Default Need help with workout hair!!!

Okay so I've been working out and losing weight since the end of December. I don't know if it's sweat or fat related, or a combination of the two, but I'm routinely getting the worst build up of my life. It doesn't seem to matter what sort of shampoo I'm use, or how many times I rinse and repeat, it's gunky looking. I've resorted to using the occasional palm full of Dawn dish soap just to get it clean again, but that dries it out and I end up with fly-away frizzies. Any suggestions? BTW I have very thick, fairly straight, shoulder length hair.

Hey Almeeker, sounds like we have the same hair type... I live in the South, so the humidity does a number and a half on my hair in addition to the sweat from the heat and from exercise. I don't have a dandruff problem, but my hair runs on the oily side anyway, so I've had luck with the "2-in-1" Head and Shoulders stuff (any "flavor" works as well as any other). Honestly, I'd prefer to use shampoo and conditioner separately, but unfortunately when I do that, I get a buildup issue. I'll look forward to seeing what other folks have to say.

I have thick straight long hair that gets oily if I don't shampoo every day. I only use conditioner about once or twice a week. I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special shampoo -- The moisturizing one is the bee's knees, even for oily hair like mine. Scalp tingles, smells a little herbal (maybe a little hippie-ish??), washes right out. I work outside and most days are pretty sweaty and grimy, so I need stuff that really works! They're a little on the expensive side (about 10 bucks a bottle), but so worth it.
