could you put a camisole under it for work or other uses?

Julie, how many more months is work crazy? 'Bout 2??? Hang in there!

dar n 02-10-2012 08:53 AM

Cassie halter tops, tube tops, strapless dresses, off the shoulder shirts, backless shirts all just a fantasy for me I am a 34 g so clothes shopping is a challenge dresses, bra's and bathing suits especially I am a extra large top and medium bottom. It always surprises me that people would choose to alter their body just to put up with some of the challenges of being very busty.

cjohnson728 02-10-2012 09:38 AM

Argh, I just loaded everything in and today is not looking good calorie-wise. My friend chose Mexican and I went with my usual. They do a burrito that has 4-5 oz. of breast meat chicken and they sprinkle the cheese on the lettuce on top, so it's easy to scrape the cheese off, and the sauce is salsa-y and spicy, not greasy. Still, between the chicken, cheese, tortilla, and (ahem), the chips (one serving, I swear), it's still more calories than I like at lunch. And then there was a honey-roasted peanut incident when I got home. It could have been worse; I stopped at a serving and a half, but still, it all adds up. I'm planning on a light dinner, hopefully minimal snacking, and a double on exercise tonight. Gotta post it, cause this is the exact set of circumstances that makes me say, oh, heck, and then proceed to eat everything.

Oh, and there's a commercial for a show called My 600 Pound Life. As they say here in the south, God bless 'em.

If I don't get back on here tonight, somebody please come find me and dig me out of the pantry!

It's Weekend Warrior time! :D

nononononononono, it's not God bless 'em. It's just Bless 'Em! or Bless It!!!

Oh, I knew it was too good to be true!! I was reworking my pot pie numbers, and yea there was a data entry error. So yesterday sits at 1674 calories, not 970. (feel better Amy?) I was tired, and didn't feel like going back over the numbers last night, looks like I should have. So that puts me UP in calories yesterday. Good thing I hadn't planned on doing much eatin' tonight :(

Pot pie recipe for those who want it......with some color commentary:p

So, I know that I CAN do everything from scratch, but really I'm lazy and take the semi-homemade route.

Ingredients:
8 oz cooked chicken, cut into bite size pieces
1 large can Veg-All mixed veggies, drained (or you can do frozen)
2 cans 98% FF Cream of Chicken Soup
8 oz FF Sour Cream
2 frozen deep dish pie shells (this is where I really should make from scratch, but eeehhhhhh)

Directions:
1-preheat oven to 400*
2-take pie shells out of plastic wrapper to thaw :D, turn one upside down on the wax paper divider. leave the other one right side up
3-mix soup, sour cream, veggies and chicken in bowl
4-pour all of soup mixture into right side up pie shell (once thawed, takes maybe 5 minutes). it will mound up over the top of the shell, don't worry about it!
5-take upside down shell and place over top of filled shell (it'll cave in a bit, but who cares? it's not to look pretty, it's to EAT!)
6-throw in preheated oven, bake for 25-30 minutes. I normally poke a few holes in top crust after 10 minutes to let steam escape. Soup mixture will bubble through the holes and pie crust will be nice and golden when done.
7-let rest for 5 minutes (if you can wait that long!)
8-eat up and say NNNUUUMMMMYYYYYYYYY!!!!
