Please help me with some encouragement and tips! :)

OK well today is my first day on fitday.com
i have already created my journal entry, figured out my weight goal, now all i need is some help and healthy tips!!
i am 19 years old
i currently weight about 219 pounds (i kno..thats really bad..)
i am about 6 ft. tall, but i havent grown for the last two years
and i want to weight about 137.
that would be my perfect weight. 135-140 at least.
i see alot of great stories on here about women being patient and workin hard to lose the weight, so if you guys could just help me a bit, i would definitely appreciate it!
