I hope that when I'm 65 I'll be as active as y'all.
grrr, the heat index is still 101*. I guess it's now or never. I guess I'll be going alone b/c it's just too damn hot to take Chloe'. Quinn are you going?

I haven't been checking in this week but my calories have been under my limit and pretty darn clean.
Glad to see everyone's doing so well! For those of you using ground turkey, watch your supply... there's a salmonella outbreak in 29 states.

Wednesday
1. Calorie deficit of 6000: 922, 710, 617 (2249) My math tells me I have to really have great deficits these next days... hmmm.
2. Drink 3 L of water: Yes, Yes, Yes
3. Stay away from baked goods: Yes, Yes, Yes (it was hard today)
So I am trying to improve my calorie deficit by logging less hours of sleep for tomorrow No seriously I need to go to bed soon or I will have to eat something. But then I could count it as Thursday food right?
I will catch up will you all later.

Sounds like most of you are having a great week, kudos to you - I'm very jealous. I'm really enjoying my time off from the kids, but I'm starting to miss them as well, and I'm not doing particularly great health and fitness wise. Yesterday we had no internet, so I spent the day waiting for the cable guy, did a tiny bit of cleaning and printed some awards for last night's (pot luck) swim club banquet. The oldest 2 are away at camp, but we took the youngest DD to the banquet anyway. We couldn't skip since I'm part of the coaching staff. I couldn't teach a kid to swim faster to save my life, but I've been fairly instrumental in building some team spirit (think obnoxious cheers and funny dance moves). I'm also the Head Marshal, which is an insane job, but the kids are really helpful so last night I made sure that everyone knew just how much I appreciate all their hard work.
Which begs the question, "Why are pot lucks so stinking hard?" The only semi healthy dishes at last night's banquet were my layered nacho salad, and a chopped up watermelon, everything else was a fat+sugar bomb. And when exactly did drive-thru become an acceptable dish to pass? Good grief! Seriously? When it comes to feeding kids, typically that group of parents is better than average as they are feeding pretty serious athletes, but you wouldn't have guessed that from last night's spread. Great heaping gobs of fat and calories Batman!

Quinn, congrats on your walk. I'm so jealous of your cooler weather. We're due for it next week, though--so they say. Congrats on the clean eating week. OMG, I have bought the Carghill/Cargill (can't remember the spelling) ground turkey in the past and just happened to buy Butterball this time around. I'll stick to the more expensive Butterball.
Joanna, congrats on a nice calorie deficit despite going over your 1600. You still won the day.
MAIN80, don't ya hate having to do all that math? I do, but it really does pay off. I didn't understand your question about whether to count snacking as Thursday food until I saw your post was 3:05AM Ohio time. Count it how you like, but my log starts with arising in the morning. I think it pretty much comes out as six of one, half dozen of the other...
Amy, glad Larry, the Cable Guy arrived! The kids are so lucky to have you coaching at the swim club. I don't know why banquets are that way, either, with the bad food. Our family reunion pot luck picnic is like that, too. It's all homemade carbs and fat plus KFC chicken and even take-out pizza and McDonald's chicken nuggets, except that usually someone does bring a fruit tray. One time someone brought a ham. I always take two healthful dishes that I can make a meal out of with the addition of low carb fruit, in case I can't find something else.

Amy, isn't it odd how moms desperately need ME time and then miss the kids terribly when they DO get it? I really missed my grandkids when they were on vacation for just 10 days. Was so glad the teenagers have cell phones so I could keep in touch. I hope you can find a way to really enjoy your ME time and get back on track at the same time. Big hug to ya--now see if you can go do something fun and "ME" today.
