15 in 15 Easter Goal, anyone want to try?

Hi everyone, there are 15 weeks until Easter. Anyone want to join me in trying to lose 15 pounds between now and Western Christian Easter?

Keep track of it yourselves, choose your day to weigh in... I am giving myself a little wiggle room with this last week of the year to get everything in line.

Crimpet 12-22-2011 10:36 AM

I'm In!! It sounds like a good goal, and I'm in need of a challenge to push me back on the wagon. I need to weigh myself to know my exact start weight so I'll do that first thing in the AM at work and post my start weight here. :D

emjinla 12-22-2011 01:01 PM

Me! I want to lose 20 by 4/1 :)

frenchhen3 12-26-2011 01:07 PM

Okay it's the three of us! keeping us all accountable to one another! Thanks for lending a hand to me in my goal. We can do this!

daniliebe 12-27-2011 04:51 AM

Count me in! I'll weigh in on the 1st.

edahlt 12-27-2011 02:32 PM

I'm in, too!
My "ultimate" goal is actually 25 lbs (from 140) by March 22nd--so two weeks BEFORE Easter, but I figure the I can stick with you guys until then--and, hey, there's a pretty good chance I'll have to extend my time frame anyway. Hope you don't mind!

frenchhen3 12-28-2011 05:23 AM

Come on in! I weighed today at the gym... 138.2. I worked out like a fiend in the water and plan on walking later today. Torre, keep your 25 pound goal and stay in, if you get there you will motivate me. We are the same height and just about starting on the same poundage.

Dani, welcome aboard!

kal223 12-28-2011 05:58 AM

Can I be in, too?

15 feels like it is setting my goals pretty high, but that's the best way to start, right???

anderson02 12-28-2011 07:50 AM

That sounds like a great goal! Looks like maybe 14 weeks if we start on January 1st but close enough! :D I started logging food again today anyway so might as well set a goal.

Good Luck Everyone!!

edahlt 12-28-2011 09:24 AM

Weighed in this morning--137 after a less-than-stellar weekend, habit-wise. :D

Frenchhen--that's awesome that our starting stats are so similar.

Kal--I think it's always good to have a nice high goal--even if you don't quite make it, it'll still force you to work your hardest. Best of luck to you (and everyone else).

frenchhen3 12-28-2011 10:44 AM

Of course! The more the merrier! I started this thread on the 22nd... so at the time it was 15 weeks. I better hope for a pound down tomorrow morning! Walked the neighborhood today, met a new friend, so happy!

Kal- I have been losing weight for a good year, and most weeks I am lucky to lose a half of a pound. Thanks to Fitday and seeing it graphed it keeps me motivated, and a pound a week is a HUGE goal for me too. Something I need all your help keeping me accountable. If I am doing it for me and for us it will keep me going!

That on top of the gym earlier? -sigh- I guess I really have no excuse not to get my butt to the gym, then. I was thinking of letting myself slide as a walked a bit over five and a half miles earlier, but with the goal time frame I guess I really have no room to slack.
Out it is! Best of luck to all of you, as well.

kal223 12-28-2011 01:55 PM

thanks for the encouragement, ladies! I'm looking forward to the challenge and supporting eachother!!

wildbeanerz 12-29-2011 01:23 AM

I think I am going to join this one. I will update my sign when my New Years goal is out on Monday. This feels more do-able for me than the 10% goals considering my current weight.

I will be starting on 1/2 since my official weigh days are Mondays and I will end the day after Easter 4/9.

frenchhen3 12-29-2011 09:15 AM

Yup Torre, just the fact that I got out there and walked was good. just 2.5 miles no biggie... 42 minutes, about the time it takes for my clothes to dry in the dryer.

April- So glad you joined! I've enjoyed reading your posts on other threads! percent goals throw me too... I can't wrap my head around them.

My weigh in today wasn't what I had hoped for, 139.5 so I actually GAINED. No fear, I will be strong and steadfast. I will get it off by next week. :) Now I have to go drink water and fold my laundry. PS I got a new clothesline for christmas! I am super excited! They help work your arms and upper body when you are hanging the clothes!

kal223 12-29-2011 11:12 AM

I love our clothesline! We actually have an Amish style one - nothing better than line-dried sheets! We had some snow today here, though, so nothing on the line.

I used my new trekking poles on a hike today, and bought a rowing machine (brand new, for $25 on craigslist!) so now I have to go figure out how to use it. :)

You will TOTALLY get that pound or so off. Chances are it's just water weight anyway, so, hey, you'll probably get to see a bigger-than-average loss next time. :D

Officially weighed in today: 136! So 1.5 down from last week, and 4 down total. (Also, 4 down from this Monday. The holidays were not my friends.)
Even more exciting for me, though? 3/4 of an inch off my waist! Woo hoo!

Best of luck to everyone else--hoping to hear good reports from all of you soon!

LMB2011 12-30-2011 09:04 AM

I'm in! 15 lbs in 15 weeks sounds like a goal I can reach. I will start today! Starting weight 309.3 (12-30-11) Can anyone recomend any good in home work out Cd's to try? I've been doing ok with just using the wii fit daily for 30 min. a day. Those of you that go walking everyday no matter what the weather is like, are my inspiration.

maryjhop 12-31-2011 08:01 AM

Ready to lose big.

I'm in as well. I would love to lose 2lbs a week untill then. This would be an ambitious goal of 26 lbs. Currently I am 5'7'' weighing in at 163 lbs on 12/31/11. I have a husband with a six pack, I thinks he deserves for me to try a little. I work >100hrs a wk and so I've been slipping, but no more excuses!!!

goal 01/07/11 - 161
goal 01/21/11 - 157
goal 02/04/11 - 153
goal 02/18/11 - 149
goal 03/03/11 - 145
goal 03/17/11 - 141
goal 03/31/11 - 138
goal 04/08/11 - 137

Rubystars 12-31-2011 06:18 PM

I think I'm going to hold off on these kinds of challenges until the weather gets warmer again. I've been losing, but slower than in the summer because I have been eating more calories when it's cold.

daniliebe 01-01-2012 02:13 AM

Happy New Year everyone! I'm weighing in today at 158. I'm excited about this challenge and feel like it is a realistic goal. I'm aiming to lose two pounds this week and then a pound a week until Easter.

frenchhen3 01-01-2012 03:57 AM

I'm so glad to see all the inspiration out here! Today is January 1st. I have logged in and tracked my food so far. yay! I WILL walk today!

Does anyone know how to make the Google public document spreadsheet? Maybe we can make a chart with our names and weeks?

msclark40 01-01-2012 01:27 PM

I'd like to get in on this also. :)

Starting weight 175.

Mindy

Okay I tried to make a spreadsheet... if you copy the above link and go to, I think you can enter your info. if you are just getting on board this week, or last week just start at week 2. This is sort of public, so if you want to use a nickname that is fine with me.

42gees 01-01-2012 03:01 PM

Me too! :D

Hello!
I am new to this site :D
I would LOVE to try the 15 in 15 Easter Goal!!
After having my daughters (2008 and 2011) the weight has just clung on. As crazy as it sounds I have over 13 pairs of jeans/pants that I fit into before getting pregnant with daughter #1 in 2008.
It is time to get healthy and active 4 my 2 gees.

Hello!
I just purchased Jillian Michaels 30 day shred dvd. It works in phases: 1 (easiest) to 3 (most difficult). I am working on #1. I like it because it's for sure a workout, but it only lasts 20 min. So I can do it and think "it's only 20 min, it's only 20 min....." and no crazy dance moves and such (I have a hard time following those dvds).
Anyhow...if you are interested I purchased it at Target. :)

If you have Itunes loaded on your computer, look up a show called FIT FOR DUTY. It airs on the Pentagon channel. They have all sorts of workouts, Pilates, aerobics, Yoga... I am always challenged and never bored with what they offer, and, it is free.

I'll hop in! My first goal is 10 pounds in 11 weeks (March 14), so if I go over I'll be on track for Easter. Otherwise it's a nice motivator. I'll weigh in as soon as I replace the battery in my scale!

luvstorunn 01-02-2012 02:36 PM

I want to join! I like the idea of knowing someone out there has my goal. I weighed in this morning and I was 184.2. My over-all goal is 30-35 lbs, so this is a good starter :) Looking forward to getting to know a few new people for motivation.

Okay I think I have the spreadsheet going. Link and bookmark the above link so you can correct any mistakes I have made and begin inputting your weights as the weeks progress. If you stated your weight, I typed it in. If I made a mistake, I am sorry. I think I got everyone on there. Feel free to make changes if you like, I just did a very basic spreadsheet.

wildbeanerz 01-03-2012 04:03 AM

I am in. After the weekend and mother nature (UGH!) I am starting this challenge at 274.0. That is what I weigh today. I am going to update my signature with the new weight and goals. I hate to change my weight in that direction but I have to.

Newjen2012 01-03-2012 06:13 AM

Im in!!! :-) xxx

Wanda51 01-03-2012 08:32 AM

Count me in!!!! That seems like something that will really get me started for the spring. :)

kal223 01-04-2012 02:27 PM

thanks for the spreadsheet! are we in week 2 now? If I use this Friday as a weigh-in day, and enter that in week two - hopefully I won't screw anything up?! ;)

frenchhen3 01-05-2012 01:35 AM

Start where ever you'd like. It's pretty flexible. :) Glad you can join!

wildbeanerz 01-05-2012 01:41 AM

I can't seem to update my weights in the google spreadsheet. Maybe a security setting at work or something.

Week 2: 308.9 (-0.4lbs) almost half a lb beats not losing anything/graining :)
This year I'm takening classes in nutrion for me. I "WILL" be the one my family and friends look at and say, "Wow, look at you, you look good! What have you been doing?" Weight wise I'm the heaviest.

Thank you for taking time to make a spreadsheet for us all to use and keep track. It will be fun to see how everyone does. It's also a great tool for support.
