100 lb club
I am interested in discussing the physical, social, mental and emotional aspects of moving towards letting go of 100 lbs or more. It's a huge change. It's scary and needed if I am to live a long life.
This extra weight is flaring up my fibromyalgia and making it painful to walk. I am border-line diabetic and come from a long line of diabetics. It's life or death. I choose life! Would like to hold hands with others who are committed to this goal. It's not about over-eating...I am insulin resistant and can not process any grains/sugar. Atkins is what works best for me, and I would appreciate any support. Blessings, Mobile Yogi |
Hi!
I started my 100 pound weight loss on December 1st. I have so far lost 20, but I know that is the big easy bit in the beginning. I gained mine when I was doing IVF and then put on bed rest for my entire pregnancy. The hormones I was injecting along with inactivity destroyed my body and afterward my spirit when I saw what had happened to my body. I have no regrets. I have a lovely son and adore him very much, but it has been hard at at times I have felt hopeless. I am not sure what happened, but something inside me said enough and I am very focused and committed to being healthy for him. I am also looking for support. I am not into any diets, so I am afraid I can't help much in that department. I am more into going back to the lifestyle I had before I married my husband who loves to eat, and not necessarily the best things for our bodies. I have changed the way I do things by eating better quality foods and making sure I have lots of activity. I also have thyroid issues and PCOS. Things that are not making this easy, but I am determined. I am a 45 year old vegetarian, striving to be vegan again. I like to take from all sorts of methods to find a good balance. Peace & Blessings, Jo |
100 pound club
It has to come off very slowly in order to keep it off. I have been on Fit Day since June and have only lost 17 pounds. Christmas sure sabotaged me. But I am back on the wagon. I love FitDay. I now think about what I'll have to enter on FitDay if I eat too much.
I am older and somewhat disabled from fibromyalgia so it's coming off very very slowly. I have gotten discouraged but I've gone down a size and that has motivated me to keep trying. I get extremely little exercise but as long as I eat 1,300 to 1,500 calories (because I burn 1,900 just by breathing and going about my daily ordinary activities) then that's 400 calories less a day which SHOULD translate to a 1 lb a week loss but is averaging out to .33 lb a week loss. I'm glad there is this forum to support each other. |
I'm in too!
Today is my first day. 100 + for me, I have not figured out just how I plan to do this, so its nice to know there are others out there as well. I figure if I can quit smoking after 25 years for my health I can lose the pounds for my health as well. Look forward to having friends as I go. :)

100 pounds +
Hi, I also would like to join you in losing 100 + pounds! Having asthma and sleep apnea is such a pain ! Of course all the other junk that comes along with being over weight... the aches and pains .. worrying about .. will I fit in that chair.. can I fly ... what will I wear ? getting off the couch gracefully ! I hate all of those things. I want to be comfortable in my skin. Even if I don't lose 100 + pounds.. as long as I keep moving in the right direction sounds wonderful to me. Hope we can all give each other encouragement to keep going to a healthier new way of eating and living.
|
Hi Ladies. Mind if I join you? I found Fitday several years ago. I use it religiously and take some weight off. I even took off 100+ one year, but then I stop signing in, I didn't watch what I ate by recording my food, and the weight piled back on. I will be 40 this year and I have to resolve myself to the fact that I need to take the weight off, and keep it off.
Would any of you like to sign on about once or twice a week just to provide some support to one another? My husband says he wants to lose weight, too. 15 pounds?!?!? It's just not the same. I thought that if we could just stop by, see how things are going, it might keep us on track. Thanks and I hope we can all help each other. |
Hi ladies....
I would love to join this club! Im a really shy person but once I get to know people i wont stop talking lol.

100 lb club
Is this the only way to chat.. posts ? I wish there was a chat room option.
Hope all you ladies are doing well ! So far so good for me... I did lose a couple pounds since starting. Amazing how good a few little pounds could feel when they come off... I want more off ! Now I need to get my butt on the treadmill. How are the rest of you doing ? My Name is Laurie... Good luck today ! |
Good morning ladies! I also would like to join! I have spent the majority of my life overweight. I have lost the same 100lbs at least 5 times! I am 39 years old, very soon to be 40. Atkins also works best for me. I began Atkins religiously in June 2006 and lost 125lbs by November of 2008. I was down to 150lbs but then due to marital issues I drowned my sorrows in food again and here I am back where I started!!!! It was my resolution this year to accomplish the following: get back on Atkins, be more disciplined in work (I work from home), and generally find a balance that works for ME. I began Atkins again on January 1st and so far have lost 20lbs which I know is primarily water weight. I retain alot of water but the good news is that Atkins is a natural diuretic. I am new to Fitday but I have to say that so far I LOVE IT! I like seeing exactly what I eat and being able to see how many carbs I have taken in at a glance. Support is so important and I am looking forward to getting to know you all and together we can change our lives.

Hey guys!
I was hoping I'd find a group of like minded folks who have a long jouney ahead of them. My name is Diane, I'm 29, and I've got about 150 pounds to lose to really get where I should be. I try not to think about the big number too much, it gets overwhelming. I'm not doing any special diet, just counting calories and making sure I'm getting enough nutrition. I've been doing FitDay for about a month now and I really like it! I don't have a functional scale at the moment- we have two, and they're both dead, go figure- so I weight myself at my friend's house when I find myself over there, and measure myself every Tuesday. I find a lot of comfort in the little victories of half an inch. I don't have a specific date in mind to get all the weight off. Right now I'm just trying to hit 285 by the end of March. I do live with my boyfriend, who is supportive, but at 5'10" and about 120, he doesn't quite get it. :) I know this will sound weird, but I asked him once, when I started getting serious about losing weight, if he would still be attracted to me if I got skinny. Part of me realized that it seems like a stupid question, but people like what they like. I was fat two years ago when we met, and if anything I've put on weight since we've been together. I'm sorry, that was probably a bit much for an introduction, I'll warn you in advance, I tend to be a rambler. I'm thrilled to find this thread, and if anyone is interested in talking "live" I'll share my facebook or msn messenger/aim info. Good luck to us all for making the commitment to ourselves to improve our lives! I look forward to talking with you!
|
Welcome Diane! Your introduction was great! I can totally relate to the asking your boyfriend if he will still be attracted to you skinny. My husband too is supportive but when I lost the weight last time he seemed different. We will see what happens this time! I also have facebook and would love to add you as a friend and help you on your journey any way I can. Let me know! Lily

Laurie Can I offer some support as someone who's already lost over 155 lbs? I have roughly 25 more to go. It feels like I've been doing this my whole life and the numbers on the scale my master. It used to be that "good" weigh in numbers meant I 'll have a good day, "bad" ones meant I'm a worthless s***. I had to stop looking for the numerical validation and start seeing how I was feeling...did I have more energy, was I sleeping better, less temperamental and so on. I only weigh myself every 2-4 weeks now rather than 3-4 times a day and I have a lot more peace of mind. It isn't a diet for me anymore, its the way I live my life. I hope this helps. |
Hi ladies
I have a question for all of you! Well, I was weighing 388lbs when I first started. Then I just started watching what I ate, and now im currently 357. I have been their for a few days, and it is bugging the daylights out of me. I have also started doing the low carb diet and absolutly no processed sugars. Im feeling wonderful and have a ton of energy, but after a week of eating just low carb and going to the gym, shouldnt something start to reflect on the scale? Or, could my body be fighting me to keep my weight on because it is used to it. Any ideas? I was losing a few lbs a day if this helps, thanks!
|
Hi Lily! And everyone else! Not that I plan on abandoning the forums, but just if anyone wants to and doesn't want to put their info out there, you can find me on facebook under Diane Brinkley, if you like msn messenger my email for that is [email protected] (this is my email for facebook too, that might make me easier to find on it. I don't actually use that email for anything other than for junk, so i don't really check it) and my aim screen name is eloquinravenwing. But how is everyone doing this Friday? Are you looking forward to the weekend, or dreading it? I usually cut myself a little slack on the weekends, so I'm looking forward to it. I am feeling a little guilty about the hot chocolate made with milk I had last night.... with whipped cream  ... and this is why I don't keep anything in the house, cause I know randomly my resolve cracks. I'm a really good baker, which makes me dangerous to myself anyway, since if I didn't buy it, I can always make it. But at one in the morning, I wasn't about to start cooking! And this is why I give myself wiggle room on the weekends, to revel a bit in being "naughty" and prevent a worse binge than some cocoa. So yeah, the weekend, what are your thoughts on weekends? How does everyone else take them and their lack of structure on?

@ gemini2321
Its normal to see a big drop at first, and then for it to level off as your body adjusts to the new diet and exercise routines. The healthiest thing for anyone is to lose 1-2 pounds a week. A good way to rev up your weight loss when you plateau and stop losing all together is to change up your exercise routine. Do a little more intense cardio, like if you use a treadmill, raise the incline or speed, if you use weight training, up the weight, reps or sets. Your body acclimates very quickly to change, so throwing something new in there is a good way to shake it out of its placidness. If your gym offers group classes, try a new class. But don't be surprised that if no matter what, you never see the level of weight loss you saw your first couple of weeks. I always used to hate when my mom said it, but its true, just remember that you didn't gain the weight in a few weeks, and you're not going to lose it all in a few weeks either. Make sure you don't starve or overwork yourself, just keep plugging away at it, and it will happen slowly and surely.

Hi! New here and I am looking for a place I can find support. I have 5 beautiful children from 4 pregnancies. With those 4 pregnancies came the weight. My husband and I did weight watchers for a while but it got so expensive that we had to drop out of it. I struggle with making myself eat so I am in starvation mode. I have 100 pounds to lose and I have been trying to lose it by myself but seem to do better with others to talk to. I would love to be smaller by summer. I know I wont be at my "perfect" goal weight by then but I would like to have lost about 15 pounds. I hope to get to know a few of the ladies here. Thank you for reading this!!

Hi all! My name is Christina and I am 30 years old. I need to lose at least 100lbs, but haven't bothered to look at a scale in forever. I can tell just by the way my clothes fit. I lost about 30lbs a few years ago and dipped below 200 and it was great. I even kept it off for a year and half. :D Then I moved cross country and there my extra weight was waiting for me and it brought friends! So I am going to try again. I fly back East in May for a wedding and would at least like to look semi-decent. Of course, 8 days on FitDay and it looks like every other day. I have the will power of a gnat! I hope to go to the gym at my apartment tomorrow and actually pursue physical activity. I am also going to be living off Smart Ones for at least two weeks to help my mind adjust to the portion size. One of my biggest problems is that I am an inconsistent eater. So I may go a day without eating because I am busy and then binge the next. Ugh! Well here is to a new year, new start!:)
|
you know, my mom says the same thing! Tonight I added another 10 minutes of the stepper and another 10 minutes of walking. I only do weights around 3 times a week but am going to see the trainer on monday so I will be talking to her about it. until then, I definetly will mix it up. Thank you for your imput! :) I can relax for a bit now.

ugh......
So it was a bit of a rough weekend and I fell back into some emotional eating habits and by the gods am I paying for it today. My poor tummy is so mad at me. I believe I will be picking up some Pepto at the grocery store this evening when we go shopping. Let this teach me a lesson about eating junk as a reaction to my stresses. I don't need to feel guilty, my body is giving me enough of a guilt trip on its own!
I've been thinking about maybe trying to find like a ten bean soup mix at my local Food Lion. I saw an awesome looking one at Trader Joe's when I was there with a friend, but until my temp agency comes through with an assignment for me, we're not shopping anywhere "fancy". In case you've got one near you, they have an awesome tomato soup that comes in a box, like the ones used for chicken broth. It comes in both regular and low sodium. Its ready made, so you just have to pour out a portion and heat it up. I like going to the grocery store and finding new things to try, it gets me motivated for the week to come. Now all I need to do is cruise the on demand channel and see what excerise videos they have to offer. I really liked the little snippet of the Biggest Loser CardioMax they had on, even if Bob destroyed my legs! I'm going to have to break down and buy it when I'm working again. Then again, I've said once I have money coming in I'm going to join the all women's gym down the street. I used to go there in high school, and its a great place, on top of having a resonable monthly fee, unlike some of the other places around here. Well, ladies, enjoy your Sunday nights, good luck to you all and have a wonderful start to your week! I'll be in touch! |

I'm Kristina. I'm 24 and have always been heavy. I actually lost weight when I had my kids, but 3 years of being a stay-at-home mommy and wife has taken it's toll. Taking care of everyone else had put me in the backseat until I woke up and realized that I'd hit a lifetime high of 290. I've been on FitDay for a week now, and I love the support. Overall, I need to lose at least 150 pounds. I'm trying to just take it one day at a time, though. Watching my calories and nutrition and I've started working out again. I do love Exercise On Demand! I'm down 5 pounds from when I started last week, and that is so motivating! I would like to find a sort of accountability buddy. Someone to push me and encourage me. My husband doesn't get it. He tries... but his idea of being supportive is to go buy me a box of Slimfast bars and pick himself up two packages of cookies and a six-pack of Snapple Sweet Tea in the process.

Welcome, all
I've not been here for a few days and I am glad to see that I am not the only one who would like to take the weight off. However, the reason I've not been here is because I felt bad. See, I'm a school teacher. I was all ready to start anew when we returned from Christmas break. Well... THen the snow came, and came, and came... We had one day of school all last week due to the weather, so I sat at home, and ate, no exercise, and ate some more. Needless to say, I felt terribly guilty. But it's a new week, and I am back on the wagon. Walked at school, up and down the stairs, and watched what I ate. I'm doing a low-carb. It worked best for me before. I'm getting ready to check my daily intake and will monitor it from Fitday. This Program really is the greatest thing. I found it several years and I has really helped. Now that they've added this forum, it's even better.
I will check back in in a few days and let you all know how it's going. Maybe we can have a weekly weigh-in. Let me know. |
Hi ladies!
I am a Forty something from Australia, and it's currently HOT as heck down here, can some one send me some of that Big Freeze you guys are having!!! Another who needs to lose 100+ (50-60kg) I started using FitDay April last year, and lost about 10kg (22lb) over 3 months, by counting calories and being sensible, it wasn't hard and I was really motivated.. then I suddenly lost the motivation started stuffing my face again.. and wham.. all the weight has piled back on again.. sigh! So we begin again :) I am doing a self designed diet with no Wheat/Rice/Potatoes, plenty of other Veggies, Fruit, lean meats etc. Like someone else (sorry I didn't get the name) I am a good baker and love cooking especially gourmet, this has been a big downfall for me weight wise, but I am now very determined to get healthy, as I feel like a blob, and have been finding things like getting down on the ground, kneeling, squatting - getting up from being on the ground getting harder and harder to do, if I don't start losing it I will be condeming myself to being less able to do things physically, which is really scary! Thanks to FitDay for starting the forums! And a big Yay to all of us for our new lifestyle - We CAN do this girls!!!!! |
Tuesday
Good morning ladies... I seem to be moving slow... trying not to get upset about it.. instead changing some things around. I hope that works !!
Have a great day ! Off to work I go.. Laurie |
Hey Kristina, I'm found the Jillian Michaels' vid on the TV, I'm gonna give it a try in a little bit, once I finish lunch and it settles, I'll let you know how hilariously rubber legged I am. I need to find something to use as weights too, in case I need them for the workout.
|
Kristina- that was a crazy workout! but good! I like how she would give beginner alternatives. With me living in a third floor apartment, at my weight, I'm totally not comfortable jumping around on the floor. That, and I'm not really at that level yet. I liked it! I think I'll definitely be doing this for as long as they keep it on demand, which looks to be through February 9th. And then I might just go buy it! Thanks for the heads up on that one, its much appreciated!
|
D--I did it today, too. Wow! I think I'm going to die every time I do it... but I got farther today before I seriously contemplated quitting. But somehow I finished it! I do the beginner positions, too. 283 pounds jumping up and down repeatedly could be dangerous for us all!
|
has anyone tired the biggest loser boot camp? i couldnt walk for 3 days. my co workers at the hospital kept laughing and saying i was walking like i had been on a horse for days. i didnt find it too funny, and still trying to get the courage to do the video again. maybe i should take it easy the next time.
good luck all |
Aw, Syd. Don't kill yourself... listen to your body and it will tell you when you're pushing too hard. It can be difficult to recognize the difference between discomfort and actual pain until you're used to the activity. I know you have to get uncomfortable to get results, but doing too much too fast can be dangerous.

Hi
I joined Jan 6th and started Weight watchers. I need to lose 111 pounds to get in the middle of my healthy weight range. I lost 6.5 pounds last week so I am motivated to keep going. I do not feel healthy or think I look it and now I feel I really need to do this. I have MS and I worry if something happens to me that my family would not be able to life me or worse they would see me should they have to bath me. I am hoping to lose most in 1 year.I have my 10th anniversary next year and want to look better than when we got married. |
Help!
I am new here and like you all I have 100lbs to loose. I have wanted to loose this weight for some time, but feel differently about it than I ever have before. My husband was overweight when we met and married and I was skinny and active. I put on 100lbs in 4 years of marriage. My husband starting loosing weight in Sept. 09, and has lost 20lbs so far. He is like a small time celeb at work and everyone calls him to see if he can give advice. I am not jealous, just afraid. I am very happy for him and he looks great, but I feel more insecure than I ever have. I find myself thinking competitvely and wanting to be noticed by him. At this point I am more overweight than he is and I am a lil down. I wish he would wait up for me or something. lol
Any advice. I am eating very well I leave my foods public, but I have no motivation to exercise, and I don't want him to think that I am going to try and steal his thunder. |
Thursday Weigh-in
Hi ladies. Just wanted to post here today. I started Monday. Lost 2.2 lbs. I am doing low-carb diet and watching the calorie intake. I've been successfull with it in the past. Just hope I can stick with it.

Hello Ladies :3
My name is Rina(short for Marina) & I also need to lose over 100 lbs >.< I'm 18 turning 19 in March and I'm so tired of being overweight and unhappy. My current weight is 265 lbs *Dies*. I love to talk and play internet games XD I'm also a "House Wife" but without the children. I hope everyone is having a good day. -Rina |
Hey all, my name is Tobii-Rhea, I'm from the UK. I currently weigh 293 down from 357 and my goal weight is 140 so I have 154 to lose.....fun fun. Anyways I have used Fitday on and off for years but just made a new account to start afresh. I am also doing weight watchers but thought I would use this to track calories aswell as points. I am a Mother of 5, 3 at home and engaged to be married in May 2011 which is my goal for most of my weight to be gone. I also suffer with chronic sciatica and possible CFS so exercise is really difficult as I am on and off crutches with pain and fatigue. If anyone on here wants a diet buddy, feel free to add me on Facebook. (Tobii-Rhea Starr....I'm the only person on there with that name lol) Anyways good luck everyone xxx |
And now I too jump on the bandwagon. My 250 lb. self is ready to lose weight. I can't even wear my engagement ring and wedding ring b/c my fingers are too fat. I've only been married 2 years - it's too soon to pack them away in a box. My husband and 16-month-old son are the lights of my life, and thankfully dh is completely supportive about my goal. He also has quite a bit to lose and will join me as soon as he is over this flu-bug that has lasted 2+ weeks. But even with that, I know myself and that it will be better for me to get support from here. I look forward to hearing from others about what they are doing to shed the pounds.
Christine |
Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site...
MandyIsReady--I LOVE your screen name!! That is how I feel too. Like all of you, I want to loose 100lbs...and like all of you, I'm going to! Weight has been an issue for me since I was 19-20, before then I always played competitive sports (high school, aau, college)...then, when those stopped my weight gain started. Add in 2 kids, a job where I sit at a desk all day, and a 6'4" 185 lbs boyfriend that can eat whatever he wants....and you get an extra 100 lbs to carry around. I've tried weight watchers, Atkins, south beach and more....all with quick results (20-30 lbs) that didn't stick. But, this time is different. No diet, just a total life overhaul. My boyfriend is on board too (although his goals are to gain weight and muscle). We did a dump day and cleaned all the junk food out of our house (much to the dismay of our 3 year old). Now it's about eating healthy and exercise. I'm glad I found this group and look foward to keeping in touch with you ladies and seeing us all meet our goals!! PS Do many of you have FB?? That is more chatty than this...I saw someone else mention wishing there was a better forum. I'd be more than happy to create a private group for us. Let me know!! |
