I'm sorry to hear that your baby isn't well. I looked at your signature and it says that you've lost 11lbs and have 29lbs to go for your Christmas goal? Unless you're aiming to lose 40lbs by Christmas I think your adding was a little bit awry, and actually you only have 19lbs to lose like me! x

Thumbs down

Yep, I'm still IN, not necessarily happy with no loss last week and not believing this week will be much better But what better way to get motivated and inspired than being IN! We ladies can do this! Merry Christmas to US!!!

I still think that losing 20 pounds for Christmas is a darn good gift to self, don't you dare get discouraged on me.

I'm trying not to! Still obviously want to get there, I'm just so competitive that if I don't I'll beat myself up! It's starting to get harder to pull the bigger numbers.

Boo honey, you are preaching to the choir here. I'm stuck in the 150's and have been since July. The good news is that I'm only up .2 pounds for the weekend, which is a darn sight better than the last 2-3 weekends. So crossing my fingers for a loss this week. The first 80 pounds came off really quickly, the last 10 have been brutal, and the next 30 aren't going to be a barrel of monkeys either, especially with the holidays coming up. Still if someone could just magically give you a 20 pound loss for Christmas, you would be thrilled with that right? So be thrilled when you give it to yourself.

WeightlossBoo - Thanks for the well wishes for the baby - he is finally getting better. He has been sick with various different stuff for the last 3 weeks.... I am ready for him to be healthy again. You are correct that my signature said I want to lose 40 pounds by Christmas. But in all actuality as long as I lose the 40 pound by 10 January 2011 - I will be happy. (I might be starting a Nursing Program to get my Bachelor's degree - I applied in July and now I am waiting to hear if I got in)..... So if I lose 30 pounds by Christmas - than I can work on the additional 10 before school starts. I just want to be close to the weight that I was 8 years ago - thats when I felt the happiest and healthiest. Please don't get discouraged.... Unfortunately weight loss is a very long and very slow process (wish it were much quicker). I have just realized that its not a diet or exercise regime to get to a certain point - instead its a lifestyle change in order to live long and healthy and happy! So be kind to yourself - because if you aren't kind to yourself than who will be?

I was going to post this information awhile back - as I thought it would shed some light as to why it takes so long to shed the pounds.... In my nutrition class we learned that 1 pound of fat equals about 3,500 kcalories. So that means in order to lose weight you have to burn up 3,500 calories to get a 1 pound weight loss..... Diet and exercise make it easier to speed up the weight loss process. I hope this is helpful! I know for me it helps put things into perspective.

That willpower thing is a b*&ch. Last night we made smores... arghhhhh. I did manage to say NO when everyone wanted to go to dairy queen and get blizzards.

Hope everyone is doing well and not dipping into the halloween candy designated for trick o treaters!

To fight of the candy craving I let myself have two candies daily for being good. I figure if i don't do this i will have candy attack one day and I will go crazy on candy. Right now I am struggling to really keep my carbs low because I eat lots of fruits for lunch and for breakfast I have an egg cheese burrito and for snack midday I like to have granola yogurt parfait. When I get home for dinner this is my problem area I have hard time resisting what's in the fridge .. I know I can do it just a slow start though

Starting weight- 150
Goal weight- 130
Current weight- 148
