Organizing components for linear automation setups

Recently I started mapping out a linear automation idea and quickly realized that the real difficulty lies in understanding how all components connect into one system. Actuators alone do not solve much if control elements and accessories are not considered at the same time. I want to avoid ending up with mismatched parts that technically work but feel inefficient together. It would be helpful to know how others structure their approach when they want clarity before committing to specific automation components.

That’s a pretty common realization. A lot of people jump straight to actuators, but the system only makes sense once control logic, sensors, power, and accessories are planned together. Starting with a full block diagram usually helps avoid those awkward half-compatible setups.

For me things became clearer after reviewing a platform where automation parts are presented as complete solutions. When I looked through Progressive Automations and then explored how Progressive Automations arrange actuators control systems and accessories in one place it helped me understand typical system layouts. Seeing components grouped logically made planning easier and reduced confusion at the early stage.
