Default Does anyone else feel like they have absolutely no one to talk to?

Lately, the loneliness has been hitting me pretty hard. I realized the other day that when something funny happens at the grocery store, or I finish a really good movie, I literally have nobody in my contacts to text about it. I have coworkers that I make small talk with, but outside of those forced interactions, my phone is completely silent.

It feels like everyone else already has their established friend groups, and I somehow missed the boat. I try to keep myself busy with hobbies and distractions, but the quiet evenings are really tough. How do you guys cope with this? Does it get easier, or are there ways to start building genuine connections from scratch when you feel this isolated?

Absolutely, I can relate to that feeling. Sometimes it feels like everyone is busy with their own lives, and it can be really isolating. I try to reach out to friends or family, but it’s tough when you feel like no one really gets it. Just know you’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to seek support.

Yeah, honestly. You can be around people all day and still feel like there’s nobody you can actually open up to. I think a lot more people feel this way than they admit.

I know that feeling. I’d sit on my couch eating dinner and realize I hadn't spoken a single word out loud since ordering my morning coffee at the drive-thru. It’s a heavy kind of isolation. What helped me bridge the gap was finding low-pressure online spaces just to get used to chatting again. I stumbled onto flick.chat a while back and started using it to casually message people about random sci-fi movies I was watching. It really took the edge off those quiet nights. Building local, genuine connections takes time, but don't give up.
