1) Record everything and keep daily calories under 1600: Yes!
2) Eat more protein and fewer carbs: Not so much, but made a good grocery list of things to get tomorrow
3) No skipping meals because of being busy: I actually wasn't even busy, which is even better
4) Walk everyday: Too short, but at least some
5) Sew/knit/something creative everyday: Yes

Mhibdon, although I understand the idea of not wanting to be dependant on anything, you can't just leave for a whole week! On another topic. do you enjoy cooking? Because if you do its just a matter of trying new things out, there are good websites with recipes around.

Julie, welcome to a new week!

Anna1Louise, with only one trick or treater it is hard not to have that much candy left, congrats on the biking.

Mern, missed you last week hope everyone is doing better. Mike was picking fights with everyone just because you weren't around.

Joanna, congrats on the win, must have been exciting to watch. And yes its only Monday.

April, your weekend sounds lovely, congrats on the loss and too bad about the shoes I was very excited about them. Very nice pumpkin btw.

Darlene, as the BeeGees said you should be dancing... hope you get to do it soon. Good goals today!

Mike, you are quite the poet. Sorry about the food making you feel bad... tomorrow will be a brand new day with no fast food or bidding.

Ann, hope the cold gets better soon and you can adjust to your new schedule.

Nottheactress, weekends are hard but congrats on your award and enjoy your cooking. You are back on track now!

Cassie, glad you had a relaxed day today after such a productive weekend.

Quinn, your open house sounds fun. Hope you enjoyed it.

Rubypeanut, hope you are feeling better this week.

The cooking thing is the issue... I abhor it. Like... I'm all for the delayed/instant gratification of exercise, but cooking, and all the waiting and delicious smells associated with it, drives me up the wall! I prefer food I can leave on the george (chick breast) or put in the oven (sweet potatoes) and just walk away for 15mins to 2 hours at a time. Haha, I'll admit to being lazy when it comes to making food- Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa Maxima.

My plan: To implement all the things I know I should do instead of sliding back to old habits.

1. Drink water
2. Eat well
3. Exercise
4. Journal
5 Plan ahead

Happy Tuesday ladies and Mike. Sorry I was AWAL yesterday. Halloween was totally nuts, I literally finished the poodle skirt with about 20 minutes to spare before eldest DD had to change. I thought the school party was at 2:00pm, but DD's class went and trick or treated at a local nursing home at noon, so she needed her costume at 11:45, not 1:30. So you guessed it, good old mom was at the school for drop off at 7:30, again at 11:30 and as if that wasn't enough I had to go back at 1:30 to help middle DD get her costume on and stayed through until Safety Patrol pick-up at 3:45. Then I took 5 kids trick or treating to a few select houses so we could show off our costumes. At 5:00pm I dropped off my extra kids, whipped through McD's for dinner and then took the DD's out for more trick or treating, got home at 8:30pm just exhausted. One of the kids actually said, "I'm so tired, Halloween is fun but I'm glad it's over now". DH stayed home this year and passed out 3 whole candy bars, usually we get a few more than that.

This morning was a little brutal, but everybody managed to get to school on time, they all ate breakfast and nobody went in pajamas. So I call that a success. I didn't get my workout in, but hopefully tomorrow morning will see things back to normal, or what passes for normal around here.

Health & Fitness Goals

1. Calories 1,400 T-Th & Sun, 1,600 F&S.
2. Water 100oz.
3. Protein 25% or higher.
4. Calorie deficit 3,000.
5. Exercise 5 hours.

Other Stuff

1. Housework 1 hour daily (minimum) + 1 load of laundry (this place looks HORRIBLE, it's scarier than a haunted house!)
2. Deal with the flower pots on the back stoop.
3. Deal with the squash.
4. Plan out 4-H calendar.
5. Make appointments at orthodontist, call dentist office.

Well, the Open House was a big hit, but we won't talk about the damage it did to my diet. So, let's just count today as "Monday". The party was so much fun. I had kids from 18 days old to 86. (I had a plastic pumpkin ready for the newborn with a box of rice cereal and teething biscuits. lol) He was dressed as a little, furry puppy! SO cute!! I'm not left with a whole lot of food, which is fortunate for me. Thanks to COUPONING, I picked up two extra bags of Twix and Snickers for only 98 cents a bag, which are taunting me on the counter right now. Besides dinner, we went through 2 gallons of apple cider, 24 cups each of Chex Mix and Caramel Corn, 5 dozen sugar cookies... well, you get the idea. I couldn't even begin to figure out my calories for yesterday.

It was so worth it though. Daughter said that she wants to come home for Halloween from college next year, which meant a lot to me.

Another busy day... I'll be gone most of the day again today. Had a tragic cell phone mishap last night , so I am transferring phones and numbers, etc. today on top of everything else.

I'll try to catch up tonight... Have a wonderful day... and stay out of the candy!

Mike and April, your pumpkin carving skills are fabulous!!! I showed those pics to the kids and now they want me to make one. And I'm like ME? Um no can do. DH thought it was funny and offered to buy me an expensive pumpkin carving kit at Williams Sonoma, as if that's gonna help.

Quinn, that open house business sounds like so much fun, you're the bomb!!! The neighborhood just south of here goes all out, spooky music, every other house is haunted, one even had a live Monster band, hilarious. It's crazy, but it was cold enough that I kept wishing we'd find a house handing out hot cider, or a little cup of chili. But the closest thing was the cold, yet burnt, hot dogs at the funeral parlor.

Mike I cracked up at your poem. In spite of your pencil pusher type day job, you clearly have a creative side that needs outlet.

April, congrats on your lovely weekend, although I have to say that it sounded plenty busy enough that you almost can't label it "lazy". LOL, I have a feeling you and I are fundamentally similar, I'm spending today doing "nothing", and somehow the kitchen looks much much better....

Cassie and Mern, don't sweat an off the track weekend, it was Halloween after all. I'm choosing not to sweat mine. It was sooooo bad. We took the kids trick or treating on Friday night at DH's office. You've heard of speed dating right? Well this is like Speed Trick or Treating, only instead of going door to door the the candy is handed out every 8 feet on both sides of the aisle, and everybody is gainfully employed and working hard to outdo each other. The kids scored at least 6-7 full sized candy bars, and even worse there are approximately 300 employees and 2/3 of them give out candy, so a big fat bucket full EACH! On Saturday I didn't make breakfast or lunch, we just ate candy ! I was still not feeling all that well and nuts busy finishing this year's costumes, and the kids were busy decorating the house and carving pumpkins. And we followed the disaster eating with dinner at the Trunk or Treat my dad and his cronies put on every year, burnt hot dogs Lions Club style. I wasn't just being a bad mom, I was sort of hoping that they would eat a bunch of it so it doesn't linger around the house for quite so long as usual, and I was also hoping that sooner or later I would hear one of them say, "mom, I'm hungry for some real food" or "mom I'm sick of candy", but alas - I never did. Tough love isn't all it's cracked up to be.

mhibidon, I'm cracking up over you needing to find a use for a hot pink corset, um honey, the only thing a corset can be used for is to hoist your jugs up to a more advantageous position LOL. So do you have to be off fitday for your class assignment on addiction? If that's the case you should consider saying you have a food addiction instead, and use fitday printouts to demonstrate that you're controlling your addiction. I'm sort of addicted to fitday myself, although for different reasons. If you hate to stir the pot you might consider a crock pot, toss stuff in, walk away all day, come home eat food. It works really well for us, I don't mind cooking but my time is very limited.

Anna, I hear you on the left over candy. I have 6 unopened packages of full sized Hershey bars, and a handful of other assorted candy bars. I bought them thinking I was sending some to school, but DD grabbed the 2 bags of Twizzlers instead of the candy bars, and the other asked for carrot sticks!!! The nerve of some peoples' children! As long as the packages don't get opened and left in the drawer, I'll be okay. Can you take them into work?

Kumochi, good luck on implementing. I'm trying to do all that myself, but not only do I have to worry about old habits, I've discovered I'm not opposed to forming new bad habits!!!

Ann congrats on the new job!!! And good for you in recognizing that you need to work your healthy habits into your new life. It's rough I know, but you'll manage. How is DD adjusting to daycare?

bojibridge, no it's not Monday, it's Tuesday honey. That's okay, happens to me all the time.

Well I gotta go that Brownie meeting isn't going to run itself. Ugh.
