I'm going to join this thread as well if that's okay.

Weight Goals Today:

~ stick to my food plan
~ get my walking in
~ get my weight training in
~ to change activity instead of emotionally eating journal, read, have a bath, knit whatever
~ to journal my food, mood, & get support here DAILY to 'stay' & get the support i need.

Personal Goals:

~ not to beat myself up for letting some weight creep back on. give myself credit for catching before it got to out of control.

I'm feeling in a vunderable place & am disspaointed with myself.

01gt4.6 02-09-2011 03:36 AM

Health & Fitness Related:
1) (Sunday) 1/2 Marathon in 2h 38m or faster
2) Gallon of water per day. yes 135.2oz
3) 200 pushups 75
4) 50 pullups 20
5) 50 chinups 20

Other Goals:
1) Make a YouTube Video (put some effort in to this)... this may not be until next week, b/c I'll want to update on the race. not yet
2) Make a big, nasty pan of lasagna for my SIL (day before the race carb load). BTW Big & Nasty is a good thing. :D

The impossible:

Hi, Ladies! Great posts, and welcome to all you new ladies. I only have time to note my Tuesday progress, so here goes . . . it was a fair day (cold slightly better).

Diet/Fitness goals
1) 1600 cal/day, under 30% fat (M/yes! 1362, 27%)(T/yes 1300, 20%)
2) 400-600 calorie deficit through exercise alone by doing: (M/no)(T/220)
a) cardio 5X/week
b) weights, 2X/week-full body
4) 8 glass plus of water (yes)(T/yes)

Personal Project Goals:
1) Spend more time in my studio--4 days/wk minimum (just BE in my space--as my husband reminds me "you won't paint if you're not there." (M/no--worked all day)(T/no)
2) Gather tax stuff - almost done (partly)(no)

Start Weight 1/1: 135
Weight 2/9: 130 (yay again!)
4/1/11 Goal: still 125!!!

Finally off to my studio this morning to finish a painting to enter a statewide exhibition. Will walk to the studio about 2 miles. Hope to make it to the gym for weights. I'm taking it really easy tho because of this horrible cough. I sound terrible and only feel slightly bad.

Keep up all the good work - "see" you tomorrow!

01gt4.6 02-09-2011 05:22 AM

Stacey, welcome back. :)

Cassie, I see "5. Get in three of my water bottles daily", I know you are small but can you fit? I'd suggest drinking them instead of trying to get in them. ;) Great job on # 3

Twinner, Chocolate covered oreos??? YUMMY! Have you ever had (I don't know what it's called) 2 Ritz crackers with peanut butter between them, then dipped in chocolate. Kinda reminds me of Girl Scout Tagalongs, only better!

Vabs, congrats on the sleep! Good job on the lifting but you better get busy on your mail before you drown in it.

Almeeker, get busy on #1! What race are you planning to register for?

Quinn, your #'s are looking great, keep it up.

Rose, ring, ring ring... the Y is calling yo!

Mern, nice job! :) 148g of protein is tough on 1593 cals. You you taking supplements?

taubelle, 10 goals??

Caroline, congrats on almost being married 9 years, especially at a young age. I never could make it much past 1 year. I always that of it as a quick way to drop 125 pounds or so. Being a photgrapher can be a busy job. I have a good friend that's a photographer, I was going to post his webiste for you to see b/c i'm trying to keep the spamming down and didn't want to contribute to it.

cjohnson728 02-09-2011 05:31 AM

You're a laugh riot, Mike, I tell you...:). Get three bottles' worth of water in me...how is that?

Stacey, I'm glad to see you popped back in. Did you make the move yet, or are you planning to? Hope all is going okay with you and your son.

staceyalberta 02-09-2011 05:35 AM

i did more than drift away over the holidays...lol...but i'm back & plan to be here. i say that every time ~sigh~

01gt4.6 02-09-2011 05:43 AM

This is one of the things that I have the students in my chocolate class constuct, I call them "Peanut Butter Love Handles". Another one is to dip the Ritz crackers in mint milk chocolate, I call 'em "Faux Thin Mints" or "Ritz Grasshoppers", they are my favorite and eating just one will trigger me to eat maybe 10-15 more. Pretty much can't have them in the house and stay on track. I also teach fondants & fillings, dipping techniques, truffles and chocolate covered fruit. So now you know why #1 is sooooo hard for me these days. I've taught 1-2 classes/week for the last 3 weeks and I have 2 more to go.

The race I'm looking at is the Old Kent River Bank Run 5, 10 or 25K. The SIL wants to do the 10K, we'll see - I'm having some training issues. I talked to my DD's about coming with me and registering as a "team" and they were pumped, so maybe it'll be a family fast walk instead of a race. The last time I wanted to do a race, I was belly up and wishing for death.

Cassie I haven't moved yet & right now it's on hold as my ex is really making an effort to see our son....soooo... i can't move him farther away.

Peanut Butter Love Handles sounds about right! Last night I fell victim to Apple Cobbler Love Handles topped with Vanilla Ice Cream Thunder Thighs. :(

almeeker 02-09-2011 06:18 AM

That sounds like a real "Up-scale" event there Mike. I thought the carb-loading was scheduled for later this week? I'm in no place to criticize. Sitting here at nearly 1,100 for the day, and planning an all-out cardio workout this evening. It's looking bad for #1 again today.

01gt4.6 02-09-2011 06:26 AM

eh, I'm not a low carber so when I load up it's pretty extreme. LOL I probably won't eat much lasagna, but my SIL will b/c she believes in loading the day before. Then again, she also believes in training (which I think is overrated). Well, I did some training today, I went 1 mile. Does that count?

Yea, I'm hoping so, I used to work at a pizza place and an ice cream place before so I've been all over, plus my brother and his girlfriend work there so even if I don't get hired I will still probably see his boss and his wife

and only time will tell- they never told me when they would call me back so I'm not sure if that's good or bad but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Chocolate Class?! WOO! sounds like a place for me! : D Maybe I should go into Culinary.. but that would undo my whole diet =( ...but i love Chocolate.. lol but I haven't had any since before last week so I'm doing good :D It's not even my goal this week.

Maybe I should start running too- I've been afraid of running since I hurt myself in Boot Camp from running and ended up in crutches =( but crutches are a work out too lol and I think my hips and legs are healed after almost 4 years.

Phew! I sure make a lot of posts when I get back on Fit Day =( I'm such a talker lol

Running scares me too, I'm an asthmatic with short legs, one with a reconstructed knee (so my legs aren't the same length anymore), and a bladder that's been through 3 pregnancies.

I'm chatty too. If that's you in the picture, you look so much like a college friend of mine.

Oh wow I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much then, I messed up my hips and my legs somehow but they should be recovered by now- they weren't broken though and doctors couldn't figure out what happened.

And I've never had any kids definitely not ready for any right now.

And yep it's my boyfriend and myself. I live in Michigan so I don't know, people always say I look like some one they know, don't know why.. but soon I am having a drastic hair make over based off one of the girls of country music so we'll see what happens then

I was the stock room manager of Express. Back then I got a 40% discount at Express, Limited, Victoria's Secret & Bath and Body Works.

vabeachgirlNYC 02-09-2011 09:50 AM

Wow everyone is so busy! Yesterday it got warm enough to shed my sweatshirt but now people are saying it's going to snow here! Yay!!!

I am trying to catch up on everyone's posts then I am going to try to "kidnap" my god daughter to go get FroYo! I always remember feeling extra special doing stuff like that on school nights!

jhowar16- I always have people tell me I look familiar too! Good luck on the job search, I have to admit I LOL'd about the phone number!

almeeker- No way would I be able to make all that chocolate and not eat some! Do you make dark chocolate???

01gt4.6- I don't even like shopping in a mall! But I love Express and VC!

carolinefrance- That's pretty cool that you are even more in love 9 years later. :)

staceyalberta- Love the belly dancing outfit! :D

Ooh! I'm not sure what Express is but you got discounts on other stores in the mall? Sweet! We have a Victoria's Secret here too and I do enjoy some of their things in there lol my boyfriend always feel awkward shopping with me there.

VABeachGirl Yea, I couldn't do anything but laugh and say "Oh, maybe that's why no one called me back"

And what is considered warm in your city? Just curious because when Michigan goes through its rough winters, by the time 40 rolls around- pretty soon here- it feels like a heat wave! lol

Oh Mike, you are too funny. This made me laugh out loud. I know I know... it's hard with my work schedule right now. Luckily I just finished something for a major deadline so there will be a couple of days of down time until the work fury starts again. Sigh.

If I have Friday off, then I will go sign up at the Y, if not I'll have to go on Sunday because my Saturday is all booked up. I am proud to say that I have completed 18 30 Day Shred workouts in the last 20 days and have lost 3.5 inches off my waist!

Mike, congrats on staying off the scale. I was majorly tempted this morning but I resisted. We can do this!

Welcome back, Stacey. Are you really in Alberta? I'm on the other end of the country in Montreal. Glad to have you back and I was gone for a few weeks myself due to my Holiday detour so you aren't the only one for sure!

Jess, I hope you get that call soon!

1) maintain the food log, every day yep, yep
2) get some sort of workout in at some point no and no, but both kids are out on a sick day so I give myself a pass on this one

personal goals:

1) get the taxes in the mail Federal's done, state and city to go
2) find something fun to do with the daughter this weekend

Hangin' in there, one day at a time;)

staceyalberta 02-09-2011 12:26 PM

Rose ~ i am in alberta ~sigh~ -22 C today & still walked to work...lol. my home is vancouver, but i made it out here with my ex. lucky me i get to go lead cubs tonight & we are doing outside activities...lol. i know i know it's good for me.

NB-PEmom 02-09-2011 12:28 PM

Wow! You guys have been busy posting today! Wish I had more time to keep up!

Here's my update!
Targets for this week ~
1. DO NOT GET WEIGHED UNTIL NEXT MONDAY. (This HAS to be #1) So far so good; I got on...but I was down 2, so Yahoo!
2. More veggies on a daily basis. Yes, yes, yes
3. Begin a folder of favourite exercises and workouts. Not yet - tonight perhaps
4. 6 visits to the gym. Mon- yes, Tues - No (last trainer session yesterday and I am wiped out! Back at it tomorrow!Wed - yes
5. Keep food to 1500-1700 cal. Yes, Yes, Yes

So far, so good. Started wearing my pedometer to work again so I can track my steps.

Stressful afternoon - my son was in a fight at school :( Actually, it was more of a shoving match. The teacher who stopped it said, "They weren't very good at it." which makes sense - he's never had any trouble at school. The other boy is a "bully" who he finally stood up to. I don't condone the violence, but I'm glad he had the guts to stand up for himself. I also had a great chat with the principal tonight, which made me feel better. He does, however, have to stay home for one day (zero tolerance policy). And the good news is, I resisted the box of Wagon Wheels in the cupboard and had a Skinny Cow fudgsicle instead!!! :)

Have a great night/day - depending on when you read this.

Cheers,

yunalee 02-09-2011 12:37 PM

i'm having a hard time keeping myself motivated this week since last week i was sicks and wasn't able to keep up with my workouts and diet. is it best for me to not turn on my laptop when i wake up, and to do my workout before i turn my laptop on?

You know you burn 30% more calories doing any physical activity in that kind of cold. I always try to keep that in mind when I walk to work in -22 C. We were lucky with our balmy -8 today.

Oh ya, nice belly dancing outfit!

cjohnson728 02-09-2011 03:29 PM

Stacey, it's neat to see you in your belly-dancing garb after reading your posts about how much fun it was for you last year.

Michelle, had to laugh...sounds like the best of both worlds, having a child who will stand up for himself but in no way is going down the road of using his fists to solve problems..."not very good at it" is too funny.

Anyway, here's the day:

1. Calorie deficit of 250-300, because I keep slipping and can't get back to my pre-holiday weight/body fat % Yes, Yes but barely, Yes
2. Balance the pie chart, carbs no more than 45% Yes-45, Yes-45, Yes-43 (somehow, success on my meatless day this week)
3. Exercise 7X's (daily, or double up) Doubled up today (weights and intervals), yes (3 mile run), yes (hour of yoga)
4. Sleep at least seven hours a night. Fail, Yes, Yes
5. Get in three of my water bottles daily (I'm pretty regular about 2) Yes, Just finishing, No
6. Stay off the scale this week Yes, Yes, Yes

7. One organizational office task per day (at least a small one) Not today-but I helped set up the Scholastic Book Fair at school, Yes, Yes
8. Finish painting stair trim and spindles by end of weekend Weekend being the operative word...
9. Try a new healthy recipe or make over an old one Not yet
10. Complete the family financial summit with hubby Scheduled for Saturday

All times are GMT -12. The time now is 09:11 PM.
