This could be a song:

All I want for Christmas is my butt in smaller jeans
my butt in smaller jeans, my butt in smaller jeans.
All I want for Christmas is my butt in smaller jeans, so I can wish you a Merry Christmas (shaky shake).

I say we make it our team fight song! Whose with me now?

Okay, weigh-in last week on Friday was 156.5, So that will be my official start.

almeeker 156.5

jmaemme 09-20-2010 03:53 AM

Thanks - excited!

Thanks, all of you who are joining me in my pre-holiday merriment! I can see already that this is going to be fun.

Almeeker you're a hoot!

Flutrbug - you know it took a long time to gain that weight, give yourself some time to take it off. What a great opportunity to teach your children the value of self control and exercise.

Traceymc - any day can be weigh in day - the point is to lose weight.

Anyone planning to shop for Christmas clothes?

I love our fight song!

My weigh-in last week on Friday was 252, so that will be my official start. and my goal is 222 by Christmas. This is just the challenge I need since my annual physical is always in January and I usually feel BLAH about it since last year I was at my heaviest. :o Off to change my signature...

traceymc1985 09-20-2010 05:01 AM

This is a great thread- im loving it already.
Almeeker- i love reading your posts and ive already got the song in my head and will sing it round the supermarket to keep me focused!!!

AmySmiles28 09-20-2010 05:57 AM

Almeeker I Love your song!

LOL I'm sure we can all come up with some great Christmas jingles to keep us motivated!

almeeker 09-20-2010 06:31 AM

I think I'm going to add my "Christmas Goal" to my signature. I should confess I was maybe typing a little too early this morning, I'm what you might call "slap happy" before the second cup. Ah, yes I do believe we can come up with some very silly slim Christmas diddies. Maybe we skip adopting a fight song and go straight to cutting a Christmas album? "I'll be ripped for Christmas, you can plan on it.... Good grief, I think I just made Bing Crosby roll over in his grave.

AmySmiles28 09-20-2010 07:09 AM

How about this one...

Sung to the tune of It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

I'm beginning to look a tad bit smaller.
Soon the jiggles will go.
Take a look in the mirror now.
All I can say is Wow!
The calorie counting is really starting to show!

I'm beginning to feel slightly thinner.
Muscles are tightening Up!
But the prettiest sight to see, will be me in my skinny jeans,
with no muffin top!

A pair of tits in a bra thats not 2 sizes small, will get rid of the roll in the back.
Thighs that don't touch and a butt that is cut, is something I'll no longer lack!
And I'll be glad I stuck to plan that fit day helped me make!

gotmenot 09-20-2010 08:15 AM

I am in too! Tanks for the motivating idea! You have no idea how much I needed this!:):)

GameGal 09-20-2010 01:26 PM

Amy you are one step ahead of me. I have been tinkering with a new version of this song in my head since the album was mentioned!!

AmySmiles28 09-20-2010 02:50 PM

:p I can't wait to hear what others come up with! Can you tell I have a bit too much time on my hands?

07thatgirl 09-20-2010 03:23 PM

Yes

I am IN! What a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

This is my first day on Fit Day and my goal is to forever lose those 30 lbs. What better Christmas gift to myself than a smaller healthier me :D

OMG, ROFLMAO. You sister have TALENT!!! I mean seriously, what you've got is right up there with the great Weird Al Yenkovic. (For those of you too young to remember or better sheltered by your parents, Weird Al was this dude that wrote his own goofy lyrics to popular songs in the early 80's. He wrote "Eat It" sung to the tune of MJ's "Beat it", etc etc.)

I smell an album here....

For the record this is already helping me. I freaked out at one point on Sunday when I realized that 30 lbs in 14 weeks is a little more than 2 lbs/week. I've been at this since last Christmas, so the weeks I lose it's not more than 1-2 pounds, unless I work at it. But I behaved myself yesterday and I'm already down 1.8 pounds for the week, hopefully I can keep this trend going.

traceymc1985 09-20-2010 10:07 PM

We wish you a mini Christmas
We wish you a mini Christmas
We wish you a mini Christmas
And a hot set of gluts (sizzle finger on fanny)

Sorry, I sing to children and use sign language all day, can't seem to sing a silly diddy without waving my hands around...

[email protected] 09-21-2010 06:29 AM

How to do it?

Right now I am walking 4 days per week, 25 minutes each time and doing aqua fitness twice per week.

I plan to up my walking to 30-40 minutes at least 4 times per week and add lap swimming twice a week.

What are you going to do to meet the goal of 30lbs. gone by Christmas?

Great question lchamberla! I'd love to know what everyone is putting in motion to make this a reality. My creative streak is looking for an outlet other than "Budgets" so a rewritten Christmas tune is on my To Do List for the weekend.

I plan on hopping on the elliptical 5 days per week and tweaking that resistance setting like mad to keep my heart rate up for 45 minutes each session. I'm also digging out my hand weights/barbells and stability ball going through some books I bought a few years ago from the "How to Look Good Naked" series. The titles make me howl and I had to pick them up.;)
Oh and I'm increasing my water intake from 8 cups per day to 12 -- with a goal of 15 cups per day.

changeisgood29 09-21-2010 09:28 AM

Good question, Laura! I started the 30 Day Shred yesterday, and aim to use the treadmill/elliptical 40min 6x a week (up from my most recent average of 3-4x/wk). RAWR! Yes, that's right, I wish you all a great deal of RAWR. May you put it to good use. :)

xarinn 09-21-2010 10:01 AM

I am getting lots of inspiration from other peoples posts on what they are going to do!!

I live in a very rural setting and have 2 small children so a gym is not an option for me. I have a step that I use for an 1/2 hour every night while I am watching my favourite shows and then for the other 1/2 hour I use me stability ball and free weights.

I just recently got a pilates video so I plan on doing that every other day while the baby naps and my son is in school. I have heard that pilates isn't so great for weight loss but excellent for building muscles and shaping...

Any comments or experience with pilates guys?

jammiepants 09-21-2010 11:31 AM

Count me in please! This sounds like a great way to stay motivated.:D

LOL that title makes me howl too!!! I wonder if I can check that out at my library? I'm pretty sure it's going to take more than a book for me to look good naked.

Okay to make my goal, I'm going to keep my intake in check, and I'm going to put in a solid hour of workout or cardio M-F, and then do active things on the weekends.

Making It Happen!

1.Logging and charting everything I eat!
2.Portion control / Calorie counting/ Carb and Protein Balancing
3. Working out: Starting with Walk Away the Pounds 3 mile (50 Min.), then when I feel stronger and it is no longer challenging enough, I'll start Slim in 6.

* 5 years ago I did slim in 6 and pilates and got in the best shape of my life!

4.Drink 120 oz of water a day
5.Stick to my plan.
6. Stay positive! No excuses!

emy62509 09-21-2010 01:12 PM

I'm new here and want to join this too! Im at 177ish and don't really have a goal weight per say but 30 sounds about right. Im ready to start this!!! I plan to work more on planning my meals each day and not ending up at work with nothing to eat for 12 hours. I also have got to get the gym- even at 0230 in the am when im getting off work- if only a quick mile- the gym is at my work- no excuses. And my number one goal is total will power. No giving in!!!!!!!!! Im excited!!
