Darlene ~ You're welcome. I hope you continue to get better.
Mern ~ Thanks for your encouragement. I'm working on gradually adding on to what I'm already doing. I'm thinking the present goals will need to be the same for a bit. ------------------------------------------------------- FIT Challenge -- 1/9/12 [Mon-Sat] Sun= "Cushion" Day *~* Check-in:M FOCUS (3) Faith */* Audio Bible daily ----> x1/x6 Support */* Attend Health Support Group -> */* Report here Daily ->x1/x7 INTAKE (3) Food */* Non-starchy Veg. 4 serv. daily ->N- */* Starchy Food 8 serv.daily limit->Y- Supplement */* Vit. & Fish Oil Daily ----->x1/x7 TRAIN (3) Feet */* STEPS wkly ~ 14 mi * 30,000 steps ->3.8 mi * 8100 steps */* AEROBIC wkly {120"} -> 40" Firm & Flex ~ */* Strong Women x2 wkly -> ---------------------------------------- Bad news - didn't meet 4 serv. (1 cup cooked Veg generally counts as 2 servings.) Well, I better save this post or else it vanishes! Good day to all! |
Health/Fitness Goals...
1. 100oz water a day M: Yes, 2. Limit of one diet Coke daily M: Yes, 3. Walk on lunch unless actually raining except Tuesday (work through lunch to go to an appointment)...who cares if it is cold out! M: 1.5m in 26min, T: N/A, 4. Listen to myself when I'm full. No eating just because I want more. M: Yes, 5. Workout 4 out of 5 days Weds-Sun 6. Weigh and post it every day M: 276.4, T: 273.2 7. Be very careful about eating after dinner, seems to be a problem lately. M: Yes, Life Goals ... 1. Keep hands busy in the evening. Do something other than facebook for a while. M: Yes, a. Mend the rest of hubby's work socks. M: No, 2. Do handwashing. M: No, Hmmm.... did all of your scales gang up on mine? Yesterday I had a hard time believing that it really said 276.4 but it bounced anywhere from there down to 270.2. But it read closer to the 276.4 more often so that is what I recorded. I do not however believe that one day of eating really well and taking a walk on lunch helped me lose 3.2lbs in one day. I had to have some left over TOTM water and my scale must have just been off yesterday. I will take it though since today's reading is lower than last Monday's reading. Sometimes I just hate the scale. Yesterday was an all over good day. I found some little projects to keep the hands busy. I have about 10-12 little cross stitch projects that have little wooden frames that have to be painted. So I did almost a whole one of the stitchings last night. Just need to outline it next and then I'll set it to the side and do the next one. I need to make a stop at the new craft store that opened yesterday to check it out anyway so I see buying some paint in my future. Maybe if I stick with it they will be done by Christmas 2012! LOL The only thing that I ate after dinner last night was a Nutrigrain bar (could have been something better but not my worst ever decision) and both halves of a sugar free popsicle. I just have to keep my resolve about this. I will do better than I have been doing lately. Mern ... We are a lot the same about expecting the best out of people. I don't expect more than they can give but I do expect them to try their best. ... I have a big weakness for stuffing. Hubby made stove top as a side last night and I have a tendency to snitch bites while cleaning up the stove to do the dishes. So last night there were leftovers in the pan and I took the leftover peas & carrots and dumped over them so that I wouldn't be tempted. ... Look at you go with your meals all planned out for the whole day. I don't do the evening cooking during the week in our house so sometimes I have to be really careful of portions and still eat what isn't so healthy.... You have an awesome day planned out with your shopping then hitting up the Y! Kay ... Welcome! I don't think I have met you before but you have a nice set of goals and congrats on being down 3lbs already! Tori ... LOL @ work guys living like pigs! Most of them probably have a wife that picks up after them. ... Good for you on those 4lbs! I bet if you clean out your car & fridge you lose about 25 more lbs! LOL Joanna ... Good luck with your pump. I have a friend here at work who has had hers since teen years and it works really well for her. ... Sorry to hear your elbow hurts. Beth ... That is quite a list! Can't wait to see how much green you fill it in with. Mary ... Welcome back! You are right! This will be a GREAT year! zahut ... Great goals. I love that you joined a weight challenge. That is what got me started on this lifestyle last year and soon I am hoping they start another one to hopefully give me a boost. Mike ... Sorry your game was a disappointment but I bet the fun & friendship was worth it. Well....almost. Cassie ... Congrats on your son's first semester of HS! Mine did fairly well too. Amy ... You had an awesome Monday! That's how to keep the energy up! ... What are these holiday letters you say about writing? I noticed it at Christmas and again for Valentines? Pam .. I hope you get your BP in check. That isn't something that you really want to play with too much. Darlene .. I hope you slept last night. You need lots of sleep to get ready for that interview. Hope you let us know how it goes for you. And those food choices (like others said) weren't all that bad. Luv .. I love it when you find out you were calculating something wrong to your benefit!! |
Well, I wound up having to do my 2 mile aerobic walking DVD instead of going to the gym because a FedEx package for which someone must sign is out for delivery and DH has to run an errand across town. Glad I tracked the package before leaving the house or else it would have been returned to the depot for attempted delivery tomorrow.
zahut, welcome to our group! :) As you can see in my signature, I started out at 246. I long for the day that I can be under 200 lbs. again. I have such a huge, saggy belly that even when I reach 150 lbs. I will not be taking photos of myself in a sports bra and shorts. My doc told me since I've lost so much elasticity with age and gravity has taken its toll, it's eventually going to look even worse--BUT I'll be much healthier, so I'm OK with that. I'm not pro tummy-tuck for myself. Wish I'd done like you and taken care of my body when I was your age, but I do give myself credit for having lost 32 lbs. so far through a lot of hard work. Congrats on joining the Pounds Plunge--glad to know that's it's approved by your local hospital so it's not advocating an unhealthy crash diet. I also see you're willing to put in some hard work to reach your goal. Kudos on that! :) Amy, I'll have my breakfast chore resistant grandson deliver a chocolate mocha flaxmeal muffin to you in person when I FedEx him to you. How's that? Tori, my scale told me I gained a whole pound (after MY stellar Monday, too) because of YOUR lack of Dew. See, I told you it lies! LOL Have a great day at work. fit4luv, you're doing a great job! Nothing wrong with sticking to more simple goals for a while. I used to have additional goals of limiting my cheese and soda pop and was able to conquer both of those addictions and drop them from my list of daily goals. Now I'm 99% certain I've conquered my addictions to and over-consumption of artificial sweetener and sugar free chocolate miniatures. If I go one more week, I'll drop them from my daily list, too--because my artificial sweetener and chocolate control is just a matter of stopping after two. April! Congrats on your weight loss! Wish I could steal some of that from YOUR scale. LOL My scale bounces around anywhere from 1/2 to 3 pounds in three weigh-ins one right after the other. To err on the conservative side, I always go by the highest one. I think excess water weight looks the same on people as fat weight, so losing water weight is just as wonderful. :) But I'm sure you've got fat loss in there as well because you've been working hard. Kudos on only the Nutrigrain bar and sugar free popsicle last night. That's real progress! Enjoy your cross stitching and new craft store. :) I'm with you on expecting people to just try their best. LOL-I love both peas and carrots, so it wouldn't have spoiled the Stove Top for me very much. I do so much better on meeting my goals if I can plan out my meals for the day. If my DH were doing the cooking I wouldn't have as many healthful choices, either. He'd cook like his mother used to--a meal full of starch. She'd serve mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, macaroni and cheese, lima beans all in one meal--once in a while green beans or cabbage, but those are the only green veggies I can ever remember her cooking. But she was reared in the mountains of Kentucky, and that's how they learned to eat--all those carbs and lots of animal fat for energy. |
I like the list of Motivators. I need to think of some of my own to create on a monthly basis. I have a reunion in September -- would be nice to be close to the weight I was 45 years ago when we graduated from nursing school. WoW I must be old!!! Don't know where the 45 years went. Wanting to be healthy as a senior is good motivation. Mary
|
Mary, I weighed about 114 when I was 20. I'll never see that again. I'll be thrilled with 150. I totally agree that wanting to be healthy as a senior is good motivation--plus a wonderful ultimate goal for me

My goals:
1) Lose 2 pounds this week (the one I gained and one more) -lost one already 2) stretch every day -Yes 3) gym or walk 3x this week -No 4) avoid sleep aids- Yes and boy I could have used it! 5) avoid pain pills- Yes 6) back away from the child while still somehow being supportive:Yes but I kep getting sucked back in 7) be nicer to DH; he deserves it : Yes 8) deal with medical stuff: called about stress test, mammogram, dentist, fibro and started new meds, is that enough ya think? Not enough time to read all posts and respond decently. Just want to say Kay in Pa, I like "stop beating msyelf up over weight gained in 2011." Amen to that. And to not beating oursleves up over anything we do. And Tori, I bought my DD a shirt in Georgia that had the security tag still on it and brought it back up north! Luckily it was Kohls but when I found the shirt, I didn't have the receipt, then found the receipt and didn't have the shirt. Took a long time but I got it together! Story of my life? I hope! That'll be on my tombstone: she finally got it together and now look where she is!!! Just kidding!!!! Thanks for the welcoming and supportive comments and for appreciating my Clint routine. You know what 's coming, right? You guys "made my day." (as in Go `head, make my...) Oh no she didn't! Oh and Mern, send muffin and almond coffee. STAT!!! |
Morning all,
Lovely to read everyone's posts this morning, the good, the frustrating, the amusing. Thanks all for wishing me progress on the BP front. You are all right in that it is not something I should be ignoring. On the BP front: Several years ago my doc put me on meds. We went from the 1st line - diuretics which worked for a while then my body adapted (pretty common, so I understand), then we did the ACE inhibitors that worked like a charm until I developed the dry cough thingy that is one of the side effects. After that, daily monitoring indicated that BP was under control so we agreed to drop meds. Like Mern and others I really would prefer not to be on meds (but I am not militant about it) My BP issues are mostly hereditary - both parents. Over the years I have found that there are several things that really impact the measurement, however. Running (but not lifting or yoga) is probably the most important. When I am in a full on training schedule it tends to be almost too low. My body weight also had a big impact (and I think this is where I got a little cross threaded). Once I lost the 35lbs, BP was all good, no matter what I did. Now, I think it has caught back up to me. My work and lifestyle is really pretty low stress (stress is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but I tend to be a pretty mellow person). The other thing that can elevate BP for me is long term use of NSAIDs (ie ibuprophen) and since I start lifting, ibuprophen has become almost as daily as my vitamin and fish oil . And finally alcohol. I think one of the reasons BP was so good, as and after, I lost the weight is that alcohol was really restricted - 1 or 2 over the weekend. So, Pamela... can you find the lesson here? ;) Anyway, I will keep the monitoring on my goals list, and if things don't improve by Feb, I'll revisit the meds issue with my doc. OK, off for my run. Beautiful day in the Eastern Sierras, if a little chilly. Then back to SoCal this afternoon. |

Welcome newbies and returning members.
Super busy so just a quick check in to post my goals. My goals will be for 6 days since I'm joining late. Health and Fitness: 1) drop 3 pounds (starting 183.2) 2) 4 serving of fruit/ veggies 3) -3000 calories 4) walk 6 miles 5) workout 3 times Other: 6) write 2 policies |
I'm in...
...my facebook group is doing an Atkins Induction "Do-Over" event this month. So far, so good...most of us are losing--and those that aren't are still seeing health benefits (more energy, better blood glucose numbers). I did have an Atkins Endulge Chocolate Coconut bar today (that I wouldn't have done if I had seen this thread first). LOL But, other than that, I'm sticking to my goals.

Oh too funny :D |
Mern I hope your headache has passes. My hubby calls it center of the world disease it starts around 15 and seems to fade in the mid 20’s your gd and my dd both had symptoms yesterday it seems, lol. Both my hubby and dd are very verbal people when they do chores so I am an expert at blocking it out it makes me laugh sometimes when all you hear is why don’t the kids rinse their bowls, why does dad leave popcorn in machine and expect me to clean it:rolleyes: Good job on your 2 miles, I am off to hike.
Amy Good day yesterday! Who are you writing valentine’s day letters for? Well I guess I ate 50% well yesterday then thanks for the understanding. Joanna I love karaoke are you a singer or just a spectator, I love to watch brave people sing I am not so brave nor can I sing. Great news about the insulin pump will this make controlling your diabetes a lot easier? Zahut Your goals for the week sound great I hope you have a successful day. Fit4luv Good job on your fiber, I take benefiber in my protein shake as I really need to be above 30g a day and I find that hard with just food since I don’t eat a lot of grains, do you get yours from just food or are you supplementing also? April I think it’s just a bad scale day either that or Nyquil has 1000 calories a serving as I am up 2lbs this morning.:( I like your goal number 4 I find when I am sick I feel like I deserve treats I probably can blame my mother for this one hmm wonder if Cassie has a free couch, lol. Oh my late for his own funeral! Hope :D Pam My bp is hereditary and it doesn’t matter what lifestyle changes I make it doesn’t change it enough to take me out of the risk categories but the med’s my dr has me on right now are very mild and seem to have little long term side effects so when you see your dr ask lots of questions and make him give you options you can research Mike have a good day:) I feel weak and still really drained but I am going to go hike well maybe walk but at least I am up and trying to be motivated. I hope you all have a good morning I will be back soon. . |

He was the type who was into everything. Refereeing softball & basketball, a plow truck driver for the state (construction in the summer). All around a great guy who spread himself way too thin and possibly died early because of it. My mom was always in the late to everything crowd. My hubby is the polar opposite. We are always early! |

I'm writing a St. Valentine's Day letter, because I was a complete slacker and didn't get my Christmas cards out (not so much a slacker as over-booked). Which is a very noticeable thing to those who receive them. Not that we're terribly noteworthy or famous, but I've sent them out like clockwork since we were married and included therein is an hilarious Christmas letter, usually 2-3 pages long, full of funny stories, anecdotes, accomplishments, failures, etc. Anyway I spend the whole year having people tell me they laughed until they cried and had to call so and so to read it to them, and how they never want to be left off my Christmas card list etc etc. It's usually a task that I really enjoy, although it's a struggle time-wise to get it written and mailed out in December. The last few years I've ended the letter threatening to send out Valentines the following year because December is just too damned full of everything else. Well last year I wasn't joking, apparently. I hope people get a good chuckle out of it. In the back of my mind I must have known that I was going to need an out this year, you see I always buy my Christmas cards deep discount the week after Christmas. The ones I bought last year are red and glittery and will hold a picture, on the inside they say "Joy", that's it, so I'm going to use my "Be Mine" stamp and fix 'em up, toss in a picture of the kiddos and send some love out via snail mail.

Darlene ~ I got the fiber from what I ate. Right now my challenge is to eat the right amounts! When I track, I decided to not add in any supplements, just to see what I get by food/drink. I naturally don't go for the fiber foods.:p Hopefully, I'll change my tendency as time goes on.

Ladies, I'm in a funk and just hope I can make some progress this week. Without boring y'all with details (for once) lets just say that I've had a lot going on and feel mentally drained. My diet hasn't been good today, because I haven't eaten hardly anything. Damn I know I'm going to sound like one of y'all crazy women but I feel stressed, depressed and edgy. I think I'm going to get some food and try to force myself to go to the gym. I feel like going to bed though.

I hear you, and sorry you're in a funk. Do something good for you that also makes you feel good. One thing at a time. |
Thanks Cassie. I keep telling myself that but...
Part of not wanting to go to the gym is probably b/c I'm low on food and energy. I just want to get out this damn funk. I hope today I don't have a black cloud over my head. |

I'm having a horrible day also. I'm out of calories already and I need to exercise tonight. I will if you will :). |
Struggled a little today. I hurt all over, the weather is turning here. It was 50 degrees F today, which for a January in Michigan is NUTS! But given the way I'm hurting all over we're def in a high pressure system, which mean probably snow or rain, and plenty of it, later this week. The worst part is that I've passed this walking barometer gene on to all the kids and they are soooo cranky it's not even funny. They are at each others throats for no apparent reason.
I was also hungry all freaking day, but I hung on to the plan by my fingernails. Tomorrow should be better I have to run errands all day, so the opportunity to snack will be non-existent. Mern, so long as the boy arrives with the muffin intact, he's welcome to stay, one more at this point will only impact the grocery bill marginally at worst. He'll be on the hook to help get himself breakfast here too, and I still have a high chair in my kitchen to threaten him with. Good luck tomorrow. April, when I was a kid we were always a little late to everything, and being the only member of the family that was socially required to sport enormous hair in public, I always took the heat for us being tardy. But guess what? I found out in college that it wasn't me, okay yes occasionally I run late, but it's not the rule, it's the exception. My parents and brothers however run late on a regular basis. I'm more of a JIT person, not early, not late, just in time, slide in sideways. I always seem to catch whatever bug you guys are passing around, so I'm just saying right now, keep hold of your scale voodoo, it's not welcome here in my house. I have a WW scale, bought it maybe 3 years ago, $30-40ish at Wal-Mart, love it. It always weighs me at one number and wobbles around a little, then picks a higher number and no matter how many times I step on it after that, it goes straight to the higher number. Speaking of crud getting passed around, how are you Darlene? Any relief from the nasty bug you've got? I'm sending you a little cyber-chicken soup eh. Mern, your buses sound polar opposite to ours. We live 6 blocks from the school, which is too close for the bus, in fact any child within a 2 mi radius from the school is a walker. The problem for us is that the kids have to cross 2 very busy roads to get to school. There are crossing guards at both of those spots, but even still, it's downright dangerous in the dark. Eldest DD has to be at her safety post at 7:30am, and right now it's almost pitch black out at that time, so I end up driving them most days. Once the daylight gets a little longer she'll be out riding her bike to school again. I'll still have to take the youngest. She's in Kindergarten, but somehow she's very slow on her bike. It would take her forever to ride her bike to school. |

Thanks for the welcome! I just finished doing one of my homework assignments for the week. I got up a couple times and went to the fridge out of habit, but managed to get through it with only a stick of sugarless gum. Plan to get in a brief workout still this evening, so I'd better get off the computer.

Mike, aw, sweetie, so sorry you're in that funk--stressed, depressed, and edgy. I know this is something you want to deal with yourself. Just know we're sending you lots of cyberhugs. I hope a good sleep will make you feel more rested and ready to face your challenges ahead tomorrow.
Hope, congrats on the pound lost and on all your other admirable accomplishments! Hope and Amy, lol on the muffins. Fix my GS's breakfast problem and I'll send ou a dozen more. Aw, I think Amy wants a son really bad. OK, sending one for her and one for the 7 year old son to eat on his way from Ohio. LOL April, did you know that Liz Taylor deliberately left instructions for the funeral director to be 15 minutes late bringing her body to the funeral--because she was always late and people often joked she'd be late to her own funeral. She had a great sense of humor. :) Yeah, I can't quite put my finger on it, though. Is the width of the forum a little different and more compact? Whatever it is, I like it way better. Pam, thanks for going into more detail with your BP issue. Wow, it is more complicated than I thought. My DH was so lucky to have been able to lower his with diet alone, losing weight, and bumping up exercise. Keep us posted how that's going and what the doc recommends. Darlene, your husband must know her personally. I've told my GD many times, "I love you dearly, but you have to learn that my entire world does not revolve around you." Ooh, that hit home, sometimes I do that myself--gripe as I'm doing chores, but even though I know who made the extra work for me, I say "whoever" did such and such a thing should be more considerate. But the guilty party never admits to it and things never change. LOL Thanks for your congrats on my 2 miles. How was our hike? Did it make you feel better or even more weak? That's great that your bp meds are so mild and have few long term side effects. :) Mike, wonderful, simple goals. Best wishes. We know you can do it. Volleyballgranny, hi and welcome. I'm a big fan of low carb as is my doc. I brought my blood sugar down from pre-diabetic to normal on low carb and my husband brought his blood pressure down to normal on it. Congrats on sticking to your goals! :) |
Amy: I love the idea of Valentine's Day cards. The few years that I did send them I got a lot of positive feedback. They chase away the February doldrums.
Mern: I like your idea about eating treats moderately. Sometimes I can pull it off and sometimes they trigger sugar cravings. Definitely an area I could use improvement in! I just figured since we were on the No More Excuses program, I'd get a little strict with myself. I don't believe in doing strict all the time-in fact I think it's unhealthy and can lead to eating disorders. My aim is to hit my goal and then relax a little. As long as I'm logging on Fitday, I never get off for very long. Steph (27) and Dana (31) are 2 of my 4 kids. The other two are Michelle (17) and Brent (29). Thanks for asking. Sounds like my Tuesday Funk hit everyone else but me....SORRY GUYS!!!
I on the other hand have had a great day...I know, right? Tori having a good Tuesday? Wonders never cease. I hit a small snag around 10 this morning, but got through it pretty well. Did some neck rolls to work out some of the stress and then a couple of my drivers had me laughing out the rest of the stress. One driver made the comment that coming to my store was like going to recess, we always had a lot of fun and recess was always his favorite "class". So that made me smile. And then later in the day I had one salesman ask exactly how many pounds I had lost cause I was "really starting to look good." So WOOHOO!!! I guess it's paying off. If he thinks I'm starting to look good now, give me another 70 lbs and then I'm gonna have to start fighting them off ;) Cassie and Mike--Big pats on the back to both of you, hope the funk works out quickly. Everyone else--hope Tuesday has been good for y'all. Will check back in later with goal updates, for now I'm gonna veg a little in front of the tv...Biggest Loser is on and it's been my Can't Miss Show for a few years. It's my weekly SobFest. After that I'm gonna get a work out in |
Kay in PA! Way to go on breaking a habit like that!
Oh, geez, Amy--all the kids are cranky and at each other's throats at the same time! Run away! Run far, far away...... Big hug to ya. My grandson is not a big eater. He has three sisters at home so he knows how to drive girls even more nuts than they already are. LOL I'll let you know tomorrow whether he did well at breakfast or if I've taken him to the FedEx depot. Maybe I didn't explain that right--your bus situation and ours sound a lot alike to me. When the school levies pass, ALL our kids have busses. Right now there is no high school bussing at all, and only kids in grades K-5 who live more than 2 miles from school have busses. Our community was semi-rural when DH and I moved here in 1973 and there are no sidewalks. The elementary school kids who have to walk have to walk up a fairly steep hill. I don't know how they'll make it when it's snowy beause there is no place to walk except in the street. The two lane street dead-ends into the school lot, so there's no alternative route and traffic going both ways. Our middle school and high school start classes at 7:15AM (dark in the winter as in Michigan) and those buildings are on the same campus--on a busy street--no sidewalks there, either. I think it should be illegal for the school board to deny the kids the safety of bussing. |
Going to bed early--I just know I'll wake up around 3AM since my brain only allows me to sleep 5 hours except if I'm sick or physically exhausted, but I can hardly keep my eyes open. Ok, yeah, that was a big boohoo, wasn't it? Aw, I'll be OK--I'm way better off than most of you.

Mike & Cassie I hope you broke out of the funk you were both feeling. Great job on plugging away at your goals even when you feel crappy.
Amy Thanks for the cyber soup.:) I am hanging in I just got back from my interview which I think went well. I have a meeting at 8 at the church and I am leading it so I can’t even excuse myself but hubby says the longer I sit here on the couch the sicker I look so hopefully they will all take pity on me or not want to catch what I have and it will be a short efficient meeting. Mern Lol at the verbal cleaning style. My hike was good it took us about 10min longer than normal the two big hills slowed me down because I can’t breathe through my nose but it gave me a little more energy for my interview then laying around in bed would have. Tori Glad your day got better, enjoy the compliment it’s nice when people notice your hard work. I am off to my meeting here’s hoping it’s a short one I am so ready for bed. Have a great evening.:) |
Thanks ladies. I did get the funk out at the gym. :)

AAANNNNDDDDDDDDD only 1, count 'em one Diet Dew., I'm working on it...... 3--exercise at least 4 times--I've GOT to nail this one this week. I start out the week so good and then the latter part rolls around and I get tired. BUT NO EXCUSES THIS WEEK!!~~you better believe it!, getting ready to get my late night burn on 4--shooting for at least a 2 lb loss--starting weight Monday morning~222.8:cool:~~Didn't weigh, UUUGGGHHH up 0.6 lbs..hopefully it'll work back out by the end of the week Life/Home 1--clean out car--UGH it's driving me insane!!~~planned for Wednesday, barring rain....weather report is calling for storms...yyyaaayyy 2--keep up to date on paperwork~~Having taken Saturday off, I'm only behind by one day....can make that up tomorrow--BOOYAA!! all caught up, and then some 3--go BACK to store and get them to take the security device off new sweater~~Wednesday, as long as I don't have to start building an ark 4--clean out refridgerator--it's not pretty in there:o~~maybe tomorrow???---at least there's not anything growing in there Tuesday went well, FINALLY!! I have so much to do tomorrow, but seeing as how most of it involves going out of the house, I may not get a lot done with the weather they're predicting. I really need to get back to the store and get the tag removed from the sweater, and I really really need to clean out the car....I guess I'll have to settle on cleaning out the fridge. I also want to go by Anytime Fitness and check their rates. It's really close to the house, and I have a free pass for 2 weeks, so I need to at least check it out. Anybody know anything about them??? To my Funk-dafied friends, hope all is well come morning...everyone else, have a great night. |
Thanks for the well wishes, guys. Today is almost over and I am ready to put it to bed and start fresh in the morning.
Mike, how are you doing? Anything this cadre of chatty ladies can help you with? Darlene, did you make it through your meeting? My hat is off to you, hiking today. Feel better soon. Tori, I'm glad you had a great day. I'm getting some energy from your posts...good luck with all your chores and stuff tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the gym...let us know. Hope, how are things with DD these days? Beth, how are those grandbabies in CO? I remember when the little one was born..time flies! I do share your philosophy about being strict; I think that may have been my problem getting back on the wagon. I kept trying for 1200 cals with all these rules and regulations and essentially sabotaged myself. I'm working on being strict enough to recover from a string of holidays but not so strict I rebound. Glad you brought it up. Kay, proud of you for tonight! Congrats! Mern, thanks for your posts. Whenever I read one of yours, I either feel like I've gotten a hug, been to meet with a professor, or watched a stand-up comic. And no matter which it is, it's always the one I need the most :). Joanna, here's hoping positive results come from your insulin pump! Hope you enjoyed your indulgence; nice work keeping it in the calorie range. Good luck with the tennis elbow; I have that, too. PT exercises and a cortisone shot helped a lot, and also a band to wear around the forearm that takes the pressure off the nerve. April, congrats on reining in the after dinner eating. That's tough for me as well, and I agree that a bar was minimal damage. Pam, how's the conference? Luv, you're just chugging along...I know you'll hit your goals. Nice job, lady! I am sorry if I missed anyone. It was a wicked long day that started with a search that was just shy of the strip variety at the detention center today and continued with developments about as much fun. I did hit the stationary bike and I had a cucumber for my snack, salvaging my calorie goal (yes, I know 50-100 extra wouldn't've killed me, but it became the principle of the thing). Wishing you all a good night and good scale mojo in the morning! 1. 1350 calorie limit daily. 1196, 1348 no lie 2. Limit processed foods. Yes, Yes 3. 2 sports bottles of water...don't count tea, flavored water, etc. Yes, Yes 4. Exercise 6 times. One, Two 5. Log everything (even the small stuff: cough drops, vitamins...). Yes, Yes 6. Do at least one journal entry in FD daily. Yes, Yes 7. Take all vitamins and supplements. Yes, Yes 8. No treats passing as snacks (see above). None, Homemade granola bar Something wonderful: I was so busy trying to crank out reports, emails, and faxes tonight that the guys cleaned up the kitchen and the house without being asked :D. |
