Pcos
Hi everyone,
Pls forgive me there is a PCOS thread already. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, as well as an severe iron deficiency. I lost a lot of hair in the past couple months, and that's what made me visit the doctor. I wasn't provided much information about PCOS by my doctor so I've been trying to find information from the internet. I came across a lot of people who stated that a low-carb/keto diet reversed their symptoms, including the hairloss. I am also hoping it will also stabilize my moods and decrease anxiety. I am currently in law school so I am almost always stressed but I find that I can never really relax, even if I have free time. I also tend to get really bad migraines that go away within couple hours. I was wondering if someone has had experience with PCOS, and if any specific diets were successful for them. I just made the switch to moderately low-carb diet, hoping to slowly transition to low-carb diet. Any information would be much appreciated! Thank you. |
Hi there, while it is advisable to avoid high GI food, avoiding them completely will have adverse affect on your body. Include a lot of green leafy vegetables, seasonal fruits, and also healthy fats. It's imperative that you indulge in some kind of exercise atleast 3 times a week. Manage your stress levels and be at peace with yourself. Hope this helps !
