Gaining back a 1/2 lb isn't too bad for having surgery and not being allowed to exercise for the last 5 days. I'm out of the cardio pool for another 5 days. Check in with my doc tomorrow to get the OK to return to work. I'm feeling good and recovering well from the day surgery. Although I can't spell to save my life today...

I have been suffering from the most vicious case of stomach flu I've ever had. Seriously I've been belly up, moaning, groaning and barfing since Sunday, I've even had to go to the hospital for IV fluids. This is horrible and has reinforced everything I know about why I chose to "get healthy" rather than just "get skinny". Anorexia and bulimia are not for me in any way shape or form. And for anyone the least impressed with my loss this last week, let me just point out that I look like a concentration camp victim, I have dark circles under my eyes, my arms look downright stringy and my skin is gray all over. I can't wait to eat again and get back to the gym. Happy Thanksgiving, I'm just thankful to be alive.

Hope u r feeling much better almeeker and u r able to get back to your normal routine.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies, I'm on the mend, I even have pants on today! And a bra!! Which begs the question, why do we wear these things? They're horrible!!! I'm still not back to 100% yet, so I may have to take a nap this afternoon in my ugly flowered moo-moo - commando.

A sight to make you wish to be blinded. Do you want to know the saddest part? Of all the clothing that I have taken to Goodwill and various churches blah blah blah, I haven't given away any pj's. Pj's are pj's, and they are supposed to be comfortable. Well ladies it doesn't get much more comfy than 10 times to big for you, so here I sit in my hideous and super over large flowered moo-moo, oh no wait this one has poodles on it, chatting with all of you. I will say that just today I went on-line and added some nighties to my Amazon.com wish list, maybe my MIL or some such will take pity on my husbands eyeballs and get me something a little less um, cloud-like for X-mas.

LMAO!! @ cloud-like!!

I am having a problem.. I have always worn my clothes too large.. no! my pants arent around my ankles like kids today... but I wear shirts 2 - 3 times larger etc... but now.. even though I have gone down some sizes in pants and stuff... hmm I dont know how to explain this... I cant tell what size I am.

I found myself asking my friend in a restaurant.. if I was smaller, the same or larger than the woman sitting across from us. I thought I was either the same or larger and my friend said I was about half the size.

Anyone else having a problem of looking at yourself and not seeing any difference even though there is some?

GameGal, yes I have this problem ALL THE TIME. Do you want to hear something strange? Well too bad you have to anyway. For years and years and years I had to shop on the plus racks, seriously I've worn a size 18-20 since sometime in the 90's. So now that I can no longer wear those sizes I still want that look right? I can't tell you how much trouble I have at the Fashion Bug, since they have all the sizes together every which way, I automatically gravitate toward the chubby girl stuff. That's been my comfort zone forever. The ladies that work at my local FB are constantly cracking up at me because I'll pick up some shirt or some such and ask if they can get it for me in a Women's size small or medium. And the ones I invariably like are always the ones that ONLY come in plus size. I gotta give it to that manager she's a real trouper, like a boomerang she's is forever dragging my saggy butt over to the petite junior rack and finding me a deal on something that fits.

Okies, I'll post my latest results from my weigh-in last Friday. I'm not so in love with looking at my progress on this thread since I started it knee-deep in a plateau, lol. Ah well. I know I won't hit my Christmas goal; I'm really hoping I can be somewhere in the "2-0-something's" by the end of the year. ;) Hope all are doing well.

I'm half a pound down this week, and it leaves me with 4lbs to loss in 13 days. It's a pretty big task, and just as I'm hitting my plateau too. We'll see, fingers crossed for me? x

Seeing as I have swine flu, don't have an accurate scale at home and can't leave the house I have been unable to weigh myself this week. :(
Hopefully when this is all over I will reach this goal quickly and be able to move on to the next.

Well - I didn't reach my goal - but I maintained...
 

So I didn't reach the goal of 40 pounds by Christmas/in 14 weeks... But I did lose 20 pounds in the 14 weeks and I managed to maintain - even though I wasn't 'dieting' or exercising over the holidays...

New goal: Lose last 20 pounds by 1 July 2011 and be able to ace the United States Air Force fitness test and run at least a 5K.

Hope everyone else achieved their goals - and if not - hopefully you weren't like most people and put weight on - hopefully you lost some during the holiday/over the 14 weeks - if not its a new year and a fresh start!
